Fortnight 6

pscompthemebannerwx3.jpg

This week the theme will be
My own race car chosen by Fortnight 5 winnerhttp://img222.imageshack.us/img222/5127/mugens2000integraeditmf3.jpg, Danger Orange.

Take a photo of a street car racing against race cars, then make the street car into your own race car.. anything goes, as long as the base photo is from gt4... at least 2 cars.

Cars: Any
Tracks:
Any
Phototravel: No

Have Fun!

So, we take a pic from GT4 with racing cars wherever, and put a real car in it? Is that it?

I think he means you use a stock road car and then transform it into a racing car with stuff like racing body kits like seen on FIA GT cars and stickers like from sponsors.

Is it even possible to get racecars to be in the lineup when you have a streetcar? I'm pretty sure you can't...
Looks like I have to photoshop both cars...

I think you can do it with some tuned Supercars and maybe some non tuned Supercars.

Just enter any event that has all race cars with a street car that fits the rules for that event.

Adding stickers, sponsors, etc., in a street car... hmmmm..... 💡

Thanks, TVR&FF! 👍

Also remember try to make it look like a car, which races in Motorsports like the FIA GT.

You could also use some of the tuner cars as a base, like the carbon R.. & I know for a fact that you can enter ANY car in the JGTC races.

What race do I go to in order to get up against cars like the Honda S800?

I think the best way to get a road car against a race car is make the road car very fast, go to family cup or whatever it is, set it to the hardest setting.

Sorry, but it says in the theme that at least 2 cars need to be in the shot... I'm gonna try to do a Fiat race car too though, so... we'll see.

Man, thank God this comp runs for a few more days, I'm having a HARD time completing my image. It's only about 17.53% done so far... :)

I had to take about 120 pics, then narrowed it down do 9 that were really, really good. Been downloading logos and stuff from the net, but none of them on the car so far, since I decided to make a hand-paint of the finished car first to see how it all goes together.

I only wish I had PS skills like some guys here have, it's always frustrating to have something on your mind that's just awesome and then not being able to replicate it on the screen like you'd wish to...

It's a hard theme, I may actually have some time to get something together this fortnight :D

You mean the distort tool within the free transfom (for decals)?

Or the liquify and then distort?

Yeah, for stickers, body parts,ect.. it just under Edit, then select Distort. In my experience its the best tool for getting the prespective just right....

I don't think my PS (the 6.0) has it like that, at least not on the 'Edit'. Gotta check again, though.

But the perspective of the logos and decals is what's really making it hard for me, can't seem to put them in the same angle of view as the car.

Btw, is there a way to "warp" the decals so they fit the undulations of the car, like a bump in the hood? Really appreciated some help on this one.

Good luck to all.

If anyone needs links to Company logos in eps format. EPS files can be sized to say 3000x3000 pixels while still mainting a smooth crisp line. The website is http://www.brandsoftheworld.com/ . Hope that can help you guys.

Remember to match your color tones with the enviroment and lighting. A very flat color with little or no texture looks cartoony. But I am pretty sure you all know that. Using I believe "Multiply" and sometimes "Overlay" as the layer type will help your graphic use some of the texture properties of the cars body. This works the best pretty much only on white. Just some tips if anyone is kind of stuck....

What you need to do is use the polygonal lasso tool to make a clean selection through your layer where the contour of the body is & then use the distort tool to match the prespective. You might have to do this several times to get it just right...

There is a tool in PS to match the perspective!? *Sigh* It's all free hand editing in Gimp. :indiff: Or am I missing something?
