@BobK You earlier posted some photos of Admiral John Fisher, Royal Navy. Just a trivium to add to that; did you know that he has the first recorded use of OMG, meaning Oh My God? He wrote it in a letter to Churchill, who was First Lord of the Admiralty at the time, late on in the war.
Funnily enough he explained that it was "Oh! My God!" in parentheses next to it.
