Permanent Borrow Glitch Trading Thread

now please explain me like i am "slow"

1. change wallpaper to the 1st one(how the f should i know which one is "the original" 1st one from up or 1st one from down? and what colour should i put?

2. THEN I BORROW A CAR

3. After that i delete game data

4. Then i patch it to the 1st (608 MB)

5. Then i go to gt5 life (crusor should move then?!)

6. Switch the car

7.Exit

8.Get back in gt5

9. Patch all patches

10. And it should work?!?

Please tell me if i m right or wrong (did i get it) and answer my questions from 1. st and 5.th point) Thank you very much for your patience and sorry if i m "a bit angry" i am kindo losing my nervs....

4. Load GT5, download and install update 1 (608MB) Cancel when you see 2/20.
5. Reload GT5, skip updates, change to car from garage (no gt acadamy cars or dlc)
6. Save and exit, reload and install all updates.
7. Done

Any questions, please read back a couple pages before you post. The same questions are being answered over and over again lol

I have ALL 7 FTO Super Touring Liveries. Some have miles on them but i'm almost certain the black one and green one are zero miles. I have six on share excluding the black one.
 
GT5 XL has update 2.01 integrated, so that's as low as it will go even after you delete the updates on the PS3. To answer your question, no it will not work. You need the original 1.0 version of GT5.

Dang. Wish my regular GT5 disc world not have split in half...
 
go to the computer playroom who has ps3 s and gt5 s , add yourself, add person who has the car u want to borrow ...... borrow the car, do the glitch (in playroom) and when you re done, send it to yourself .... xd

What if i want to permaborrow 4 cars. If i do it like this does it work?

You need to be GT5 latest version to get online borrow cars..
 
wirst change your wallpaper to the toppest one and change colour to the leftesst one xd.... borrow car exit delete game data , download and install first patch (608mb) go to game change car save and quit, turn gt5 back patch the rest(approx 2hrs) and enjoy your new car
 
no after i deleted the game data i restarted GT5, but got the prompt i had to store it on the PS3 hard driver or the game wouldnt start at all, i then got that over with, refused patches and GT5 installation, and went into GT MODE, i then saw the car but it had red letters and the key, then i got the present 202 A issue, where i have to redownload all my DLC thing is, if i do that then i'll have to do the glitch all over again,
Like i said, i followed everysinge step. etc etc.
 
Do not refuse to download patches !! Patch the first one (608mb) and when it downloads and installs and starts do download 2nd patch press cancel and go to the game , garage, chane car, save exit, start game again and patch the rest. REMEMBER : the firstest thing you have to do is to change your wallpaper to the one on the top and colour of your menu to the one (first on left) ! of you dont do it you will not be able to move your crousor(mouse).
 
Ok this is what i did in detail.

. Back up current save file to a second [or third] location. [I.E. PC, USB flash device, or external HDD.]
2. Start up Gran Turismo 5 and borrow a car from someone on your friends list.
3. Save your game. [You don't have to due to auto save, but I always manually save.]
4. Quit the game to the XMB.
5. Delete the GAME DATA, NOT THE GAME SAVE. [It will take about 5 minutes if it's the first time, it will delete quicker after this first time. The Game DATA is located in the top folder on the 'game' tab in the XMB.]
6. Start up Gran Turismo 5.
7. Refuse to download patches. [Press CIRCLE when the message comes up.]
8. Refuse to install the game to HDD.
9. When the game loads, go in to 'GT Mode.'
10. You will see you own the borrowed car [letters not red, no key next to it], but make sure you change to a different car from your garage. [Do NOT buy one from the NCD or OCD.]
11. Save your game. [Again, you don't have to due to auto save, but I always manually save.]
12. Quit the game to XMB.
13. Start up Gran Turismo 5.
14. Download the game patches/updates.
15. Refuse to install game to HDD, unless you won't sponge again.
16. Go into 'GT Mode,' go to your garage, check out and enjoy your new car.

I did steps 1-9 when i got into the GT mode the first time i ran into the Present 202 a screen, and i saw the letters on the car were still red with the key, Now i am able to get into the GT mode, but the letters of the car is still red and the key is still there, Thats where i am currently And i am very confused.

I even click on GT auto and get the "Borrowed car message" so what exactly did i do wrong?

Should i delete the game data again and start over, i mean i don't mind with the updates seeing as how i get 35mbps

But i have to go to work soon and want to finish this.

Now i am getting somewhere, but instead of having 1 608 mb download, i got two 200's mb downloads, is that the same? also i am on the GT5 XL disc
 
This is using the original disc. I don't think borrow glitch works with XL as it will probably always recognize the borrowed cars as such, and never dump it into your garage.
 
GOT IT! thanks man, i have 3 copies of GT5, and 1 XL so yea, thank you very much.... Also, this is a very fast process... i see i could do this 24 minutes per car..
 
I'm actually trying this right now with one of your cars, Oshawa (you know which one ;) ). It's downloading all the patches as I type this.

Hopefully when I wake up, it'll be done and it works. I'm crossing my fingers! :)

Anywho. If I we're to buy reg GT5 for this purpose.. Can anyone please tell me the estimated time to download all the updates with an internet speed of 3mbps? If its like 15 hours then 🤬 it lol.

Don,t know the time for you depends on what traffic you have while downloading. But if you can do the maths its about 4 Gig of data to download.

If you use and do all above and follow the instructions correctly.
When you have done the glitch and go for the updates to finalise the save, You could then use a GT XL disc that will take you straight to 2.01 update.:D
Saves on alot of downloading?

Like in section 6 thats the time to use a disc with the more recent updates on instead of downloading option?

Yes. I currently own XL thus not being able to do the glitch. But with all the new cars out I really want them so I'm thinking about getting regular GT5. If I get what your saying. You say that after you did the 1st update and save (or whatever :lol:) just pop in XL, download the rest of updates and boom?
