Permanent Borrow Glitch Trading Thread

I tried doing a regular sponge with a Mark IV on ver 1.0- game loaded, car name turned white, but my cursor froze on GT Home screen. :confused:

Upgraded to ver. 1.05 tried again same thing. :boggled:

Went ahead and upgraded to ver 2.05. Car was still white, switched cars no problem. :odd:

Going to try an academy on ver 2.05 next...

Yes I'm sure the x2011 prototype is the dlc car it comes with the r34 r35 and r33 tc cars plus more. I got my s vettel by the borrow glitch

Okey well it said on the original post that you will lose DLC and have to reinstall it, but apparently it has changed since theotherspongey last updated it. This is good because i feared i would lose alot of the DLC cars i had and paints i had.
 
I'm pretty sure as long as you cancel update on the 2nd patch so 2/17 you can do this with no problem and yea I never worried about losing dlc but not losing it is a plus.

Oh my bad i thought for sure it was one,:ouch: I need to know about that GTR (the first one you race in GT Academy, note that i said GTR and not skyline) because i lost mine and have no way of getting it back any other way. If you do this, i need to know everything before i do it.
 
No luck sponging an Academy car on ver. 2.05. :indiff:

Game wouldn't load, got stuck on title screen.

2.07 is the big update, the Academy's are probably included in that one?

I still think it's worth a shot if there is another update. You might have to be updated up to 2.07, without it being the latest update. :crazy:
 
It dont work anymore, after trying this since i lost data and lost 2 GT academy 2012 cars I discover that it's something encrypted in the save data, this don't allow a save data to load the game with that save
 
I am putting the academy car borrow trick into action starting now before I go to bed, I will run updates while I'm asleep and let everyone know 100% yes or no if it works on academy cars!!! 👍

This was my last post on 2 other threads, you are 100% correct, game will not load while in a borrowed GT Academy car :(
 
Same here... Won't load when borrowing an Academy car (Nissan 370Z (GT Academy Version) '08 to be exact). Fvck3r$.

Reinstall started at 11:50PM. Now let's see how long it takes with a fully wired 20mbit connection.

Are you guys sure the glitch still works properly? Because the following is happening to me; I just borrowed the Dodge Viper GTS-R Team Oreca #91 Race Car '00 from someone. I deleted the game data, started the game without updating, and now the cursor seems to be frozen on 'GT Life'... Can't do anything! Except for going to XMB menu. Even the background is moving in GT5. So it's just the cursor that seems to be locked by GT5...

Download the first update (1.05), cancel when 2/17 (1.06) starts.
 
Download and install 1.05.
Go to your garage and switch cars.
You are now the owner of a new vehicle.
Install main game data.
 
Do I have to re-download all the patches? Is there no way to update from a file or something? My connections download limit is only 40gb per month from foreign countries and all the patches are about 4,5gb I think and I've already used up 36gb, so I have to try and avoid downloading 4gb's from other countries than Iceland until next Saturday...
 
I tried this glitch. Unfortunately the car I borrowed would still have the read key (it wasn't mine) after deleting the game data and restarting the game (I followed all the instructions and tried this glitch twice).
(I lost most of my car thumbnails and it took several hours to download the 2.07 update as expected.)

I bought GT 5 in May 2012. Could it be that this glitch doesn't work with newer CD versions?

What car were you trying to sponge? New academy cars can't be sponge glitched.👍

I don't know? Sorry. I have not read about the newer disc not working.

You could also try your luck with a '70 ticket.

Whats the office word does the Glitch work or no workie?..Saw there is no way to glitch Academy cars which sucks had an account not receive the last four got the first four so was going to glitch from one to another.......are there still file size concerns also? Any help would be helpful also anyone with a slew of cars wanna be my online friend lol?
 
So, we should get a multi-boot PS3 :)
One with old system and one with new system...

It will not work with the Academy Edition disc.
