Hey guys. I will be on rather early tonight. I can open up a room if you want me to. Where is the race this week again? I can have it up be like 6 or so if there's people on that early that want some early practice. just add me on psn, pillsbury55, so I can see if you're on when the time comes.

We will be at Brno this week. Clear weather. Not sure on time. Check the first page post 3 or 4 for schedule list.

I plan on showing up for open practice tonight. Perhaps @Rednose58 and @GTLehman might be interested too. Do your practice lobbies get close to reaching full capacity? If it gets full tonight I have no problem backing out to let a registered member to the series take my spot if they can't get in.

I also had no idea the Vette was DLC. I just assumed I hadn't "unlocked" it by playing enough of the single player campaign.

I'll tell you red nose and ggtleman that come into KOQ on race night. We are looking to expand to a multi room race but before we change the point structure we need to see that you guys are interested and will be there enough interest (that stays) otherwise we will have to stay as is. It's up to the driver count now. Get them in here and let's make next season have 2 or more rooms.

FYI, I'm in the low 2'03-high 2'02 minute lap range.

I don't have you beat by 4-5 seconds a lap, but after quite a few different setups I have hit the 1:59's maybe a high 58. But the setup is on the scary side. I do what I will always do, I try a few different setups from that pcars setup site. Find one that feels ok, then start screwing around with sway bars and tires etc etc. I work a lot, so I don't have time to sit down and really try and figure out tuning and the wife only allows me so much time too, for real lol.
FYI, I suck at tuning, that's why I use the setup site.

I will show up Wednesday and run a few laps for KOQ to show my commitment to Pits and to add to the numbers game but I have no intention of running the race or busting my ass in KOQ for a spot. Is this a weenie move? When there is a division I can compete and have fun in I will be back on the track. All us guys who didnt make it last week should do the same. I will try and open a room for the guys who don't make the race. Oh yeah, real damage will be OFF, 'cause we suck. We'll call it Lobbans Loser Lounge.

I'm going to guess I'm one of the ones being called out
Talking from experience, I can tell you running a stock setup vs a tuned setup isn't going to net you a 4-5 second difference. Maybe 1-2.5 seconds depending on the track provided fuel & tires are the same. Our fellow racer @ONESPACE posted a link to setups that we ALL can use, I myself used it at Watkins Glen and it was good.
Saying that in a Spec series brings the racing closer, that's true as its soley based on driver skill. But saying that all lap times are within a second, is absolutely false. I ran in the Spec series, as far back as the early GT6 days when JLBowler and DiabolicWyvern were dominating it, and the lap times were spread out just like it is now.

I myself don't really know to much about tuning, just put me behind the wheel, as I can drive. I can drive with or WITHOUT assists, it doesn't matter, I'm still fast.

What you say above makes it sound like we "Elite" need crutches and training wheels to get around the track fast lol. Simply not true, we just race with the rules laid out in front of us.

There are several of us who are willing to open a lobby every night so those who want to practice can do so, Lesson & I did last night. Tomorrow is the "Official Practice night", Alot of us should be on, run with us for a few hours.

One last thing, has anyone reached out to one of the "Elite" drivers and asked for any on track help/tutoring? I would be more then willing to help anyone, and have been doing so for years as a SNAIL member. @AJKVail & @fzappa can give testimony to the caliber of improvement in their racecraft they received.

P.S. if you want to bang doors in a historic, let me know.

Banging doors was frowned upon in gt legends where I used to run door to door with the likes of JB!. And Villenueve !
I ran the pantera against JBs bmw, and villenueves zackspeed Capri.
Never did run much online in gt5 or 6. I found the cars were not very realistic in the handling, too arcade like. You could drive with one hand, sound was bad too.

Come join wogs historic league, or we could start our own on wed. Call it fog racing..(Freakin Old Guys) you don't have to be over 60 to join, but it helps!

I've raced it maybe twice lol. Not many public rooms run it after the 1st week since it came out.

I have a g29, but I believe witchcraft was used to match it to my PlayStation, my son set it all up for me, I don't even know how to access the driving aids to turn them on if I wanted... I will ask him but he is teaching guitar for the next 3 hours. Not sure if that will help in time.

Mike, I don't think it's a weenie move at all. In fact, it is exactly what will help this league move forward. if more people follow your lead, everybody will have a place to race every week regardless of their performance and it'll happen sooner rather than later.

I had the same issue and I think it was because I started PS4 and PCars with the controller before I pushed the PS button on the steering wheel. Now I manually starts PS4, then press the PS button on the G29, Start PCars and then press the PS button on the controller.

The steering wheel works and I can navigate with the controller between PCars menus. Try it and let us know.

I've always had goofy issues when a controller's turned on while my wheel is on (T-300). For me, it's an absolute no-no to touch controllers when racing. They stay in the charging base.

Huh... That is the exact way I start my system, never had a problem with the g29. I never use the controller. I believe you've Found the solution.

When I joined your practice lobby earlier it wouldn't let me choose the C7R, unlike last weeks practice. So I went ahead and bought the $3 DLC. You might want to doublecheck the settings come Wednesday night in case people want to participate that dont have the DLC. I plan on showing up Wednesday to show my support and run a few laps if thats ok. I'm just looking to get my feet wet with PCars, and I figure this is the best route to take since I'm already doing SNAIL Spec on Sundays. But this game is growing on me. Thanks!

Feel free to send me a friend request. I'm on a couple nights a week, am willing to run practice laps, or run some random online races. I've got clean racing friends from all over the world, but it usually means running GT3 class . Still, I'll race anything you want. There's lots of under used cars and tracks in this game. Hit me up!
