pCARS Patch Notes - 1.4

Not going to start career until the a.i. is sorted. I waited a long time for this game so i want the best experience i can. Soon hopefully.

I just stop doing career mode again because I got frustrated with the AI. Yes I like that they challenge you (unlike GT AI) but damn you don't have throw me off the track. Also they grip is incredible in the rain. Looking forward to it.

I'm stuck with a Fanatec GT2 that doesn't work in Project CARS, & many people are stuck with Thrustmaster T300's that are buggy - join the club! ;)

When PCARS was announced (the first time on PS) I bought a T300 wheel a month out because my Fanatec GT2 wouldn't work. Then before the real release it was announced it would work. Oh what joy :-)

So how do you think I feel with two wheels that don't work properly both with "full support"? :-(

You probably feel twice as bad as me!

I have A$1,000 worth of wheels that don't work properly! That is a big OUCH!!!! Plus, when I go back and play GT6 with my friends the T300 isn't even close to how the Fanatec GT2 wheel performs..

Why not sell the T300 RS , they are out off stock for the moment ? You could even sell it for more than you have paid .

Is the t300 just one epic fail of a wheel? I feel im just constantly fighting with the car with t300 and pcars where is back on ps3 with a dfgt it felt more natural with various games and it behaved how you would expect.

are you using the default FFB settings?

Jack of spades...default was abysmal no feeling at all with the t300 especially on straights and while you were not fighting with it it just felt horrible

I used the T300 on GT6 before switching to the PS4 and the wheel is a clear improvement over the G27. If you're not happy with it, it's probably down to the software side !

It could be because im using a guys settings that are for a fanatec for the pc version of pcars which just dont translate well to the t300?

Badly need another racer to try with the wheel...will fire up driveclub see how that feels later

Is your 'fighting' due to the wheel wanting to centre itself? If so, it should be fixed in the next patch.

The T300 has a stronger motor than DFGT, so if the latter feels most natural you'll probably always be disappointed. You could try lowering Tyre Force for a lighter feel and raising Fz to get a bit more rumble on the kerbs.

I'm getting incredibly annoyed with this game now, being rammed by nothing when in the middle of the track every other race is bad enough but I'm using Jack Spade FFB settings from the Pro Cars forum for each car and then setting them to all tracks and it'll be ok in practice and quali and then it tweaks a couple of the settings for no reason to something else for the start of the race. It also has a habit of making 3rd gear the same as 2nd on random start ups.
I'm waiting for them to sort this out before going back to it as I'm way too frustrated at present, it's a wonderful game but the bugs are ridiculous especially in the setting up of each car.

Just seen this in the update notes

Fixed an issue where custom vehicle setups were lost when progressing through sessions

Hopefully that means my FFB settings won't change halfway through the race day/weekend. I also hope it doesn't randomly change settings like it just did in my Gp5 BMW 320 race, I had a slight bit of overheating on the front left during practice and quali but that was easily tempered by easing off slightly in certain corners, I then started the race and something dramatic had changed. Going into the second corner the car would try desperately to spin to the right under braking and both the left front and rear were overheating madly despite me driving exactly the same. It made no sense whatsoever.

Fingers crossed it'll be improved soon enough though.

Yeah probably. The T300 feels much more natural and subtle than the G27.
I didn't play around much with the settings, I'm quite happy with them but they probably aren't the best I can get.
I use 65 global FFB, around 30-60 global scale depending on the car and track (50/60 for open wheel, 30/40 for GT, 100 for the karts), 108 Fz & Mz, more or less depending on the track surface and 0 Fx Smoothing or I don't know how it's called in english (10 on default).
Didn't try the Jack of spades settings.
/end of the off topic :D

To be honest.. I never played the Career. Since I did a quick race.. And the AI divebombed every corner.. I only did multiplayer

I really hope they fix the game crashing. It happens mainly when you about to do a race online. Ever since I had the game it has happen like 10 times.
I noticed it often happen with another bug, the camera is stuck on the bumper view. You can't switch.

No, the wheel is fine, it is the game that is at fault. Same with the GT2 wheel, hence my comment about both wheels being "fully supported".

The only issue that I am unsure of is whether the "random button presses" are wheel or game related at the moment. I too have experienced these as well but it is so rare and random I just do not know. This subject may require it's own thread if it looks like it is a real problem.

Definitely wheel related because the same problem affects Driveclub and games on the PS3. Not good for a wheel that costs nearly as much as the console it is being used with.....

I think if memory serves it's actually more for say a t300 in australia than it is the console and that's a bundled console with games!!

Yeah close mate. T300rs is $500rrp, and I paid $550 for my PS4 in a bundle with 5 games, 3 of which were brand new $100 games. PS4 by itself was $500, so same price as T300. Not as bad as the T500rs, those are $700rrp! I'm sorry, but no ****ing way am I spending that much on a wheel that doesn't even come with a shifter!

On another note; G29 is meant to retail for something like $210USD, which is less than $280AUD. If that turns out to be the real price, I reckon I'll buy that, as it'll be at least as good as a G27, but will work with PS4, and I can justify that purchase. The Mrs will be impossible to convince of a $500 wheel haha.

Funny, I was about to say definitely game related ! I never ever experienced this bug on PS3 with the T300 (used it for more than 6 months) but I did on pCARS !
So I don't know. Maybe PS4 related ?

it is wheel related, i had it also in driveclub. however i know 4 people (including me) with the wheel and 4 out of 4 have on every platform or game random button presses with the same combination of button which is strange.. for example in driveclub club was r3+option. i contacted thrustamaster and they confirmed are faulty wheels but they want a video of me playing the game and having the issue which means i should record myself 24/7 cause it's totally random.

That's terrible! If Thrustmaster acknowledge that the issue is due to a faulty wheel you shouldn't have to record it and not everyone has the ability to record it. :banghead: Surely it should be a straightforward returns process with a known fault. :odd:
