Le Mans Bugatti - NGT (10% rain)



I was in the Scuderia Ecosse 360. I was on softs all round and didn't make any stops. I hit a recovering BMW and lost a lot of places and time, but it didn't make any real impact on my finishing position.

I took the Jim Beam Saleen for this one.My initial fuel calculations told me I'd need 102 litres to do the race. The Saleen has a 100 litre tank, so I set it up with lower wings and longer gearing, so I could make the fuel last and not need a stop. I was hit on the first lap, losing about 15-20 seconds but, again, that didn't make any real impact on my finishing position. Everyone else stopped, and I sailed up through the field and was in 2nd place, 4 secs behind the leader when they all stopped. The next 3 guys all got past me, and the other Jim Beam Saleen unlapped himself, and I ended up in 5th. Pretty pleased with that result. My strategy paid off.

This weeks GTR2 league race was at St Petersburg, which I thought was in Russia, but it turns out its in Florida...

The car choce was either the Mosler or the Morgan. I took the polka dot Morgan. I was knocked into a spin and turned round on the first lap. No damage was sustained at that point, but another car came round the corner, unsighted, and ran into me knocking off my grill and front splitter. By the time I got back to the pits and made repairs, I had lost 3 laps. Continued to the end without further mishap, and managed to gain a few positions as other people crashed. I had a fairly uneventful race after the first lap.

Hey guys, does anyone hvae any Mercedes Benz car pictures.. Seems that I can never find a BENZ car mod in rfactor, GTR2, and race 07. Only one I have is DTM 2007

You can do better. Was playing some Race 07, and my Downshifts were a lot smoother, and Nice rev match too So if I can do it, you can do it as well

there's a mercedes in the DTM mod, but i dont like it too much.. physics for that are meh. here's a very (in)famous mercedes from the historic gt mod for rfactor.

I started 14th. Finished 6th. I gained practically all my places on the first 2 laps as people fell off. I then drove consistently, without any mistakes, to the end.

I've downloaded the sim mod and let it's EXE run but when I select the protos in the menu and click model no cars appear. This is slightly annoying.

You need to download the LM, LMES and ALMS car packs but there are still some years with no cars.

Gah, that is the one track my computer does not like. On full or high settings it still gets held up with just a few cars.

Thanks for that. I'll have a look there when I get home.

I have 2 installs of GTR2. One for my nogrip league races (basically just a clean install with their carpack, and tracks we're using), and one that has a millionty-seven mods, cars & tracks all using the Pilsbierbude autoupdater. That's a great way to get practically everything released for GTR2. It uses a torrent-type system to download and update cars, tracks and mods. I just run it every week or so to keep me up to date. They also have 5 online servers that give a good mix of mods and car types to race with. I've had a few good, clean, races the past couple of nights using a C6-R.

When does the 'Historic GT & Touring Car Mod' come out for GTR2?

I was snooping about on ebay looking for a copy of GT Legends, but if i can get the same from GTR2.....

What spec PC do you guys play GTR2 - does anyone here play it on something that just scrapes through on minimum requirements?
