Hey guys, my Mom is suffering from dementia and she has been on medication to control it for a while. Unfortunately, she cannot live with the side effects of the drugs and decided a week ago to stop the meds, she never told me of her decision. Long story short, she is a mental mess. While racing last night she showed up in my Man cave,(she lives in the same condo building as me), scared the bejezus out of me because she has never done that, she thought I was my Dad. Needless to say it was a stressful night for me getting her calmed down.

It really sucks that a couple of core members of the league did not qualify, I just snuck in by the skin of my scrotum. I know Aero practiced a ton and was super disappointed at not making the show.

No offence to the league, it's the best out there, but by being the best league we are attracting the fastest drivers on PCars which is going to put us marginal (read old) guys on the bubble or not making the race every week. The time for two divisions is fast approaching. Obviously the middle of a season is not the time to implement a change like that, but soon I hope.

This Corvette and I do not get along, the bitch gives me a few good laps and then bites me when I start getting complacent with it. She is fickle and unforgiving and demands constant attention, just like a certain woman from my past.. she like the car is too much for me to handle.

If having as many or a couple more as last night in KOQ then we will be looking at 2 rooms. However this can't happen mid season. There is a chance that it will start next season if this keeps up though.

Sorry to hear about your mother Mike.

IMO the issue with having 2 division rooms right now, is lack of enough drivers. I know it suck not being to have Everyone race on Wednesday nights.
But last week we didn't need to have KOQ, because not enough showed up/had other obligations. This week we needed it, and let's say we have 2 rooms, what happens when it's only 3-4 guys in the second room, that's no fun for anyone. I was part of a Div1 room that only 3 us were in, while the Div2 room has 10 guys. We couldn't combine rooms, and it kinda sacked.
When we get more people, I'd love to have 2 rooms, but currently I don't think it'll be the best choice.

***Edit*** Zii summed it up.

Yea, I would like to think there will be enough for two rooms next season but I doubt that will be the case.

I was extremely bummed not to get through KOQ last night, I tried hard right up until I ran out of time at the end. The Vette is one of my favorite cars in real life and I like driving it in the game, but I just can't for the life of me do competitive times, and believe me I have practiced so many different settings. I am just not having any fun, as was the case with the McLaren a lot of the time last season. I seem to be going backwards in my driving abilities.

The biggest issue for me however, is spending all this time practicing a combo and then not being able to race after all that effort. KOQ may not be an issue every week, but the chances of some not being able to race each week grows more likely all the time. Like Mike says, we are attracting more really fast guys all the time, because it is a great series, but that is to the detriment to guys like myself. I guess as we approach our late 50's early 60's, the reflexes and other abilities start to suffer, well, maybe not SGETI! My leisure time means a great deal to me, and spending all those hours practicing just to sit back and watch you guys race on youtube, well, you can imagine how that feels. Also, racing motorcycles for the better part of 40 years, I am a fairly competitive person, and racing towards the back with never a chance of getting a podium just doesn't promote much desire.

I say all the above because I rarely give up on something, but there comes a point and I've reached it. I wanted to explain why as I have some good friends here whom I have raced against for some time now. I am going to sit out the rest of this season and see what next season brings. In the meantime, I'll just blast around in PCars, AC and Dirt having fun in my own way.
Z and Alex, I will still keep up the scoring and confirmation list each week, for the rest of this season at the least.
Keep having fun guy's and I'll see some of you on the play nights!
Over and out,
Aero

Which line is the actual start/finish line? The one down by the starting light?

Edit...I got it...the line by the booth and light.

I know nothing can be done mid season. My idea is to recruit new members to grow the league to where multiple divisions IS needed. I think most of us have a friend or two they can talk into joining. Even 5 or 6 new guys would make an expansion worthwhile. No DesertChickens tho. Lol.

I know I will never be able to compete with the fast reflexed young wippersnappers that dominate now, except for Sgeti, he's fast for an old guy. How's about an over 50 division? Aero and I briefly discussed this idea.... we could be like the Seniors division of the Pits series. I would rather race with 6 or 7 guys my own caliber than just be a back marker in the top division of 15. I feel like the Morgan Sheppard of Pits.....just turning laps.

Guys, I am not complaining or trying to influence anyone. Z and Alex have done a great job to make this the top league in PCars. I'm just throwing ideas out to there to keep the league interesting for one and all. Right now, it's not fun for me, I am trying to race way beyond my talent level and it shows in all of the mistakes I make. I'm trying to GET GOOD BRO, but age, lack of practice, a car that is too much for me to handle and some very effective meds for chronic hand and wrist pain and Bob's your uncle. Basically, I suck, but, I can live with that if I can race with other guys who suck right along with me. Lol.

So can someone provide me the starting positions for Race 1? I guess that would be the qualifying order?

I couldn't get the order from qualifying because a couple people were disconnected at the beginning. So maybe a row by row of who should have crossed the line at the start?

I was 6th third row inside

I honestly like the way this league is run but the reason I have not shown up to any races is because the damage turns me away. I get it you want this to be as real as possible but I have always played PCars without damage on and I don't want to mess anybody else up if my car gets damaged as I am not sure what kind of damage is possible. Do the cars pull left/right if I hit something? I know the Engine will blow up as I have done this racing LMP1 in Career and not noticing that mechanical failures was on lol.

Another thing is I don't know how I feel about racing so late into the night during the weekdays.

I might show up one of these nights.

I hit the wall last night with the front right corner of the car in the first race, the car pulled to the right, and the FR brake would lockup under anything more then 45% pressure. It was a challenge to drive the remaining 10 laps until I could pit, and I lost a bit of time, but it was also rewarding in my book doing so.

As far as the engine blowing, I have yet to do so, keep the radiator open @40 or so and don't downshift from 5th to 3rd and it'll last all race.

Just to put this out there, I've been avoiding racing for the same reasons Aero specified. As an active parent, there's no way I can put the practice hours in to be competitive in this league. I'm lucky to get two nights a week to play. That comes down to one night of practice, and race night. That's not going to cut it with this talented group.

If there were two rooms I'd definitely participate. But I decided long ago I'm not going to dedicate my free time to practicing for a possible chance to compete. I don't care where I finish - never have - I just want to know I'm going to get a grid spot to race some super clean racers.

Don't consider this a criticism of the league. The rules are great, it's flourishing, it should continue as is. I just wanted to share my thoughts and interest. In fact, I was going to ask if I could host a concession race for those that don't qualify. Same combo, same rules, maybe just one, 1 hour race though.

More importantly, sorry to hear about your mother Mike. Hope things improve.

But then your wheel might come off leaving you somewhere on the track in the way (happened to me when a certain someone put me in the wall in the Focus), or you hit an invisible obstacle (a bug that exists in PCARS) on the track and your car is destroyed etc etc.

So there are many uncontrollable ways your car can be wasted.

But since this is the only game in town with some sort of penalty system for bad driving...you have to weigh the good with the bad.

Dude I would sooo host the consolation room. Get off at a reasonable time and run with my fellow old guys :)

Except you're plenty fast enough to hang in the top 5 or so.
That is true when I put in the practice time...which I have fortunately had time to do lately. But I also love stress free racing and my business is getting ready to hit the busy season so my practice time is going to go way down starting this coming week.

I think Zii was the car behind when I disconnected but him or anyone else , sorry if it affected anyone. I was doing pretty well for a change everything looked good , I saw a spin and a wreck in front of me and I checked up slightly to be safe. One car, sideways in the track, ghosted and I drove by but immediately after, I disconnected. None of this actually happened after I watched the replay , which is craziness , I know I saw what I saw LOL. Glitch in the matrix I guess .

About the KO and two rooms. If you go multiple rooms to include everyone does that not eliminate KO, which I think is a great aspect of how this league and GGGs was set up? Guess I'm just asking , If it goes to multiple rooms how would this work? KO still happens to decide the main event and then the rest form the second room??. I tend to agree with mopar, we probably don't have enough racers get for that yet.

Mike sorry to hear about your mom. Hope she is doing better today.

That first race, from taking the pole, to having the lead for a while, then being able to put down many 1:24.5xx – 1:25.2xx laps made start to like this car. Driving that car in that race felt great. At the end of the race I just asked myself, why does this car not always feel this good? I remember thinking how odd , all of a sudden I can drive and handle this car. Boy, was I looking forward to race number 2.

2nd race. Back to reality. What a difference. I did not make any changes. My best lap was 1:25.6xx. The majority of the rest of the laps were high 1:26 – 1:28.. Why the big difference? All thru out the race I was wondering what is the issue. The car slid, locked brakes, under steered on some corner exits, while other corners the entry over steer nearly killed me. Even after the pit stop, way off pace. Yes I did have softs. I actually checked my HUD twice to make sure.

Has anyone else ever experienced such a change in the handling and feel of their car from one race to next? A Bug?

In life you have “those moments” that make absolutely no sense and leaves you with the questionable thought in your head and that stupid look across your face, The “hmmmm” scenario.

Last night was one of those moments.

Race 2 was the exact same for me hence my retirement from race 2. But yes I experienced exactly what you outlined above

Here comes the problems of a growing league. Snail had the same issue...you basically have to eliminate KOQ and just have different divisions. Everyone races with a group of similar talent...

The more I type the more I realize PCars probably might be getting closer to being ready for a Snail-like league. No tuning, slightly shorter races, multiple divisions.

This series isn't really designed for super tight racing (although it does sometimes occur). With 45 minute races, different pit strategies, full damage, tuning, tire wear etc...oftentimes we end up driving around by ourselves or getting lapped.

The problem is organizing it...what a task that is ;)

Last night was one of those moments.

This has happened to me several times before.

My Race 1 last night was "the awful race". You saw me on mediums in our practice turning low 25s high 24s. In Race 1 I could barely get a 27. Car felt like it was on ice. Crashed several times. Tires wore like crap. Race 2 I ran softs both stints and they wore better than the mediums in the first race (still crashed a few times though...my fault). No idea what is going on with this game.

Guy's,
Need some help filling in blanks for me for scoring. Tks.

Race 1
Mike and Von Slam went out. Who went first?
Adrenalin showing in last place but he has more laps than Jax?

Race 2

I know Mike did not start.
Looks like Tom and User are missing, what order did they leave?
Not sure why I'm seeing Fallen's name there?

Think Tom missed the second race , I disco'd

I watched all of race two last night. I saw weird stuff like described. Cars hitting the apex, exiting, then all of a sudden getting squirly... Sometimes causing a spin. And it wasn't snap oversteer, the front would just let go. I attributed it to replay lag type stuff, but it sounds like something was goofy with the physics.

Race 1 User and Mike left early. Adrenalin bailed because he had a tire fall off while on track. I think Jaxon disco'd as well...before Adrenalin.

Race 2 User and Mike didn't come back so Fallen popped in to observe.

Tom should be swapped for User here... In the second race User disco'd . 1st race he completed ;)
