I finally got my 360 last night at about 12:30. (After sitting in a line at Wal Mart for almost 10 hours) I just started playing PGR, but I can say all of the rumors that the game looks like **** on a non-HDTV, are FALSE.
After test driving a few cars - Lamborghini Diablos, C6 Corvette, Skyline, the Atom absolutely amazed me. This car is insane!! Well.. back to the game.

Q:Then why are the pics in 1280x720 and not 1024x600? I think lying about HD is "trickery".
A:The game outputs at 720p... i.e. 1280x720 pixels. The debug software we use to develop the game can output to lots of resolutions, probably all the way down to 1x1. It also goes all the way up to [insert large number here]x[insert large number here]. -Ben Bizarre Dev

Well, you can call me all you want but at the end of the day I look at both those pics and laugh because I don't see ANY rational reason to get a $400 system and a $60 game when the CURRENT stuff from a competing system is just as good. So, a fanboy and troll I maybe but at least I'm not a sucker for what looks to be a really ****ty system/game. BTW, the reason he said just buildings is because that's the only thing this game beats GT4 in (I suppose). There is no reason to mention the others because THERE IS NO CONTEST to be had.

Okay, cast your minds back to when the PS2 came out. Ohh the hype, it looked ace. Then it came out, and it was "WTF, these games look worse then Dreamcast games". And now look at it. See my point? No, you won't because you have the fanboy mentality I did when I was 10. I grew up, you didn't.
And if you think the buildings are the only thing that look better in that picture, then your a liar, who's so obsessed with Sony that it's pathetic. It's like saying Sega Rally looks better then GT4, because you like Sega more then Sony.
How is PGR3 ****? Most people are really enjoying it, and I hardly call review scores of 88-91 ish ****. And how is the 360 ****? The specs on that thing are bloody mighty. If PGR3 is anything like the last ones, it will be great fun. I won't be buying a 360 for a while yet, I'll let the price drop, and the 2nd gen of games come out before I do that. This is what I do with any machine.
Obviously the 360 will have teething problems, all new consoles do. Some duds here and there, and the launch line up is NEVER amazing on any machine. Give it time.
Listen man, here's a tip. Enjoy games for what they are, as stupid console loyalty (brown nosing) just means you miss a whole heap of great games. Pretending that games suck just because they arn't on the console you "bum" also makes you look really really stupid. My stupid sega loyalty meant I missed awesome stuff like yoshis island etc at the time.
I've seen people like you before "ZOMG MS MADE IT LYKE< THIS GAME SUX", or "PS2 IS LYKE BLOCKY AND STooFF< XBOX 4EVA". These people suck.

I've been sticking to facts so... I'll give an example to why my stuff is valid and not this childish fanboy label.
Take a look at 3D render Cars. Now take a look at both cars from the games, which one pulls off realism better??
I'm paying these gaming companies for how well the can produce something in the game that looks the closest to reality with the technology they have at their disposal. PS2 and GT4 do it much better hands down than xPos 360 and PGR3 just by looking at it, we having even gotten into the other details like physics. Now, why would I waste $460 on another system when I've had one for awhile that does it better?

Those arn't ingame though.
Even then... GT4 even GT3 are the only games I know of ever, where they don't look like "shells" (an actual car body not just a sheet rapped in the form of a car) like in PGR.
I guess PGR has gotten better in that department but now they look really toyish or plasticky.

PGR = ARCADE GAME. ITS COSMETIC. The fact that your complaining that it's not realistic is like moaning that Sonic doesn't have correct hedgehog jumping heights.
PGR is about sliding round corners, gaining kudos, at silly speeds. Nothing more. And for this, I love the series.
I choose any damage over rubber banding off walls with not even a scratch.
Nit picking games is easy man, I could go on about Gt4 all day. Ahem reverse lights. See, easy.

Lock up your brakes in GT4. Go ahead, do it. And if you think it has realistic sounds, you're absolutely nuts. Forza has better sound than GT4. PGR3 has better sound than GT4. I love GT4, but I admit the sound absolutely SUCKS.
And BTW, both of those pics are in-game.

That's an awfully nicely modelled gas ca-oh. It's a texture.
Those are nicely modelled NUTS and BOLTS on the wing, dontcha think? It's details like that, and the mesh grille, that set those car models apart from GT4's.
Then what the hell is that vid? and your comparison shot? And yes, overall the sounds suck but there are a few good ones. It's not that big a deal anyway, because they'll get it right in 5 ( they better 
).
