Here's an old design I did; the concept was simple - a gun that eschews standardization for a number of proprietary magnetic mounts, while using the far less common 7.62x39 ammmunition (i.e. AK-type ammo).
But, of course, should the situation require so, it can be fitted with rail modules.

C99-08GB Ae-S Contact Assault Rifle
- The Ae-S is the ultimate full-time assault weapon, combining technological prowess with unmitigated brute force.
- A visual projector mounted onto a hard point rests behind the butt of the rear stock, projecting reserved ammunition rounds, barrel temperature, wind speed, a small-scale map (reliant upon satellite GPS data), and can be used as a camera with up to 35x zoom capacity. When used in an environment that lacks definite light, the projector can be adjusted to project high beams.
- 82 round magazine mounted underneath the grip.
- An adjustable arm mount that serves as a dampening tool that minimizes the forced drawback when firing the weapon.
- When in need of crowd control, the Ae-S has a tertiary function via the rear stock; at the whim of it's user the Ae-S stores concentrated energy that can be used to knock back or completely incapacitate the enemy when the stock is held down to the ground and a specialized trigger is depressed. Releasing the concentrated energy in the form of kinetic shockwaves.
