SEASON 5 ROUND 4 AND OVERALL RESULTS

There has been an additional column added to the score sheet called "Adjust", and a change made to tie's. An adjustment of 0.1 points is given to the tie breaker winner, as any of you familiar with SNAIL Sunday night league will recognize. This is shown in the adjust column. Any IR deduction points will also be shown here.
As per usual, any ties are broken by best race result, if still tied, then broken by best qualifying time.
If anyone see's a mistake, please let me know.
I will add the full spreadsheet file tomorrow.

It was a tough racing night for sure last night. Pretty treacherous conditions - tires going cold and cars become extra slidy, everything grey and corners blending with the rest of the environment, spins, crashes etc. Having said that, I've finally figured out strategy (pit stops), setup and mastery of track to compete best this season. I haven't had all these things figured out this season yet (til yesterday).
A great setup can go a long way. Last week at Imola I had a decently fast setup but it was too stiff, where a tiny mistake would send the car into unrecoverable spin, hence I spun 5 times in race 1 and 3 times in race 2 with no way of saving the car during the spin. Yesterday's rain setup was waaaay better, where the car allowed for spin and countersteer to save it. Again, thanks to SGETI who's setup I stole from the setup database :P
Had few good fights too last night, most notably with @Mike Lobban in race 2 who lead the way midway through the race before the pitstop and then immediately after the pitstop which made me step up my game to drive better, there was no way around you there :) Unfortunate that you had a spin in the later stages though, Mike.
I enjoyed the treacherous conditions...placed 6 th... Best I've done in that twitchy car...

Quiet here!

Next week heading north to Maniwaki Quebec for the start of the 2017 Canadian Rally Championship, (and the American Rally Assoc. Champ). Some very talented Cdn and US drivers in the biggest field ever, 43 teams. Travis Pastrana and David Higgins will be there as well!

Maybe I'm blind (we know I'm stupid already), but I couldn't find which car to use.
I'm going to do my best to join this Wednesday, because I can't miss a race at Le Sarthe, but I need some marching orders to practice...

And can't we add about 23:15 to the race and make teams with 3-4 people? Just a thought...

Nope. Close sometimes though
Cool. I'll practice a bit today and try my best to make the hours work on Wednesday.

What was, the number of the post we needed? 40?

I'm going to post a racing story later then.

Busy weekend. Think I'm gonna be sore for a few days after a bit of bowling with my boy. Finishing up some small projects in the kids rooms. Soon to start the wife's new humongous island.

Wasting posts disguised as sharing life.

Yeah, busy indeed. Rolex 24 was great, and I saw a Beetle I might buy. '84, almost spotless, already with some mods, but room for much more.
I might finally take the plunge....

I saw all of about 20 minutes of that race. Very disappointed, but... I got stuff to do.

It was good. I didn't watch even close to the 24, there were way too many cautions, but racing is back on, so it's all good.
And the ending was fabulous. Also, the new breed of GT cars look fantastic, IMSA is looking like it's about to have a banner year.
I'm excited for it.

I wonder if sports car racing is about to make a major comeback the states. NASCAR has slowly but surely turned into one big gimmick circus. I can't even watch it anymore.

IMSA is definitely trying to "steal" NASCAR's market by promoting NASCAR drivers. Besides making a huge deal about Gordon, there were a few phone interviews with NASCAR drivers. I'd love to see more support, the racing is just so much more interesting than the circle track restart crap. I really enjoyed the performance of the new Porsche GTLM cars. They had some amazing pace and control. It's only taken what, 40 years? Gotta give them credit for never giving up on the 911 base.

I was surprised when the 911 was chasing the Ford at how freaking TINY the GT looks when compared to it.
It was like they were different classes.

And I agree with Lessen, sports cars are about to become big again. This season is shaping up to be incredible and NASCAR is shaping up to be even more screwed up and convoluted.

I say that's a sign of progress.
