Vicious ... did you rebrush the whole car including windows?
because in such big resolution
you must clean up alot = almost repaint the whole thing
btw ... I really like that custom wheels
The windows were actually left untouched. As for the res, that is an easy one. Since I did not plan to use any of the BG in the final image, I just shot the car in panorama and stitched 4 shots together. That way the car height is the same as the original image - 960px.

I did repaint the entire car but only in an overlay mode. The rest was just cleaned up with the Photoshop PhotoMode Clean-Up Tutorial except the wheel wells. For those, I use paths to recreate the outlines and then use the SMUDGE tool to push the paint around where it is missing or needs to be removed.

Now the wheels are completely custom. I rendered the wheels and tires in 3DS Max and the brake assembly is all from images on the web.

wow ... I thought you photoshop the tires and wheels
they look real nice btw

Holy Moly!.... Okay Vicious, if you're gonna do stuff like make your own wheel designs,
you should tell use from the get-go! That's brilliant :D 👍

I was under the initial impression it was 'a grab'.
Keep filling us in on the details...

i have something to ask (i actually asked it before, but i think you didn't see it)
Is that the rockstar logo on the front of the car?

Cool! I need to get a copy of 3DS Max 6 or 7. I have taken a few classes on modeling and texturing, but I have'nt really gotten into it as much as I would like because I can't find anybody that can get me a copy! I have download 2, 30-day trial versions of 6 and 7, but they expired long ago! I do have Autocad 2004, and I can pretty much take it as far as it can go when it comes to solid modeling, but it just does'nt have the rendering package that Max does.

Anyway, really sweet entry! Top notch.👍 I think I am gonna jump in on this tonight, get myself a spot! Heck, I may even go as far as to model some wheels in AutoCad, but that may be a bit to time consuming!

I use Lightwave 6.5 (an older version). Nice, but (for me) a tough learning curve.
Unsure whether they have a trial version.

That is why I DL'ed the ones I used and just rendered them in 3DS. That and I do not know how to use Max worth a crap ... :indiff:

I have all the 3D apps but can not use any of them; I can only render in 3DS.

What I need is a good tutor to sit beside me and show me how it all works. PooDoo!

Know what you mean! Lightwave took me a year and a half to get the *&%%$%#@ basics of modelling.
Used Strata 3D before that (horrible) and before that Adobe Dimensions (also horrible).
I can animate flightpaths and stuff like that, but bones and skelegons and stuff... Yikes.
Lightwave's great for rendering. It does a nice job. As does 3DS.

Yeah, bones and skeletons and bipeds are tough! I had an animation class in the spring, but had to drop it because I was totaly lost with it! I think I may have done ok if I would of had a copy of Max to mess around with, but I don't have $3,000+ to drop on a computer program!

Here are a couple things I hvae done:
All 3DS Max, except the wheels and motor... Did them in AutoCad.

All 3DS Max.

All AutoCad.

All AutoCad.

Modeled in Rhinoceros, Rendered in Flamingo.

Oh man! Excellent job! 👍 👍
Are they all modelled from scratch? ('cause that's tough)...

Everything but the colums. The colums was a project that I just had to put textures on. But it does'nt really have any complicated objects. I really enjoy texturing more than modeling to be honest!

Wow you guys own me in 3DS Max. Sorry for getting off topic, but here...

Anyways I'm going to try to enter this week.

Those models look really nice!👍 You just need a little help with the textures.

Unsure why you're down on your design (it's not poo-like at all). I think it's great Alpha! Rock on NZ!

FYI: Been on the planet for a while now and this is the first time I think I've ever used the term 'poo-like'.

Off-topic: Is the proposed new Flag big news 'down' there?(or up, depending on how you look at it)

And Franz, Mr. Toad was out test-driving cars until 2:00 am last night,
and he thinks he's found the right car (vroom-vroom).
It's a nice fast motor (900 HP)... now all I have to do is the work!
Don't believe I'm going to do the '3D rendered wheels thing' though,
lets leave that for a 3D compo!

as requested toadie... i added a pair of sponsors.. however, who says it has to have sponsors to be a team

Thank you Suzie :)

Correct me if I'm wrong.... sponsors = dollars = racing = fun.
Never was good at math but this does seem to add up:D

well u gotta figure, anyone who has the money to race a luxury car shouldn't need help buying stuff for it ;)
