Do you mean its just like shift 2 where its hard/impossible to get a good setting?
I played shift 1 and 2, and i havent bought project cars yet because im not wasting 70 euro on a very cool looking but uncontrollable game

So, is it anything like shift 2? or did they really make all the flaws in the shift games disappear
Not at all if you mean the physics, like night and day (i own Shift 2 also).
Shift 2 wasn't a bad racing game though, just the handling let it down on a lot of cars. PCARS is entirely different and has some of the best FFB/physics i have experienced so far.

For me, it's a SHIFT 3 with better graphics, nice rain, and without tuning(modding vehicle like spoilers bodykits rims etc) and without many cool cars, you just get some LMP GT racers and just a few road cars, and in there I mean ones that appear in every single game (except my favourite ford focus rs)

I was hoping for something better, disappointed with this, just another shift.

and i can't set up my wheel properly, which is working in every game (its a cheap logitech formula vibration feedback wheel), and here it simply does not. I can turn the wheel 90' each side and the setup is like this, either i set it up so slight turn of wheel causes full turn or when you turn the wheel 80' each side it turns gently and when you reach 90' it goes like from 40% turn into 100% turn which makes me unable to take corners clean, i just spin out on most of them. Silly, maybe I'm ultra stupid that I can't set it up, although I did set it perfectly in every other racing game ;)

Are you playing with an uncalibrated wheel or faulty control pad? Must be because otherwise you wouldn't make such comparisons. There are people that have wheel/pad issues so maybe you're just one of them.

I assure you if your wheel is working as it should PCARS has great physics. Cars handle predictable and smooth and the FFB is spot on.

Edit: just read the part you added about your wheel, that is clearly the issue so please don't blame the handling.

Well, I'm pretty sure it's 100% correctly calibrated because it works perfectly well in DiRT Rally. In there it works just exactly as I want it to, same in ETS2 and TDU2. It worked flawlessly in both SHIFT games and previous DiRT games. Here it just doesn't. And no, it's not broken, it's setup correctly, the game doesn't recognize it(it's a custom wheel) but then it's not a problem, because 99% of games does not recognize my wheel, and yet it works, just not in here :)

okay, so my first post could perhaps be the dumbest ever, but i really cannot work it out. Could someone please tell me how to change the opponent skill by just 1% at a time? at the moment i can only change it in 10% intervals, i'm tearing my hair out! (ps4.)

you can't on PS4. hopefully we can soon

thanks for the quick response Bleeder, I only honestly thought i had lost the plot, especially after reading through another thread on here where people where talking about "83%" and "92%" etc. Is that a "ps4 only" glitch then, as i thought one of the games major positives was that massively adjustable AI.

Bummer. Thing is you aren't using the proper kit so you can't blame it on the game that's just harsh ;)

Nope that's PC, i have it at 85% for example.

I don't want to be shot down for merely mentioning S2, but it's certainly been built out of it.

S2 car physics were just a big pivot under the car, steering lag (sort of got patched) were the killer.

That's all been sorted. Very nice. Albeit, if you picked a wheel that they spent some time on so its pretty much plug'n'play to access those lovely physics and FFB.

But the AI, crash audio, OTT crash physics, horrible transition from auto drive, weird replay sudden camera stutter, graphical artefacts, menu music, tuning page, cars not quite looking like their actually touching the ground, cars becoming lightweight hollow objects once they leave the ground and that slight forza-esque plasticky not really solid sheen to cars and tyres screams S2 to me.

But you're still gonna love it.

not sure if it's a glitch or not, might be another reason, but only on PC can you adjust by less than increments of 10. i'd like to see at least increments of 5 sometime soon

I'm not gonna deny that, game was released unfinished in a way and there are missing features and bugs present currently. Even still with what is present you can have a blast and things will get sorted for sure.

This is my main worry.I will be buying the ps4 version and really can not afford a wheel so this is not what I wanted to hear.

I use wheel too.My advice:stay to open wheels cars.I find big difference.Gt cars are very sensitive with controller.Reminds me the problems i had with shift 2.

Strange thing is that on that one race (i think it was the Dubai kart race), he was talking every lap, and absolutely zero times in the UK championship races (I have it set at 100% race length). So i'm guessing it's either a bug, or he only talks to you during certain races. Has anyone heard him talk to you during the national UK kart races?

I had the same thing and was wondering if my engineer had resigned. Glad to see someone else had the same thing.

Yeah hopefully were able to change AI a bit more as im finding 60% way to easy but 70% im struggling to overtake 3 cars in a race now.

Just picked up this game today, having really great fun so far.

Coming from Forza to this is a humongous change, challenging but good fun.

My only slight complaint is I wish the Car Roster was alot bigger.

However the track selection is arguably the best I have seen in any game ever.

If you could get Forza's Car Roster with Project Cars Track selection

I'd be very happy indeed

Awesome game thus far :)

Out of the cars I've tried so far the GT3 cars are some of the most predictable and least twitchy with a (properly adjusted) controller in my opinion.

Sorry.i use controller not wheel. For me the worst cars with the controller are the road cars. The others i can get use to them in time i think.Try formula junior.

I think the problem is you didn't calibrate it ingame too, try to do so in controller options

watching the replays back in bumper cam in high speed/fast forward is most enjoyable. used to do this back in the first DiRT. if only the engine noise wasn't making my ears bleed!

I have the Xbone version but also ordered the PS4 version in case. Overall I am very happy with the game. I was a little concerned at first with the twitchiness but since playing around with the controller configuration and the car setup havent had an issue. Still have to carefull on cold tyres though. The AI is excellent I qualified in first position was leeding three laps in and had a moment on one corner lost 9 positions and had to fight to gain two positions back on the last two laps. Best racing I have ever had on a console. No point talking about the graphics as they are great. I was dissapointed with the photomode and the lack of pit crews but Im sure that will be fixed soon. Forza 6 and GT7 have there work cut out for them.

Let's just go through all the car brands that aren't featured in any shape or form:
Honda
Toyota
Ferrari
Chevrolet
Holden
Mazda
Dodge
Bugatti
Fiat
Alfa Romeo
Citroen
Peugeot
Cadillac
Buick

As long as the AI is challenging, number of cars is more than 16, I'm getting it.
You'll be getting it then, because the answer to both is yes  It's a joy to have such large grids of cars, not seen before on consoles in these numbers. I think the AI is superb too.

Mildly enjoying the game, biggest gripe with the Career mode is that it's an absolute load of bollox. I'm a bottom tier open wheel rookie racing driver, I've got a massive twitter following and fanbase comparable to a Formula 1 driver and I have 70 year old men sending me tweets that sound like they came from a 13 year old. In the real world I'd be an unknown nobody with dreams of something big, but in Project Cars I'm already a superstar.

To top it off, while I am a contracted racing driver It boils down to only 2 races per year that happen in September, the rest of the year I spend in historic touring cars, Vintage F1 and track day street cars and anything else they can cram me into, all the same I still get emails from my Formula Gulf team about my performance as if I was driving for them in these events, when I'm driving for other people.. My fanbase however pays no attention whatsoever to my non-championship events.

At the end of the season I get an email talking about this amazing season (consisting of 4 races over 2 events) and how he feels like it was just yesterday that we were in pre-season testing... Only I didn't do any pre-season testing. Later I get my new contracts, I've got an email from my Formula Rookie team talking about an amazing year and renewing my contract, even though I've been driving Formula Gulf for a year.

Honestly it feels pretty unfinished, there are so many plot holes to this career that you really struggle to stay on board. The racing is decent, but I don't need a career mode for that.

Set up weather to real time as I was having a thunderstorm in my area and the race weather was a storm. As the real weather subsided to just being cloudy, the games rain let up. Such a small feature that had me in awe . The game must use our zip code for weather? Going to test this feature out more as I am still not convinced, lol.

On a side note, is it possible to change liveries in career or solo races?
