PD could potentially have a problem with a Friday release of 1.12...

That's from the "Sierra Time Rally" article. Then, in the big long "Mapping Zahara" thread, people began speculating as to which day the update would come, and @BadDragonzxD999 noted that that the last five updates have been released on alternating Wednesdays and Fridays, and the hype train unanimously decided that the pattern would continue and the update would be released on this Friday.
Personally, I haven't got a clue as to when 1.12 will come; PD is an enigma.
Ummm BadDragonzxD999 didn't note that, I'm pretty confident that I noted that along with a few other things...
Correction- He noted it 2 weeks before I did, wonder why I didn't see that! 💡 Oh that's right all the posts about "Needing Zahara" and "PD hate" spammed it! My bad!

Hybrids, that's the problem.

Detroit is 42 degrees North. However, the geomagnetic latitude is 52 degrees, due to the location of the magnetic north pole. My home town is 52 degrees North, but the geomagnetic latitude is 51 degrees.

If the predicted polar storm occurs (up at 80% now) and you can get away from city lights, yes. You'll need a Planetary K-Index of around 6 or 7 - which is pretty strong (normal is 0, 1-3 is quiet, 4-6 is moderate, 7-9 is severe) and something a CME from an X-ray flare is capable of generating. It's actually at 4 at the moment, probably due to the M-class flare on 9th.

The 4 is actually from a corona hole and the M-class is supposed to arrive late tonight/early tomorrow, while the x-class could be faster than the current m-class which could merge into one and create a G3 (kp 7) to isolated G4 (kp 8) which could see auroa's in the middle to maybe the southern states.

The effects of a solar event facing roughly toward Earth, on the 9th of September, should reach Earth around midnight on September 11th UT. Another, larger event, also facing Earth, occurred on September 10th, and it should have higher velocity. The effects of the latter event may therefore reach Earth at the same time. Even if it is later, disturbances should be large and last long enough to result in increased auroral activity for the next three to five days. The result is that aurora watchers should monitor the Current Auroral Activity on the forecast website or watch http://www.swpc.noaa.gov/ovation/ for the next five days. We will post more accurate predictions or descriptions of conditions when the results of more solar observations become available.
Note that we do not expect the aurora to exceed index = 5 or 6 on our scale because the magnetosphere has been relatively quiet. However, conditions such as these could lead to auroras observed from the middle or southern states.

Comment: Upgrading the Watch for 13-14 Sep due to anticipated effects from the CME associated with yesterdays R3 (Strong) event.
Potential Impacts: Area of impact primarily poleward of 50 degrees Geomagnetic Latitude.
Induced Currents - Power system voltage irregularities possible, false alarms may be triggered on some protection devices.

If you don't believe me research it. :)

Perhaps you should take your own advice. This is a "medium" level event at best and will affect pretty much absolutely nothing just like the hundreds of other geomagnetic storms that constantly bombard the earth. Wake me up if a big one ever comes...I want to see all the pretty lights :D

So basically all that's gonna happen is an increase chance of the Aurora being visible

This is all still speculation that the update/track is even coming. Weather isn't so much a factor as PD is.

Would love to be proved wrong this coming Friday though. (09/12/14)

Storm or not, there hasn't been any official announcements. I wouldn't set my hopes too high. I can guarantee (based on speculations of how PD works) that we won't been seeing anything this or next week.

Thats what Im thinking. . . . when PD says Sepember update, they mean a day or two before October. . .

... omg, is this really happen? we discuss about excuses before we have a release date ... is this some sort of brain wash? r.

I believe I'll have an Iphone 6 in my hands before 1.12 comes out... seriously.
I believe I'll have the 1.12 update on my PS3 before I will own the Iphone 6, simply because I won't even buy an Iphone. :D

It seems that PD has a little delay, since the source I was in contact with claimed that an update should have rolled out yesterday. Or it was just faulty information.

You are one hilarious little girl 👍

I'm completely serious, you can get a phone with practically the same specs, and more usability for a fraction of the price.

But people seem to think Apple is the best for reasons they can never seem to explain to me...

Sure they're "good" phones, but only a fool thinks they're worth the money.

Of course when you put everything in perspective, all smart phones RRP for several times more than what it cost to manufacture them I guess, but Apple just takes the cake with their prices.

hey guess what? I'm still buying an Iphone... thick, dense, foolish, whatever you want to call me that's fine because your opinions are worth as much as horse poop.

I'll post a pic once I get it for all you haters out there 👍

btw this thread is about 1.12 not about whether or not Iphone sucks so can we get back on topic?

You see, if the earth-destroying solar flare hits earth at approximately 12:00 pm CT, then by my math it should mean 1.12 comes out at approximately 11:59 pm CT.

Now would be the perfect time for that hilarious Kaz Meme. The one that goes something in the likes of "We will release an update in -insert month-. I'll mark it on my calendar!" And he marks the 31st

throwing out guarantees based on speculations...are we allowed to do that?

Yep; welcome to Gran Turismo. Land of "what-if's," "soon," "maybe's," uncertainty, broken promises and shattered hope. :dopey:

I think we can be fairly sure that the track is coming, it's just a matter of when.

The Friday thing was based on a report from the recent livestream event that said "in the update next week". I think I saw somewhere that it was later changed to "in the September update" so it's possible that the info was wrong.

Anyway, there may be an update tomorrow but I wouldn't bet on it.

Would be nice to have the new track for the weekend.
