ferrari_chrisWell, now that you bring it up...
👍amp88This nooby guy did
ferrari_chrisAnd it's happened!
a few minutes earlier and the honour would have gone to Casio.
Hmmmm. Obviously, blue_sharky39's post is in the convo forum, and as covered in this thread, posts in the convo forum do not count towards the total.cardude2004Actually, if you look at that URL, it is NOT the true 2 millionth post. The URL is https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showpost.php?p=2113727
That is really post #2113727
The true post 2 million is https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showpost.php?p=2000000 by blue_sharky, who should be getting the attention. I didn't search for that post, just changed the post number behind the query to 2000000.
We must have had a lot of posts get deleted over time.
Test forum...ferrari_chrisHmmmm. Obviously, blue_sharky39's post is in the convo forum, and as covered in this thread, posts in the convo forum do not count towards the total.
Every post has an ID number, and this one is number 2,000,000.
I think the large gap between ID numbers and total posts is more down to posts in the convo forum rather than posts being deleted.
I don't persoanlly see a lot of action in the convo forum, so this question is aimed at a convo forum regular. Does the ~113,000 gap sound about right for the number of posts there since it has been up and running? Or have there been way more than ~113,000 posts and my theory is way off the mark?
I just think that 113,000 sounds like a heap of deleted posts. It's around 5% of the total posts - that's one in every twenty posts has been deleted.

donbenniAbout a month solid, perhaps more considering the length of some posts.
CasioTo all be read in a 30 day month. You'd have to read 46.29~ posts a minute, non-stop, for 30 days straight.
Let's say you took 30 seconds per post on average. That's 1,000,000 minutes or 694 days!!! So even if you only took 15 seconds it would still almost take a year to complete, not to mention while you're reading people are still posting. Also you have to stay up for a whole year.

What did it used to say before you changed it?blue_sharky39Well, the November convo thread had 10k replies, so I think there might be nearly 100k posts from the convo forum.
Oh yeah, to make myself feel a bit better for not having "official" post 2 million, check my sig.
