Pit stops are broken

I'm doing my first b-spec endurance race. I wanted to just see what he'd do on his own since I don't want to have to babysit b-spec endurance races, so I didnt input anything.

My bob pits when his tires and fuel are low. Gets new tires just fine, but doesnt deal with the fuel. Goes out, and on the very next lap pits again, and basically just sits there for a solid 30 seconds, but finally gets fuel.

Obviously this isnt normal. Hopefully it will be dealt with in an upcoming patch.

B-spec is not auto-grinding. You're supposed to be Bob's team manager :P
Fuel takes a long time to load, that's probably the reason why it takes 30 seconds. You don't actually see the fuel meter go up while refueling, but they're not just sitting there.

So, don't think it's broken, but you have to give Bob some orders now and then if you want him to do a good job :)

His problem wasn't the time it takes to refuel, though that is a problem for another day. His problem is that his driver stops on consecutive laps, once for tires, then for fuel. It's terrible coding.

Did this happen more than once? I'm asing because if it only happened once, it is possible your Bob only needed tyres when he pitted first time - maybe intermediate tyres for racing or vice versus (weather depending) - then, typically, after pitting for tyres, his fuel then reached the level where it needed auto-filling, so he pitted for that.

I'm not sure if a B-Spec pit would automatically fuel every time the car pits, regardless of level as this would cost Bob time. Just a thought.

This seems to happen near the end of races more. I remember when I ran the 4 hour race at the Ring my bob would almost come in every lap to pit with less than an hour left. I only remember seeing this once but its possible it is an isolated bug/glitch.

If the track is long enough Bob could have pitted for a fresh set of tires but fuel wasn't critical yet so he didn't get fuel? Even so, you'd think the AI pit crew would be smart enough to refuel with the tire change.

I also encountered a similar bug. While running the FGT series, Bob would usually pit towards the end of the races for fuel and the crew would give him just enough to finish the race. So when Bob pitted about 2 laps from the end of the 24hrs Le Mans race, I thought the same would happen... nope, the crew topped off the tank! LoL!

So I guess its not just Bob that is dense; the pit crew are as well. :P

The pit crew has no concept of how many laps are left in timed races. If you pit for fuel with one minute left in a 24h race, the crew will fill it all the way up, instead of saving time on pit road.

Pit crew (and the game) has no concept of doing a fuel only stop :banghead:. My tires are fine why do I need to put fresh ones on?

Yea that happened to me when I was watching I'm like what? Also another patch would be that glitch on super stage route 7 that you get like 4 second laps and 3.6 million cr. And xp in 20 minutes. 200 LAPS ON A 10 MINUTE LAP TRACK IN 20 MINUTES. We need an IMMEDIATE patch!

Yeah its not working properly. His fuel wasnt in the red, but it was VERY low, half a lap away from red. He pits, gets new tires, leaves, then pits again after that.

The AI should be smart enough to know that first pit was a good time to throw some fuel in. And I noticed in the dialogue that it said 96 liters by default on that first pit, but I didnt press OK, I just let it do its thing to see what would happen, and they didnt put any in.

There is no way im babysitting this thing on endurance races. If they cant win them without me then I dont even want to bother with it until they patch it. How am I going to babysit one of those 24 hours races to ensure they win? Not happening.
