I say that we should race at TriEluzai's kart track this weekend, I have downloaded it which means we can all race there, does anybody have any objections?

I love custom tracks.
Just realised Im not available this weekend or next as im on holiday from saturday to the following saturday getting home at 9pm.
Im going to be on a train through monaco gp qualifying:grumpy:

I'm game for this weekend. How about sometime between 1700 - 1800 GDT?

The custom track will make for an interesting race if we can get a larger field. I recall jacking up the width parameter in the generator so that we could do a lot of side by side racing through corners, but with only four karts it feels a bit too wide. That judder inducing downhill left hander where the inside drops off will be the equalizer!

Btw Tom, the OP is missing the numbers for the Green Hell Drivers Club.
CobraCommandrew (Racing Number 11)
TriEluzai (Racing Number 26)

I'm looking forward to tomorrow's race! Tom, have you got an idea of what the turnout is going to look like? I'm hoping we can get more folks to actually show up this week! :D

Bummer that you can't make the next two rounds Haitch.

GHDC will be fully represented. 👍 Who else is in for tomorrow at this point? Tom needs backup on track! :sly:

Tri and I will still be on, but we're beginning to wonder if this is really happening today, given the lack of responses over the last couple of days.

Should still be a good time even if only a couple of people show. 👍 Tom, I can see you're on PSN right now so at the very least it'll be the three of us. :sly:

Today was a blast, as expected. The Nordschleife + Karts = seriously fun times. Loved the commentary, guys. Makes me wish I had a commentator for all my races! :D

Looking forward to next week!

Right then after a fantastic race on Saturday, i'm pumped up and ready for this weekend's one! Just one dilemma, I have no idea what track we should race at so we'll have a vote and the track which has the most votes wins! Also it looks like PSL Racing Team aren't going to show for the remainder of the races, I will PM Batey and see what's what. 👍

Sounds like a good idea to create a poll Tom. How about adding one of the actual poll widgets to the top of the thread so we can track votes clearly?

Considering that track surface smoothness is paramount, here are some options that I think might work. Disclaimer: I haven't driven all of these in a kart before; I'm just guessing some of these might work reasonably well due to minimal track camber and the like. If someone here has more experience, please chime in!

  1. Nordschleife - bumpy as we all know but nothing we can't handle
  2. Top Gear Test Track - haven't driven this in a kart but there is almost zero camber on the track
  3. Côte d’Azur - this could be bad with the bump between Casino and Mirabeau and the camber in the hairpin
  4. Grand Valley East - haven't driven in a kart
  5. Tokyo R246 - haven't driven in a kart

Bashman and I have been discussing this all week and we have decided that the best place to race on saturday would be the Eiger Norwand Short Track, is everyone cool with this and who can make it on saturday?

I'll be there. I can't recall if I've run that track before in a kart. Sounds like fun as long as it isn't too bumpy. See you Saturday. 👍

"The guy in red" will be present tomorrow. Btw Tom, you have the GHDC's racing numbers swapped. Cobra is #11 and I am #26.

Here's hoping I'll find my maiden laps on the Eiger Nordwand nice and smooth... I'm not holding my breath though! :nervous:

Guy in red, I don't know why you're so keen on getting those numbers straightened out. After all, #11 did sweep both laps of the Nordschleife last week. :sly:

GHDC members make sure credit is given where it's due. Good thing the guy in red was there to cut a hole in the air down the back straight on those laps eh? ;)

Haha, sorry I had to cancel the race yesterday, there just weren't enough people to race 👎 but the race will be rescheduled to this saturday coming 👍

LancerEvo7
Would you guys be interested in doing a race on a 1/3 mi oval?
Cool suggestion. I'm game. Cobra and I tried a few laps of Eiger Nordwand too, and it worked really well.

I think we should do a series where each week someone puts forward a custom kart track and the next week another person puts forward a custom track.

Whatever you guys suggest I think that we should do :)

Personally I would be more interested in a mix between some more in game tracks and custom tracks. I think the Eiger Nordwand planned for last week's cancelled race can make for some good racing.

I vote for trying GTP_LancerEvo7's custom oval this Saturday, and tentatively setting Eiger Nordwand for the following week.

Where does everyone else stand?

I'll put the track online tonight before Capp Cup for you guys to test out. The hardest part is Turn 4, it's a little tighter than the first 3 turns. It has no bumps at all, so any wrecks will be from contact.

Sounds awesome! Do you think we should be lengthening our gear ratio at all?

Draft battles in karts... shake and fake! :dopey:

In that case when it is your turn to put forward a track you could choose a in game track.

Could somebody take my position of race director for this weekend's race as I cannot make it unfortunately, have a good race 👍

This is cutting it pretty close, but I can have my lounge open for anyone who wants to run karts during our normal time today. Since I don't have many of you on my friends list yet, you may need to send me a request before being able to join.

We can run Eiger as originally planned or we can run any custom track(s) that are suggested. It doesn't matter to me.

Reply back to the thread if you are interested. If there are no responses, I won't bothering setting up my lounge.

Later, guys.
