SEASON 6 ROUND 2 RESULTS
S6 RD2 Overall.jpg

Note:
1) Please double check the scoring, especially the order with which any of you DNF'd. If you spot a mistake let me know and I will correct it.
2) The "Adjust" column now only shows points deducted from any IR's. Three drivers this week were deducted 3 points each for violating the "do not pass the row in front of you before the start/finish line on the rolling start". These were all in race 2. If you have a question regarding this, the Stewards can supply you with a picture of the infraction.

How so?

Everybody seems to have the same issue in which they were considerably slower the first stint of race 2 than the entire 1st race. The first race had qualifying on it. The second race could have possibly been a completely green track. Does that not support @Alex ONeill 's theory? Maybe I'm missing something? Care to fill me in?
Sure no problem. My first race was low grip to the tune of 3 secs off the pace. Which goes against the theory of more rubber down equals better grip. My second race was higher grip on a fresh track.

I believe a couple other mentioned this same issue. While some had opposite problems. So hopefully this explains that there is no explanation other than there is no real explanation.

Thank you. Very interesting indeed. Even a random "bad tire" scenario shouldn't happen this often.

How is the team championship fair to jake?.. I didn't get to enter!

How is the team championship fair to jake?.. I didn't get to enter!

Same thing happened with Trucker, but if he didn't make the KOQ cut, he doesn't race. Sucks, but that's the rules.

Trucker, you need to "Get Good Bro". =) let's do some practice
And the same for Mike because I didn't get in either! But he's really pooched for the rest of the season!

There have been talks about what we are going to do moving forward. In these discussions, we have come to the conclusion that we need to have a full KOQ room for a continuation of enough weeks to prove to us that we will have consistent drivers attendance. We don't want to go into a two room setup without having enough drivers to do so. So whether or not you qualify, your attendance in KOQ will show the race directors that we are all serious about growing as a league. This being said, anyone who had been on the sidelines now has access to run in KOQ. As we will lift the 25 active driver limit. Let's fill the KOQ room for a few weeks then go from there. We have divised a way for everyone to race but we need the attendance before we can do it.
Let's make PITS HUGE!!! Bring in more drivers. I know there are a few of the Tuesday guys that have run a race or two with us. Get them in here for consistent KOQ attempts.
We need 15 or more KOQ consistently.

So what happens if the KOQ room gets full, who gets in and who doesn't?
Regardless, this still means that for quite a few weeks to come, there will be a certain number of drivers who have put in the time to practice but won't be able to race for the evening. With all the really fast guys here now, this is a reality for some of us slower guys and another week of no racing will go by.

The guys that don't make the main event can very much run their own race until we go to 2 rooms. I agree the practice time would get old to not race.

@aerolite

Totally understand the concern. The thought is that if people are willling to show up and qualify even though they may not make the race, they'll certainly show up when the change is made. I understand the "wasted practice" concern. I think for those who truly don't think they have a shot at making the show but are seriously interested in helping the series accommodate them, showing up for a 40 minute KOQ session once a week isn't much investment and it proves to the organizers that the group as a whole is trully ready for 2 lobbies.

GGGs league, which i think this has been modeled after had a hard cap on racers at or around 30. a full room and a full knock out. any more would be a feat to organize. when expanding this league, which is more a series is how id explain it, has to decide what it wants. either keep the series true to its format and limit racers or ax the current format for an ever expanding divisional league.

I think I'm out... Prefer historic cars or untuned league anyway.
I'd spend hours trying to tune, when I don't really know what I'm doing..
Its one thing to be able to tune a car to your driving style. But quite another when it means 4-5 seconds a lap because of tuning. The new cars have to much tweeking available.

Being completely honest, this idea that tuning takes "hours" is way overblown. Now, not to take away from your personal preference, which is perfectly reasonable to have, but for the most part all I do is change the basics (springs, bars, camber, caster, gearing) and I can hang with the field. Certainly not the top, but that's because I'm not that good a driver, not because I'm not an engineer. Plus, the laps you runs testing are still practice laps you'd would be running in a spec car anyways. Some people argue it's not good practice to drive for three laps in a car that doesn't handle well. That's rubbish. Don't underestimate your ability to learn.

. When I've run in historic leagues, the lap time differences have been within less than a second.
Throw in the slow/fast/rebound/ spring rate, etc, etc, etc. 4-5 seconds difference from stock. And never underestimate your ability to tune yourself to the back!

This correct. We are looking into whether or not going into two rooms will be what we want to do. We have a format in mind hat would allow everyone to be on the same scoreboard. But nothing is going to happen if too many people leave cause there are too many drivers. That kind of seems backwards to me really.

15 drivers for 5 spots means 10 going home. Nope, not for me as I am most likely one of the ones not to make the show. I just dont see myself practicing for a race I might not be able to run in.

The league has become too competitive for me and the fun factor is failing fast. This is not a shot on the series, it's the best and it's attracting more and more fast drivers because it's the best, so I am going to follow my bum buddy Aero and step down, at least until more rooms are open. Give the spot to someone who likes the super competitive stuff.

Josh, I think mine and Aeros commitment to the league has been there from the start. Z was playing with BB guns and Alex was skinny when we joined. Thing is, we have shown up for every race and now I feel like we are being pushed out by better talent, ( which is understandable, ), and oh well, too bad so sad. Commitment only goes so far and goes both ways. I would much rather race in a Pits division 2 right now, even if it only had 5 or 6 racers who are the same caliber. Why wait? Integrate it sooner rather than later to accomodate us losers.

Great job on the broadcast, by the way, you and Swollen are getting more comfortable and informative. Camera work was superb, there were not that many battles to follow, but you guys filled it well.👍👍. i even enjoyed watching the KOQ, exciting till the end.

This is why I say to run your own race if you don't make the show.

exactly. the league is SNAIL and PITS is another affiliated series of which there are many and could be more. you make the show or you dont but that doesnt mean the ones that dont make it have to just shut down their systems. form a room and have a fun night with good racers.

They probably will run their own race after failing to qualy, but not under the Pits flag??? Like I said, commitment works both ways. We might as well start our own league of losers for Wednesday nights. 💡💡

why would you want to run your own race when youre going to have 5, 10 or even more racers ready to race the practiced combo in a consolation room?

ya, i guess they could. im beginning to think some signed up and never really read the rules or thought about what happens when the slots fill up. there has been a lot of advertisement around to recruit new drivers to this fine series which is awesome but ultimately means some will not get to race.

We have a two room setup that isn't divisional separations. But we need everyone to participate and we can't start until the next season at the soonest.
