If you haven't got kids I won't definitely won't ask  (yes, in fact I think it's made by the same people). It's my 2 1/2 year old sons bedtime TV programme so he'll probably go ape when we get there and it's in the park 5 mins from my house so couldn't not go. I'm still looking forward to it though so I guess you should probably take me a bit less seriously ;)

No I haven't got kids but I strangely enough understand that it could be fun to see that show if you have, as for not taking you serious any more because of that, don't worry, I didn't before so it won't make any difference...:D

As for the topic discussed here, if anyone does go and happens to come across a Standard car ( somehow unlikely is my guess ) please make sure to try every single viewpoint available and please report back if it has.........yep you guessed it.;)

TD actually if you have no interest in this thats fine your entitled to your opinion but stop being a whingebag. Its obvious some are quite excited about attending this and its a big enough story to make the front page. Not only that but its got other exciting games for PS3 on show along with Move and the chance somebody on these forums could even be lucky enough to win a Bravia 3DTV.

As for following you, please maybe you forgot what you did yesterday and i ignored.
But of course what you say matters most.

Bit of a moot question that, totally irrelevant. I have no intention of travelling anywhere just to play a game in beta form. Any experience of it will therefore be in video format, where I have seen plenty already. Playing the game there is not going to make it come out any faster.

Not totally irrelevant, we've all seen countless videos of various demos but this is a chance to actually play GT5 and experience first hand the new physics and graphics etc rather than what we have previously had in GT5P and the time trial demo.

I also won't be travelling to this event although I would love to if I could not only to play GT5 (even if it is "just" a demo) but to try the other games and Move, I love games and this looks like it will be a great event to try out new games with other hardcore gamers.

Also no one has said playing the game there will bring GT5 out faster but it definitely means you get to play it sooner ;)

:(

I live in london, but have free travel on the trains, so would love to get an invite and would surley take some footage even if it is of stuff we've already seen, would be nice to actually sit down and go round the top gear track.

I might be able to go, my nan lives not far from New Street station and im due to visit her in august, hopefully i'll be able to get up there and have a go! :D

I love that, "oh hi nan, nice to see you again thanks for letting me stay but Ive got to rush and to go see some games" :sly:

It will be a demo.

I hope you are wrong. Has i know "beta" is different from "demo", i suppose that "beta" is the semi-full game with some options disabled, that has to be something more "large" than the demos or betas what we seen before.💡

when will we see what action took place in new york. i'm new york right now.
is it too late? :dunce:
Can i still go?
where is it? :scared:

Actually, a beta is just a build of the game, usually a rather early build, that's used to iron out most of the problems with the game, like bugs or imbalances and the like. It doesn't necessarily include more overall content then a demo, though it usually does.

A demo, on the other hand, is used to present the game to an audience, not for quality assurance.

But since PD said they would be working on the game to the very last moment (or didn't they? I'm not all that sure about it :P ), I highly doubt it will be the full game.
I'd guess that they'll be using the same build they used during E³, maybe with some (very) minor changes.

The event is called Beta, that doesn't mean the game is strictly Beta. Most likely the E3 demo. I can't see it being anything new.

But at lest we will get some decent feedback from some GTP member hopefully  that's what I'm hoping for.

I wonder the same! they had the full game? or they already working in it?

I count for back, november 1, so IMHO, they need 1 month to make the copys, packaging and 1 month to distribute, then i suppose the game has to be ready at august?

I would imagine the last few months of development consists of bug testing and general polishing up. I would imagine the online side of the game is extensively tested.

So even just testing for bugs can be classed as working on the game. Im surprised you didn't know this!

I dont see this as a "Beta" gathering to help development of the games shown.
Yes it may showcase games in "Beta Development" and thay can take feedback from people attending but this is clearly a limited audience "Promotional Event" of upcoming "Sony Studio's" games & hardware.

This, for example, depends on what you consider to be the full game. Whether it's the version that's actually going to be on sale later, including its level of refinement or just a build of the game that has all the features available.

Showing the full game would mean showing what we're going to get upon buying it, at least from what I've seen in that regard from other developers so far, most of the time.
