Guy crashes in to a Police car whilst driving and playing Pokémon Go...

Why would I want to go outside and catch virtual stickers of Pokemon when I can just pop in a cartridge and enjoy the air conditioner while I kick ass and take names? (im joking, but Pokemon Go is kinda silly, it really is just randomly placed stickers the way how i understand it)

I mean is there even fighting in Pokemon GO or is it basically just Snapchat-Pokemon filter?

Battles, trading and more Pokemon are coming, it's still very early days yet.

From what i Have heard about soo far, Trading will be the next feature followed by Battles.

You can already battle gyms though.

When I take into account the fact that people all around the world are so passionate about the game that they will travel around to go find pokemon, reach poke stops and gyms, regardless if it's on safe land or trespassing private property, cause mayhem on the roads, and getting themselves mugged...

I think this game makes for some wonderful entertainment. And the news is doing a great job blowing up the story in the papers. The records the game is pulling off; number of players, sales, etc. will be the talk for a while. People getting themselves in trouble will create some noise around parts of the world. Journalists will have a great amount of material to work from, so they'll be keeping their jobs for a while.

I'm just waiting for more news drama to blame the game more.

That's the thing. It gets people outside and it gets them walking around. I think this is just the start of a series of games that are similar in concept but with different themes.

I reckon this would work really well with a Dragonball Z series and have it as you the character and you battle things to make your level stronger or something.

But i think other franchises would struggle to compete atleast now given the significant history and depth in the Pokemon series compared to others, so long as they keep the updates coming to keep it fresh they should have this for awhile now.

For all the stories of unfortunate endings that are being posted, there seem to be a wealthy supply of good news, mostly about businesses finding ways to use to the game to their advantage. I do laugh at some of the crazier ideas such as a dating app surrounding the game.

It would be cool to see more games encourage excercising, but I feel Pokémon would be the only one that works since it is reasonably interesting to walk. Having players walk in order to get more lives in an app is nowhere near as fun as actually catching a Pokémon.

I think it's a concept that could be expanded to any game that requires you to find anything in the game. Take GTA for example, in V you had to collect all sorts of crap in the game that was in some way related to the story line, but they could for instance, re-introduce simple "Hidden Packages" to be found in the real world via a GO!-esque app. Wouldn't have to be storyline related but could offer a bonus.

It's fun until a kid run right in front of your car trying to get that Pokemon in the park infront without looking at traffic but his eyes stuck to his portable. I dont know I just find it too dangerous. There's already report of people following GPS blindly into a lake imagine what it could do with a game where you have to chase things.

Is there rarer pokemon that appear only at certain time or certain condition ?

How long before they have to throw a safety car when some Pokemon appears on a track and someone goes on track to get it?

Hope they didnt break down again for chasing that Pokemon on the last lap >_<

I guess. That kid would learn a great lesson to constantly check the road before setting foot on it. Such a shock will make it an instinctive reaction. If some parents can't teach this to their kids, perhaps their own mistake will.

Roads are dangerous?! What a revelation! You're taught at an incredibly young age in the Scottish education system to be extremely careful around roads. I'd assume other countries in the world also treat this as a very valuable lesson. At the end of the day, doing anything whilst crossing a road is too dangerous - Pokemon Go didn't start road safety being key to people's existence.

You're taught to not drive into lakes too with a car, yet people managed it following their GPS ^^

Yeah especially when GPS first came out people were blinding following it regardless of their better judgement... into rivers... off cliffs... on to runways! etc

Not when pokemon are involved, then roads are just an obstacle between you and victory
