Hi, I just got a G29 recently and been playing Assetto Corsa, Project Cars and Dirt Rally and loving every minute of it. Anyway, I noticed both Seb Loeb Rally and WRC 5 for sale on the PS Store earlier today for a pretty decent price. I could get the pair of them for under 25 quid.

Question is, after playing the aforementioned games, how do these two Rally games compare? Worth spending 25 quid on, or are they rubbish?

While North Americans missed out on a lot of great deals the European store had all this month, there's a pretty awesome Flash Sale going on for the weekend, with a lot of slightly older titles for $5 or less:

Not much in terms of racing, but other genres have some gems. My purchase:

Injustice: Gods Among Us Ultimate Edition (PS4): $4.99
I Am Bread (PS4): $3.89
Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition (PS4): $5.24
Journey (PS4): $4.94
Sleeping Dogs: Definitive Edition (PS4): $5.99
Bastion (PS4): $4.79
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater HD (PS3): $4.94
Street Fighter X Tekken (PS3): $2.99
Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix (PS3): $1.99

Total: $39.76 (without discounts: $182.91  )

Both are from very small development teams - Milestone (Seb Loeb) have been doing rally for five or so years and it's a pretty good game, varied and challenging, though not a visceral as DiRT Rally.

WRC5 is the first rally game from Kylotonn Games and whilst respectable, I would go for WRC6 which is apparently a big improvement.

Too much stuff in the PSN I like the look of for the good of my credit card at the moment.

Resident Evil Biohazard, Yakuza 0, Digimon World: Next Order, Street Fighter V and Sebastien Loeb Rally EVO. There are others but I'm trying to be very selective.

Running 4.50 right now.

Found a way to have your own photos for custom wallpapers.

First off upload them to something so you can view them in like a web browser. (For me Google Photos)
Log onto your account via web on PS4.
Do full screen and click on the photo you want.
Click share. (Save screenshot)
...
Profit.
Your own photo.

Have you tried the Boost FPS mode I have mentioned in the post above?

edit: Actually i don't think it's present in the original PS4

It's not.

I just looked on mine and I don't have the option too.

People on Gaf reporting the boost mode doing wonders, Sony should have done this from the start, now a PS4 Pro purchase makes sense.

Edit @TJ13 you can just copy to a USB and screenshot the image from the image viewer.

Edit 2: this won't work :D never mind

Besides what they listed on the blog, what else is in the update?

Well not much.

External HDD support.
3D Blu-ray VR support.
Boost FPS (Pro only)
Custom wallpapers. (In game screen shots or web browser photo screen shots) as I listed above.

@sems4arsenal I tried the USB thing first and it didn't work.
Instead since I have google photos I could just log on and see if it would work that way and it did.

Guys, is there any sense buying the PS4 Pro without a 4K TV?

Well, there was just news about a Boost FPS mode that tries to better use the Pro's hardware to stabilize or increase FPS in older PS4 games that have no Pro patch. While it may not always work (you can Google the results of the mode), it sounds pretty promising.

Plus some devs may include a 60fps mode with their games so if you don't care about faux-4K, then you can choose 60fps. Nioh and FFXV both have a 60fps patch, the latter coming in late Feb. AFAIK every TV out there is 60Hz. But the devs may not want 60fps for reasons only they can explain. In that case a 4K TV may be needed.

I bought a PS4 Pro just before Xmas, even though it runs on just a 1080 TV for now. The way i see it, i'm much more likely to buy a 4K/HDR before i am another console, so i might as well buy the best there is. I've never had a Playstation fail on me in the past, so i can't see me having to buy a new one before it's superseded by a next-gen PS5.

I'd rather have a console that under performs due to the limitations of the screen, in the short term, then be lumped with a screen that under performs due to the limitations of the console. And that's purely based on a games visual aesthetics, not even taking into account the other benfits the Pro brings, as 35mm's post below shows.

We already knew it, but here's the proof (with numbers and all) that Boost Mode does make wonders:

More on subject, resolution isn't everything and this alone probably makes it worth getting the Pro for most people.

£350 for that kind of fps boost. If it's confirmed that this boost makes it into the release version of this firmware that may be enough to convince me.

Question. Why is the spell checker telling me "the" is wrongly spelled?

Thanks @doblocruiser I hadn't heard of this one yet. I like the following:

The island of GreedFall is a living, ever-evolving world. Your actions, from seemingly trivial choices to the most important political decisions, will influence and affect its course as well as the relationship between the different factions established on the island.
