Permanent Borrow Glitch Trading Thread

So this glitch doesn't work at all anymore? I'm hoping it does because it's the only way I'm going to get an X2010 Prototype, there's no way I can gold the special events. :( Should I give it a go? I will back up my save data.

You don't need to back up save data, but I would too avoid corruption. Also, I really don't think this glitch is worth it anymore. It would take 2-4 hours to download the deleted game data. Is it really worth it for one car?

And sammy, DLC cars do not work.

I mean I would back it up in case something went wrong. I always do after each GT5 session in case my PS3 YLODs or explodes etc :crazy:

I'm trying to collect every car in the game. I already have every standard car and most premiums, so I would like an X2010 prototype to complete my collection :) I could set it to reinstall everything in the morning before I go to work all day so I don't have sit watching it 💡 But I'd like to establish whether this glitch actually still works before I start down that road!
 
Just tried the borrow glitch to get an X2010 Prototype and it DOES still work.

However, the game will not load if there are no patches at all installed. All I got was a blank screen when the game tried to start. I had to download the first patch, which is update 1.05 at 608MB, before my savegame could load. After 1.05 had been installed I cancelled the rest of the updates, then I could go into my garage and switch cars as per the instructions.

When I reinstalled the rest of the patches the X2010 prototype was still in the garage :D But it does take time to download all the patches, I checked and all the patches take 3606 MB. My advice would be to start the downloads before you go out or go to bed because it would be extremely boring waiting for it.
 
Okey i recently did GT academy and i got all golds and i am recieving the cars weekly as anyone else would and i got the GTR black edition (sort of) and i got it in my car delivery but i didn't get to open it, so i saved it and when i came back it was gone!:banghead: I was wondering if somebody could try this glitch with this Academy car and see if it works. I need to know eveything about this glitch with that car before i do it!

I guess odds are very short to get them by sponging. If you have missed the event - you missed the Academy 2012 car line up. :indiff:

But have you tried it? If it lets you get into the car, why couldn't you glitch it?

Not working for me. :indiff:

It's hanging after the "Accessing game data, Please do not switch off the system while HDD access indicator is flashing" screen.

I'm trying to do this with a Hong Kong disk, so I may be complicating matters. I'm no pro either, this is my first time. :dopey:

Edit: I'm reinstalling the patches, and going to try and glitch a normal car later to be sure.

ok, can we clear this up? one guys saying it still works, and another saying it doesnt.

does it work or not? i would like to use this trick to get the ferrari F1 cars.

I tried this earlier in the week and it worked fine for me.
 
I want to say this is not going to work for the new academy cars because they didn't exist prior to the 1.05 update. For me, the save with the academy car will not load on version 1.05 but a normal save will.

Edit:
Should I try installing all the updates except the last one and see if that works? I think I'm wasting my time here. I wouldn't doubt this still works for cars that existed since release.

This works for cars like the s vettel and x2010 not sure about academy cars yet. No one on my list has them. Not sure it will work if it's not on the first update seeing how they took the ability out of the hence the reason why were deleting the game data to install it up to a certain point.

What I'm thinking is the game won't sign online unless you have the latest update. Maybe if I install all the updates except the latest I might be able to load the save with the borrowed academy car. The car can't show in red if I'm not online right? IDK exactly how this glitch works but in the beginning people were downgrading to 1.0, now I read somebody got this to work on 1.05, so who knows up to what version this will work on? I'm testing it now so we'll see.

I stopped updating as soon as it read 2/17 then hit circle go on after you go on deny update and when fully on the game it asks If you wanna sign in click no it will ask again click no until your onto the game then switch from your car you borrowed to any car in your garage after that exit garage save and update to go online. (borrow car you want before you delete patch. if the cars is white after you deleted patch and went on you did it the right way)

I didn't lose anything when I deleted the update it said I ain't have a dlc paint that's it but they'd cause I never bought the paint on the account other then that it's pretty straightforward

What about pictures, replays and such? I have 2 other people that have GT5 save games, do i have to back them up to?
 
Yes the glitch will pretty much stay seeing how it's been in the game since it was released they won't get rid of it forever unless they changed the whole game pretty much
 
The pictures and replays you lose I believe. There was something awhile ago I read that said how to get them back I'm not 100% sure I'd say back up everything such as replays and photos and If your unsure back up saves to just so you have extra reassurance

The dlc I never had on the account except the one with x1 and I still had the cars so no you don't lose dlc

Okey i know im asking alot of questions but are sure it was the X2011 you got from the DLC and not the X2010 from the special event?

Yes I'm sure the x2011 prototype is the dlc car it comes with the r34 r35 and r33 tc cars plus more. I got my s vettel by the borrow glitch
