Pre and post 4.0, I've got a bug where if you run out of fuel or blow the engine and then select replay, The replay is absent of engine sound. Is this a common bug on pc?

Annnnnnnnddd replay stutter is back, damn it :banghead: , I really hate the replays in this game.
I'm close to purchasing a Thrustmaster T300 and PCARS again (sold the game previously due to its unfinished state). I hear that the game runs pretty well now on PS4 but have the replays improved since 4.0? I love my replays and was really disappointed by the glitchy and inconsistent replays in this game. Thanks in advance

Not really. I like my replays too and its not there yet. I know thats not what you wanted to here but it is what it is! With that said, it is still fun and has so much potential. Go ahead and take the plunge!

Honestly it's a big let down still, the game runs well though. (replays aside)

I love my replays too but PCars is a big letdown in this regard. Stuttering, skipping, pop up, car wheels visibly changing from 2D to 3D and back again, no physical gear changing in cockpit view in some cars, gear change indicator not changing in cockpit view in some cars, competitor cars badly stuttering when near the players car, when pausing the picture will skip forward a frame or three and back again when unpausing.
I'll stop there but it's a veritable laundry list of problems with the replays and the worst I have witnessed in any racing game ever.

Yeah I don't normally watch replays in Pcars just for the sake of watching them, but I sometimes watch a quick bit to see what went wrong when an AI car goes all Kamikaze on me. I watched one the other day on Monza, as at the first chicane on lap one, I held a defensive line on the way in to protect my lead, and an AI car went around the outside, way too fast, ended up cutting the second part of the chicane in a big way, and ran straight into the side of me, pushing me off into the gravel. I was like "WTF?!?!" so I hit replay and watched the start again, and while watching this incredible display of racecraft, the replay was indeed stuttering like crazy. It reminded me of the replays of GT6 online races, where the cars kind of stutter and glitch about.

If you like replays, photomode and beautiful graphics, Driveclub's got you more than covered. Pcars is severely lacking in this department.

I caved and purchased the T300 and PCARS again (blimmin Mightyape had the wheel on special - still overpriced at that!). I must say the game is much more solid apart from those fricken replays. Was to be expected but I do hope they actually try and fix this part of the game eventually. It's minor in the scheme of things but still an important part of the experience as far as I'm concerned. If they commissioned PD for the replay development to let them continue to evolve the game I'd be happy with that

Then I suspect we'd still be waiting for the replay feature for quite some time. When it finally released you'd only be able to view replays if you had a holopad ;)

Despite the faults I really like the replays. Being able to slow the action down using l2 and speed it up with r2 is good until you try and forward through a pit stop.

When they're not stuttering the replays can look great. They're generally at 60 frames per second. For me I prefer watching them over Driveclub ones at 30fps. I wasn't wowed with driveclubs replays as they don't feel realistic
although the photomode is great.

What Project Cars replay system needs is to make use of all the buttons on the controller and allow mapable keyboard buttons to car position and camera view so we don't have to cycle through multiple views.

Other improvements
Some variety in camera angles from lap to lap.
Being able to skip back/forward a lap at a time.
Telemetry
Driver name, position, lap times.
Maybe that stuff isn't currently stored in replays. I'd like it if it was.
