Yes, that gave me better control of the car. It's not like a steering wheel, but it does allow me to make finer movements in my steering, which is helpful.

On the current car, try it at the 16.9.1 ratio. I think it's like 5-6 clicks

After you change the ratio be sure to leave the room, then re-enter, so the new numbers will take effect. If you change the ratio and go directly to the track, the new ratio will not take effect.

We did it in practice (offline) and it took effect when we went on track. I assume your talking about online then (leaving the room).

*Edit -BTW, how many confirmed this week @Alex ONeill

Another thing that tends to work for me on controller is going through the corner a gear higher than you probably need. Yes it's slower, but it lets you gauge what sort of speeds work for the corner without being as prone to doing some pirouette practice.

In other news, is anyone still looking for a teammate?

And lastly, how accurate would you guys say the tire indicator in HUD is for this car? In my limited practice I've experienced pretty much no lap time difference (actually going faster with halfway ruined tires) until the last ten or so percent on the indicator, at which point the car starts to think of the corners as suggestions more or less. It's probably just my terrible driving but I thought I'd ask anyway.

To add to the discussion concerning control on a DS4:

One thing that most likely doesn't get any attention is your FOV settings. FOV changes don't JUST alter how much you see on screen, but with those changes it alters the way the game renders the image. As I've recently learned messing around with my triple setup, an FOV change can have a dramatic effect on drivability due to how different FOVs alter the sense of depth/speed/elevation/space. You can combine the use of your seating position to help get the onscreen image suited to your liking. To get a better idea of what I mean test drive with your seat all the way foreward and set the FOV such that the steering wheel is "x" wife. (Measure it with a tape/ruler for reference). Do some laps. Now put the seat all the way back and adjust the FOV such that the steering wheel is the same width as you measured before. Do some laps. You should notice a pretty big difference in the overall feel of the drive.

As a word of caution on changing FOV settings: Once you get comfortable when your settings, drive on track in your preferred driving view, and stop when the white line at the edge of the track is at the edge of your screen. Then change views to behind the car, and see where the car is, compared to the white line.
I only say this because a few seasons ago we had a guy cutting 70% of the turns during the race, and it was deemed his FOV might of been the issue as he was 4 tires over the white line ALL. THE. TIME.
If memory serves me right, he was some type of THE GT Academy Finalist......

So I will plan to be around more this season. Sorry for my slow pace, but I had no practice with the car and track. If I was in anyone's way, forgive me, but I tried my best to make room when I could tell I was ready to be passed. See you next time.

Whoever is updating the details on post 1, put me in car 11. Later!

Unfortunately #11 has already been taken by Hazard, can you choose another?

@ONESPACE, sorry about the contact at the end of lap 2. My car got loose, I countersteered but the DS4 controller not my forte and it's very touchy. When the car caught traction it just shot across the track and collected you. I apologize.

No worries, it was kind a cool, how I made it through without any damage. If I had gotten damage, no big deal. It was one of those racing incidents, nothing you did on purpose. Thanks for the apology though, and see ya on the track.
