My couch is pretty far from the tv so wireless is key so that my 3 y/o and dogs don't pull the PS4 off the stand. I'll check out the ps golds. Those seem to fit what I am looking for.

Ohhh excited!! Now if PCars2 has VR I'm set. Here is some VR action In Dirt Rally. Literally picked up VR two days ago. This thing is wicked lol.
What is the FOV like with that on?
My Livery for next season:
Image isn't loading.
You can adjust the field of view in certain games, but at first it is a little disorienting. It has a very small fish eye effect. They only way I know this is that all corners of my vision, the words are kind of blurry until you look at it. It's really weird. I do not get tunnel vision or motion sickness which used to happen to me as a kid. I'm really impressed. TBH the FOV is different in a way that it puts you into the field of view if that makes sense. So really where ever you move the view changes. Graphics wise FOV isn't bad, long distances are fairly blurry... I mean it's no 1080p lol.
I hope that answers your question. Lol
That helps a bit. I guess my curiosity is how much of one's visible range the actual image covers. I wonder if that is disclosed anywhere.. I'll have to look. For instance, my triples provide about 170* of visual range when looking directly forward.
*edit*
I found it rather quickly. The technical FOV is 100*, which is far narrower than monitors can be.
I look forward to the progression of VR. It's going to get even more amazing I'm sure.
Just a thought and I'm not sure there are enough people for this to even be a consideration. I'm not looking to 'rock the boat' or change how things are done, I'm offering an idea that might bring more players to this series.
We all know that using a controller versus a wheel in a racing game is a completely different experience and it's kinda like comparing apples and oranges. I know Lessen uses a controller, but he likes to broadcast the races. I could be wrong, but I think SAMHAIM85 is on a controller and I'll be using a controller until such time I can use a wheel. This got to wonder, how many people are using a controller? If there were or if there are enough people, maybe dividing the drivers into classes (controller & wheel).
I would expect to see a driver using a wheel to be faster than if that same driver were to use a controller. I know the Racing Teams didn't really work because a lack of teammates willing to drive. This might help to bring more drivers to this series.
Thoughts?
It's an interesting proposition. I just have doubts about the demand for it.
Driving on a pad is a very different art and I personally love seeing people work at it and get better. It's certainly something I have no desire to give up completely, even when I do get a rig put together. I'm definitely not the fastest controller guy, but I'm good enough to feel good about where I stand in a room full of competitors.
sidenote: My PSN+ subscription has expired and I will not be renewing. Therefor, my involvement in the series and SNAIL in general will be limited to these forums. No more DS4 racing for me, sorry.
I agree. It'd have to be two wet races so people don't just drop the only wet oneY'all are going to hate me for this, but screw it...
Hey @Zii1993 can we have a wet weather race this season?
I have been running a wheel for years now, and I will honestly say that a wheel doesn't necessarily equate to faster lap times, but it does create more consistent lap times. Same goes for FFB vs. no FFB.
