Putting a patrol shoe into the accelerator will reveal Ford's latest 3.5-liter EcoBoost V-6 engine paired with the automaker's new 10-speed automatic transmission. To the joy of officers, the gear selector is mounted on the steering column—again, to free up floor space. Start-stop technology is also present to aid in efficiency. Ford has added an electronic limited-slip differential as well, while a high-output 240-amp alternator replaces the stock unit to meet the demands faced with excessive idling.
Available with a 5.0-liter V-8 or the same 3.5-liter EcoBoost V-6 found in the Expedition SSV, the F-150 SSV may not offer the most practical solution for police, but it fills a niche where towing capability is necessary. Fleets may also order the F-150 SSV in SuperCrew and SuperCab configurations, with either 4x4 or 4x2 drivetrains.
The Front Fascia of the grill is somewhat similar though if you look at it.The Flex is a Five Hundred wagon. The Expedition is an actual truck based SUV.
"Ford Police Responder Hybrid Sedan"
38 mpg!!
I guess having a hybrid makes sense, if it is only going to be used to respond to calls, not actually be an interceptor.
Taurus police interceptors (along with dodge chargers and chevrolet caprice) over here are only used as traffic police so a hybrid fusion should make sense to be used here.It probably won't be used for high speed chases, but the fact that it has such a high MPG will be perfect for police departments. Since their cars have to operate for such a long time every day, any range increase helps.
Pictures still don't workThen there's their current fleet: Beautiful *You might need to hit the Reply button to see them *
That's the fire department.
I'm okay with it. Still in the Emergency Vehicle Genre like he said. It also originates off of a current interceptor. That's the fire department.
Pretty Silly if you ask me: I personally would of gone with a Subaru Levorg Turbo, it will be the right price and actually have the speed and space they need, this just seems like a waste of tax payers money for something that won't perform the job as well as a much cheaper car.Volvo XC90 is a NSW Hwy Patrol car

Can't understand why the WRX isn't used country wide. Might not have the outright top speed of the XR8, but it ticks the boxes in everything else.Pretty Silly if you ask me: I personally would of gone with a Subaru Levorg Turbo, it will be the right price and actually have the speed and space they need, this just seems like a waste of tax payers money for something that won't perform the job as well as a much cheaper car.
