Yes. I currently own XL thus not being able to do the glitch. But with all the new cars out I really want them so I'm thinking about getting regular GT5. If I get what your saying. You say that after you did the 1st update and save (or whatever :lol:) just pop in XL, download the rest of updates and boom?

Just explained above on and edit.:D The final stages when you go for the big update to see if you have the borrowed car in your garage you could use the XL edition which would save a massive amount of download time?

Can anyone send me a hacked delorean? I want that car, I cant borrow glitch or anything because I have the gt5 (XL/Platinum?) and I really want a hacked delorean :)

dude i have looked everywhere but as soon as i download the 1st patch i stop wen 2nd bout to start then i play gt5 then go to menu then when it loads up the cursor freezes and can't move around to go garage ect but the actual ps3 isn't frozen as i can still press the ps button can anyone help me out please?

Before you do anything change to the first backround and color in GT5.
 
i just found out about that ain't you 100% it will work mate? i got technique right hopefully correct me if wrong.
borrow car save data delete data then download 1st patch go to game deny some pop ups then change car save it reinstall every patch?
 
There could be issues when changing cars. You don't need to do that. Simply select "save" from the first menu instead of going into the GT Menu. Borrow glitch will not work if you start up the new game using anything other than the original disc.

You don't need to worry about background and such things if you simply save. You do not need to go into GT Life. If you do you may have issues. So why do it? You don't need to do that for borrow glitch to work.
 
Yeah I found this out because, I can't find my original disc.:dunce: I'm running the XL and the sponging ain't working for me..:ouch:

I've received a variety from some people already, thanks brother. I'm actually trying to help a friend out. From some reason he turned from an alien into a collector. I dunno what happened to him.

Yeah, you need to get the game back to original disc state and then only update to 1.05, the first update. The update after that I guess included the ability to borrow cars from friends, so when you start up the car is still borrowed.
 
Could any1 tell me what to change my theme colour profile pic and wallpaper to for this to work please? And what do you mean about the discs
 
You don't bother worrying about profile pic an wallpaper if you don't go into GT Menu. Instead all you need to do is select the ''Save" button on the right side of the main menu, just to the left of the DLC button. If for some reason you feel compelled to go into GT Menu and change cars, then yes, worry about wallpaper and stuff. The info is up there somewhere in this thread.
 
Do you have the original release disc? XL and the new ones will not work. They are good for saving on downloading updates after the glitch, but they will not allow you to get the game to 1.05 and permanently borrow the car.

will it also work on the platinum editon which has version 1.13 on the disc

I believe I have figured out a way to do more than one car with the borrow glitch at once. Stay tuned for results.

Would be a massive help for those in search of the new type of cars in GT5.:D Plus any new folk coming a long with smallish saves.
