My friends who are coming have no idea how to play GT properly , im sure there will be plenty of bumps and rolls lol

Freinds? i thought you could bring along 1 person only?

owen.c93
Out of interest are there any other games there that you guys are looking forward to playing?

LBP2 will be high on my list, i would also be dishonest if i said i wasnt slightly intrested in seeing how move works and kilzone in 3d..

-> To all GTP members who want to gather up or to identify each other, I have a suggestion. Don't worry, I'm in US so that means I wont be able to go there. :(

-> Do the Haruhi Suzumiya-style arm band:

^ Just take a simple coloured ribbon (I suggest red), and then use a handy safety pin...then voila! :sly:

~> I'd do it. :(

If anyone wants a specific question answered and assuming there'll be GT5 representatives there, please write what you want in this thread and if I/we get chance, we'll ask them for you.
I don't expect new answers to our questions. However I would ask to look closely at the performance of the game:
How stable is the framerate, how much tearing is there?

If a 3D setup is present: Is there anti-aliasing? Does it run at sub-720p ?

Yeah Id second that idea of comparing the 3D version to the 2D.
Jaggies in the past were reported to be more visible during at the CES showing in Jan by Kotaku.
Im curious to know more.

Heres a new video from "comic Con" showing the 3D on "that track" again.
(Availible in HD also)

GT5 doesnt seem to have that strong of a 3D effect and reports are indeed very mixed about it.
So MadMurdock and you guys lucky to attend will be amongst the first gamers in the UK to get to try it.

Hopefully, we'll get a new build :D

EDIT: I like the little moving box they have at the top with all the cars and drivers while it loads the track, really nice :)

ill be using my trusty samsung I8910 get 1280x720 video and it also does 3264x2448 8mpixies pictures..

my main question will be if we have gotten interiors and cockpits mixed up.. as in all cars will have a cockpit view but only the premium will have interior (engine bits ect) modeling

that and if the pulsar VZ-R will be in the game!!

Yay, we have the same phone!

I wish PD did something like this in Finland too, we never get any cool events. :(
I guess we're not a big enough market.

I have 4 places ;)

And i'm looking forward to KZ3 , Move , LBP2 , Socom 4 (hopefully , anyone confirm??) and

GT5 Duhh!!!!

If anyone gets a chance to play, the one thing I want is:

An EXTREME (yes I mean EXTREME) crash&rollover/crash&burn/etc.

I doubt the beta will be that late a build. It's unlikely that us general public will get to see any deformation and roll overs this early on.

How I would love to attend this event but unfortunately I can't. Do you think there will be anyone around to ask questions about GT5 because I have one.

I need someone to clarify whether I will be able to use my brand new G25 on GT5? Reason being is I have the money ready to buy a racing cockpit but unless I get confirmation I will have to wait until GT5 is released before buying it. Main reason for my concern is upon reading the G27 paddle shifters don't work on GT5P.

I don't want to spend £300 on a cockpit and find I can't use my G25. I wouldn't want to buy the DFP and I cannot afford a G27. Basically I would be knackered!

GT has always supported many older wheels. G25 support in GT5 is 99,99% sure.
The G27 doesn't work 100% in GT5P because it's newer then GT5P and the wheel isn't fully backwards compatible.

My friends keep telling me im worrying over nothing. Ideally I would prefer my cockpit now because i've never used a wheel before and was going to start practicing on GT5P around 1month before GT5 is released. I've had my G25 for over a year now and it still remains brand new in the box. Got this from play.com for a bargain price of £99.

I suppose ideally I just want 100% confirmation from someone official.

Ah hahaha, this early on?!!! The game has been in development for many years now, and launches in about three months. You think this is early on?

The G25 will work just fine with GT5, just like it worked fine with the TT demo. It's the G27 that had issues with Prologue, but even that worked fine with the TT demo.

You will not get any official word on compatibility because the wheel is not officially supported. So, if you want 100% confirmation, you are going to have to wait for the game to release and for somebody to tell you it works. Sounds to me like you are getting impatient...

Yes GT5 should be finished by now. The remaining 3 months will probably consist of testing, final touches. If Sony bring the latest build of GT5 then what you see should be representative of the final product.

Am I right in assuming that it takes around 1month to mass produce, package, distribute? So that means only 2 months of testing, final touches.

For a global release, 1 month sounds about right, but the rate at which they can physically produce these is quite phenomenal.

So your still going on about this?
Although its off topic, whoah amazing that TD hasnt been criticising you for discussing such things but actually trying to help.

Lets be serious for a moment here...
Do you think PD are going to remove or hinder the hundreds of thousands, of G25 owners that will be playing this game and make the GT5 full game without the support of both G25 and G27 particulary as these wheels are created by the manufacturer of the official wheel of the game?

If so, we may as well assume then that Logitech's own budget wheels would not be supported anymore either and only the official DFGT wheel would. Taking that on board they then would be leaving out millions of users/owners of those products with no wheel support in GT5.

When you start thinking on non support then other brands of wheels including Fanatec should be considered as not being supported and you may as well then assume that GT5 would also lose clutch support which they went to the bother of including specifically for G25 at the time.

Really why your worrying over this when it makes no sense at all to believe support would be dropped in GT5. Please stop fretting over it and although a statement is unlikely specifically promoting any other individual wheel or that brand of wheel. That alone could have legal implications against other brands and wheels. It is wise to assume based on the evidence we have already that GT5 will support the most popular wheels on the market, particulary your wheel, the G25 which has to be the best selling wheel of all time.

Simple reason is because a £300 cockpit is alot of money to me. I would rather wait until the day of GT5 being released and then order my cockpit.

Wait for what, you already have made the (assumed gamble) purchase in the G25 wheel havnt you.
So the cockpit isnt a gamble purchase as Im sure it will fit a DFGT wheel as well.

If your wanting/buying a cockpit to enjoy the game with a wheel, something I agree is a good thing you could sell the G25 and get a DFGT, if the unlikelyness your fears are what happens.
So you could still play the game on the "Official" wheel with your new cockpit.

I fail to see how just about every other racing game for the PS3 supports the G25 yet you still even yet doubt GT5 will.
Im sure people here would be willing to swap your G25 for a DFGT and take the so called risk your imagining.

If you read my previous post I have already stated that I wouldn't buy the DFGT. I personally haven't used this wheel but according to my friend who has, he said it doesn't have paddle shifters like the G25 as their much smaller and difficult to reach.

Well Ivor, if you want to discuss it further do send me a PM, this way it keeps the thread on topic.

However the simple matter is that their is no evidence to support your concern regards G25 but plenty of evidence from GTHD / GT5P / GT5 TT and common support with many other games or developers releasing PS3 racing games whch are compatible with the the wheel.

If I were you, Id start getting used to the G25 with GT5P by even clamping it to a table as this can take time getting upto speed with a wheel. At least that way youd be ready and comfortable with it for when GT5 does release.

back to the point of this thread :/. . Is anyone actually going to this event? Pity its in birmingham though. London would've been better :)

Birmingham is pretty central for most of the UK, probably why they chose to hold it there. They mentioned holding more events, hopefully there'll be a few before GT5's launch, I can see London, Bristol etc being the ideal places to hold the next ones :D:tup:

Check the first thread, there's 13 GTP members who've said they're going so they'll feed back here what it was like and any new info.
