I myself had so many issues yesterday. I really just did not understand. I knew going in that I was more than likely going to me in last place for each race and was totally cool with that as I wanted to be able at least somewhat competitive and learn. Well it just did not happen. I tried so hard to mimic the anticipated conditions during all race modes and it was going pretty well in my practice leading up the race. Most of the time running a 1:45 (fairly clean) but was able to get down to 1:44 and be able to competitively play with AI. Was feeling really go about things going in. I think even in practice I had some issues but I did somewhat how I expected. I think I may have even put down a clean 1:43 which I was stoked about, for me. I know you pros are much better but like I said before I completely new to this. I had no clue about racing and tuning a car before getting into PC2 but I tried to bone up on as much info as I could and apply it. I stayed with me tuning via tips and post and such as a way to learn the ropes and applying that to yesterday's race rather than grabbing some shared tunes. Still there is some stuff. In practice (at home) I was running clean laps and good lines and somewhat fluid. Yesterday not so much. I heard Old Bear (can't find his tag) you did not need to go off the track to move over but thanks, in the 2nd chicane. Well you are welcome (i really mean that) but when I applied the brakes the car locked up and slid me off to the side in the grass, it was not intentional Had so many braking issues that did not present itself in practice. Anyway in T3 the car just out of nowhere it was right turn clyde into the <insert your favorite> wall. Just retired to the pits and called it day. I can't find a choking emoticon, probably protical incorrect this days, so this well have to do to describe my day. :boggled::banghead::boggled::grumpy::mad::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::embarrassed:
No worries...

Guess I'm changing the car. I was trying different cars last night in X-rads, room. Could get 52s with the Cayman no problem. Steady 52s with the Ginetta, not sure if he had tire wear set to accelerated. But hardly any tire wear. High 52s with the Aston Martin, but tires wear quicker and handling goes away.
Any normal person would choose the Ginetta or the Cayman, but that's not how I roll, lol. My final car choice will be the Aston Martin, not sure of livery and number yet.

The Vantage was a pretty predictable car out the box when I tried it. It should give you good consistency. Push the tires though, and the weight of the car eats them for lunch.

Understood. Was trying to avoid the back and forth between what was ahead of me on the first lap on 2 separate incidents. Second time I could not avoid the car that bounced across the track in front of me. I was not involved in the smacking back and forth but paid the price. So yes I was a little frustrated. Plus the best I was running was a 1:57. Reverse grid is not something that I should take place in at that pace. Plus I find your shaming in poor taste but I will accept if that is what the standard is at PITS

Ya shoulda stuck around... my pit crew messed up my tire pressures, went from 6th to last. Two pit stops and no better...I was running 1:59s

Clearly the wagons are circling. Sorry for leaving if that makes everyone feel better. But for what it is worth what was going one in front of me was not clean and I tried to stays clear of it. I can accept that I was caught up in it, it happens. I am not ask for understanding but if you think I am going to sit back while @Falango takes a shot at me and say nothing that is another story.

@ONESPACE

Thanks for sharing your setup. In the end I stuck with mine. Yours were a little too loose, especially through those esses where you go uphill on the exit. However on the rest of the track it worked well and it turned very well at the hairpin. It also felt if I could brake a little later, but not too sure.

I can share my tune if you are interested, but I don't know how to do it if we are not in the same room. (Screen Shots?). It might be too stable for you. Next week's track might need a little more stability through high speed esses and elevation changes ... Let me know

I'm not taking a shot at you, I'm informing you that we appreciate the spirit of the racing over the speed. We have come across several bugs, mostly related to pit stops, that wreck peoples races, yet we still go round. Lap 1 incidents happen, just have to adjust to the scenario. We run mandatory pit stops, so its a second chance at getting back in the fight if you have to make your stop on lap 1, since others will have to pit too.

Certainly does not feel that way and in no way did I publicly call it out, you did. Not sure what you call it. I simply communicated what was going on. I am well aware of what your point is.

UPDATE:

I AM ASKING FOR A CHANGE, to my track selection. Still at Sonoma BUT, can we start at 1900 hrs on July 30th, 1960 (Ha, ha, ha). Just kidding, 2017 will do.
This time of day will be cooler and easier on the engine temps.

I realize I'm coming into this mid season but I would like to throw my hat into the ring. Looks like you have a full field of entrants but I saw some of the Imola race and it appear not to be full.

GTPlanet ID: oldguy58
PSN ID: Gnome_V8
Car/livery: I'll probably be sorry but going with BMW M3, Bilstein #141
I understand and accept the S.N.A.I.L. OLR.

Looking forward to some good racing.
I'll also be sending friends request to @Alex ONeill , @HazardLvL4

Thanks for your consideration and look forward to hearing from you.

Good Morning @oldguy58

Welcome to the PITS community! We are glad to have you, and are excited to see you have taken interest in participating in our events. Currently we have still have room for drivers to sign up and field the grid for our current GT4 season. Thus, consider yourself on the active driver list as of now. It is good to hear you are familiar with the SNAIL OLR cause that is the basis for this community. Please make sure to check our rules and regulations on page 1 of this thread. If you have any questions feel free to reach out to myself, @Alex ONeill, @swjaxon, or @Falango. Again, welcome to PITS and we will see you on the grid this Sunday at Sonoma National!

Best Regards,

Yeah I saw this. Can't believe they still try to run races here, especially GT-3 cars.

That wasn't the only craziness to happen at Macau, check this out!

Yup, that's typical for Macau. They've been writing off cars there for years!

Jeez, half that track is back alley wide.

I've always wondered what the appeal is, because it's impossible to even attempt a pass on half the track. The drivers love it though. I think the closer the walls are, the more they love it (except the castle section in Baku, **** that.......).
