You see kids, selfies aren't a recent thing and they were all made without a darn selfie stick too!
Here's one by Finnish-Swedish poet Edith Södergran (1892 - 1923). Note the tape measure she's holding, after having measured the distance from the lens. No auto-focus back then! Picture was taken in Davos in Switzerland, where she spent a couple of years (1912 - 1914) at a sanatorium to get cured from tuberculosis.
