I've never really used the Corvette and I'm liking it, we're actually using today's race weather so it'll be a rain/dry set-up that's going to be used, thinking a shorter ratio in the gearing, if you have some gearing ratios they'd be appreciated?

To be honest I have always used the OEM Default gear ratio on the Corvette C7R.

Question because I not too sure.
Previously I've had in Settings: Driver Assists:-->"Realistic". (Default for TC I think is "10". ABS whatever it is).
Since for this series Host settings is Driver Assists: OFF, I've turn it Off myself for practising and racing the series. Car/s handling pretty ok IMO.

Question is: Is it better to generally race with Driver Assists to OFF? Does it make the car/s slower with TC on?
....And if Driver Assists is On, re TC is Default "10" more traction (make car slower)....and the higher the number less traction (make car faster) with "100" = No traction control (same as if TC is turned off?)

Question: Is it better to "generally" race with Driver Assists turned OFF?

Answer: Yes, it is "generally" better to race with them turned OFF. It will, over time, improve your pedal skill, in terms of, throttle control and managing brake lock-up. Without the Driver Assists turned ON, it is entirely up to your pedal skill to get the most out of the brakes and throttle. Meaning, it will teach how to "roll" on to the throttle out of corners, and how to cadence brake to mitigate / prevent lock-up.

Question: Does it make the car/s slower with TC on?

Answer: That depends on the situation. In rain conditions cars with TC will end up being faster than cars with out. This is due to the TC doing all the work of controlling wheel spin as you apply throttle.

In Dry conditions No TC or very low TC will always be faster. In dry conditions if TC does kick on it will mitigate wheel spin as intended, BUT it will slow you down cause you are not accelerating as fast as possible out of the corner.

Thus, to summarize, In the wet TC ON is faster, in the dry TC OFF is faster.

Question: What does the Traction Control "number / setting" mean?

Answer: The number / setting value associated with Traction Control in the setup screen is actually a percentage value. It is the percentage of wheel spin allowed before TC will activate. For example the DEFAULT value of TC is 10. This means up to 10% wheel slip / spin is allowed before the TC will activate and begin trying to mitigate wheel spin. If you begin increasing that number to 15% or 20% you are just allowing MORE wheel spin not less before TC will activate.

Thus, yes, as you summarized above, that is correct. Once you hit 100% wheel spin essentially TC is OFF cause it will never activate.

The Ferrari uses no assists like the Panoz Esperante GTR1, I find it no different in game with it off because it doesn't use. Not sure if that answers your question but that's why I chose the Panoz.

Anyone up for a practice room at LeMans tonight?? @HazardLvL4 really struggling with the Merc there. Any help would be appreciated.

I think it may be a mute point as I think the GT-One is the car to have there - it seems it's the fastest ride there no matter the platform.

Yea, I planned on hopping on this afternoon from some practice. I can provide some help with the Merc.

The Toyota GT-One will be the fastest in the GT1 class at LeMans, hands down.

How did the fastest guys end up with the fastest car, at the fastest track... ? :odd:

Well I had originally picked Brands Hatch to try to keep everything BOP'ed, but there were grumblings about Brand Hatch and remarks that these cars were made for LeMans. Thus, I said screw it and told @Alex ONeill to change the track choice. This way everyone gets to see first hand why running some tracks in mixed classes is not the best idea for the weekly series.

So yes, the Toyota's will be head by 30+ seconds by the time it is all said an done, barring not major mistakes on their part.

Ran some carpet on-road Friday night... Was disappointed that there were only 3 each in Formula 1 and 1/12th scale. Had fun though regardless.

Formula 1 - I ran my new VBC Racing FX18 (ran the Roche Evo USA spec last time) and the car was simply a joy to drive. Almost got beat in the first heat, up against an Xray X1 2019 and a Team Associated F6, but the driver of the Xray made a small bobble and I got by with about 2 minutes to go, ended up running 24 laps in Q1. I made two small changes to the F1, softer front springs and lightened the side damper tube grease from 7k to 3k and the car was on a rail. Ended up running 28 laps in Q2. The guy in the F6 was having some issues in the main and never really got it sorted...

Ran 30 laps in the main and had a consistency over 96% - I'm usually aiming for anything over 90%. 👍

1/12th scale

Ran the new 1/12th scale also. Car was very good all night, been running 1/12th scale off/on for about 30 years. Was pleased how it performed, although it took a bit to get used to. Normally run a ball diff on the car but opted for the ever increasingly popular spool (or one-way) axle on the rear. Car was very quick, but drove decidedly different from a normal ball diff. I'm used to being able to release the throttle fully with a ball diff, but with the spool setup it was not liking ZERO throttle input. So I had to get used to staying "on-throttle" through a turn, where I would normally just lift if I needed some turn-in (experiencing oversteer). Once I was able to get my lines into, and especially, out of the turns (mainly the greater than 90* turns) it was faster than my other car. Had a good day of racing overall.

I think I could have gotten 34 laps pretty easily but I smacked a barrier starting the last lap, and that last lap ended up being over 16"s. Dropped my consistency in the toilet as well. Broke the upper A arm on the left and it was a mostly right turn track, but oh well, there's always next time. If you take out my last lap, and add in my next slowest lap my average lap would have been ~10.3, so I know I could have squeezed out a 34 lap run. I was pushing for a 9.5 lap time as well (was challenged by the track owner, as no one had gotten into the 10's on that layout before my buddy Bobby (Uncle Bobby B, baby) and I showed up.

I love on road racing R/C. If you have a chance, and depending on where you live, I would suggest going and checking out some carpet R/C racing. Too much fun!!

Well I did 12 laps in 45 min against the AI with 15 minutes of rain at the end because I didn't get a invite... Not sure how your going to do a caution lap, well I do but....ahh ,it is what it is.

Sorry @bigtimedave, I will be on again tonight running some practice. I need to see if I can improve the gearbox on the Porsche for acceleration at LeMans. If you want I can shoot you an invite?

Honestly, the Mad Box has a snowballs chance in Hell of actually coming to commercial availability let alone generating any sales numbers to make Microsoft, SONY, or Nintendo break a sweat. I mean if they actually get this thing in the public's hands, who is going to make games for it? How many games will it have as launch titles? Well I can answer that, it is 1. 1 developer and 1 title. SMS and PCars 3. Thats it... Not worth it IMO. I think we are quickly approaching the crossroads that will drive this league to make a move to PC.
