Just curious to see the numbers at this point.

Feel free to elaborate.

My sentiments at this point are, I hope that it will be, but I'm not convinced enough to believe it will be.

I am fairly positive it will be great, better than GT5 at the very least. The new physics, cars, track and online mode are enough to make me buy it.

When it comes to PS3 exclusives, I'll still look to The Last Of Us as the loudest statement of the system's legacy, at least going by what I currently know of GT6. That could change, if there's massive surprises left for GT6 that completely re-organize how we view racing games. I know they're completely different genres, but TLOU has affected nearly everyone I know who's played it on an emotional level that GT itself just can't pull off.

That being said, by its nature of being a post-PS4-release title, GT6 will be the last big racing game for a system that's dominated by GT. Even GT5, a lacklustre game by GT standards, was still a good - even great, in ways - racing game. GT6 largely looks to at least match that - whether that will stand up to 2013 standards compared to 2010 standards is just something we won't know until December 6th.

I believe that GT6 is what 5 should have been so yes I would say it will be,the livery editor means little to me as I'd just as soon race painted RM's without decals as with them, yes it may need to be patched some but it is what it is.

I think the Sony/PD PR machine would've showered us with much more details about all aspects of the game if they thought it would be great. The lack of such information points to a decent, maybe very good game at best, but not great. Anything we haven't already heard of regarding the AI, A-spec, livery editor probably means these haven't changed much (or at all) from GT5.

I hope I'm wrong, but it's not looking that way.

I think GT6 will a good game, but not great as the definition of it is extremely subjective especially with fierce competition from PC sims and next gen racing titles on PS4 and Xbox 180 (DriveClub, FM5, pCARS etc).

If PD hasn't sorted out the most glaring issues that have dogged the gameplay experience (Sounds, AI etc) then GT6 isn't going to be a truly great game. There are plenty more games on this console generation that deserve the "greatness" title more than GT does.

2nd game on the PS3, it sure better be! This is where they finally found out how to use the hardware more efficiently, no more excuses!

With what we have seen so far, I'm confident PD will get things right this time.

I imagine it will be a good game, but I'm not expecting the same sort of levels of "OMG that was unreal" as something like TLOU. 8/10, not 9+/10.

I see the PS3's swan song as TLOU; I really cant say enough things about that game. I play alot of games and that whole experience was truely something amazing.

I'm very confident that GT6 will be a much better game than GT5(which I still enjoy). However, I'm not confident enough to say that GT6 will be an amazing achievement. I sure hope it will be but right now I'm cautiously optimistic until I have a chance to play the final product.

Yes I'm sure of it.

This is very subjective.
But I found GT5 to be great so no doubt I'll think the same of GT6. ;)

GT5 spec2 is already pretty good and with PD fixing most of GT5 issues. It is a instant winner. I am going to predict it will be great. But may be it is better to have low expectations.

I think it would be a great game for everyone who love simulators, but if you don't, I don't think it is worth buying..

Yes definitely, but don't forget about the Uncharted series. Those were some really good games! Naughty Dog makes some really good games. 👍

Depends. What others may think is great is different - It is all subjective. However, I'm confident that GT6 will be better than GT5.

Well the point is that Polyphony had about 1/2 of the budget on GT5 on what they have for GT6, so more money invested then more money made, which means a better game in gameplay so YES

Better yes, great only if it tackles with the biggest issues (sound, ai, a spec depth, more car customization options, leaderboards). The reason is the graphics and physics that the game is improved were more than decent in GT5, but in those other areas it was severely lacking. Unfortunately PD don't look like they paid attention on improving the big flaws of GT5, for GT6. Really hoping that PD proves me wrong on my predictions!!!

IMO greatness can be achieved in at least a couple of ways.

1. Do something groundbreakingly better than anyone has done before without any glaring omissions to gameplay or major flaws.

2. Do everything really, really well, as good as anyone else does in individual areas but bringing them together as a coherent single package.

#2 I think is out for PD. No livery editor at release, and probably not at all on the PS3 platform, no improved sounds at release. AI is questionable based on what we've seen so far, which is very little, but no announcement has been made about improving AI.

#1 is a possibility but with such limited information before release, there is simply no way to know until the game is played. The new physics model may be fantastic, as good or better than anything else, but we don't know. The course maker has the potential for greatness, but again, we don't know. But can they pull off at least one area of the game better than anyone ever has without a major flaw like poor sounds or AI? I highly doubt that as well.

We must also keep in mind there is the potential for some elements of the game to be an achilles heel. We already know that wider rims will be available. Will they be adaptable to all cars? If so, will they provide more grip or be cosmetic only? If they provide only cosmetic enhancements I'd consider that a major fail, but if they also affect grip, how will the be factored into PP because tires are not currently factored in? If factored into PP will it be done well enough that it doesn't provide either a boost or an anchor to cars with wider rims? This one simple element of the game if not done correctly has the potential to affect all online racing.

I said no because great is such a big word. I don't have those kind of expectations for the game. I think the game's quality is going to be related to the patches in the game just like GT5.

Great in what way? Great as an improvement over GT5, or just an all around stellar racing game? I think it will definitely be at the very least an improvement on GT5 in every notable aspect, so I'd say it will be great in that way.

I don't think it's going to revolutionize console racing sims, but it doesn't need to and I don't expect anything of the sort. Though the expectations for "new" and groundbreaking will be higher for GT7 on PS4.
