Honestly, no. I think it has the potential to be great but PD doesn't seem to listen to the fans, releasing half finished games, all that which has been stated a million times before. And because it's been said a million times with limited results I predict another great opportunity wasted.

I hope I am wrong.

I voted "no". GT5 killed the love I had for the series. This time I will be much more careful before buying and I will wait until I read the opinions of people in here. However I think GT6 will be a good game, however GT5 has done a lot of damage......

Considering the current racing games standards and that the time period to be considered is the release date day version, I don't think it will be great. Certainly GT5 wasn't and from what we know PD is working slower than the rest, while there's more alternatives than ever in consoles and on the PC.

If this was a poll for GT5 before it released, I think you would have seen a lot more in the "yes" column. GT5 disappointed a lot of people, and it proved that PD is human and makes mistakes. Hopefully they get back on their feet with GT6.

When it comes to PS3 exclusives, I'll still look to The Last Of Us as the loudest statement of the system's legacy, at least going by what I currently know of GT6. That could change, if there's massive surprises left for GT6 that completely re-organize how we view racing games. I know they're completely different genres, but TLOU has affected nearly everyone I know who's played it on an emotional level that GT itself just can't pull off.
Yeah, which is highly unlikely.

The online service, car customisation and sounds, are the three areas that needs the most improvement in my opinion. Without much change/improvement in at least one of these areas I fail to see how GT6 could be much different compared to GT5.

Yes definitely, but don't forget about the Uncharted series. Those were some really good games! Naughty Dog makes some really good games. 👍

They absolutely do, and the creativity on display in games like that (where the primary goal isn't just flat-out recreating reality, but producing something semi-plausible) is what astounds me 👍

Yeah, which is highly unlikely.

You said it, not me :P.

There isn't a doubt in my mind that when best-of lists for the PS3 start appearing in a post-PS4 world (for the system's library in general, not for any specific genres), GT6 will be somewhere up near the top.

Yes. I'm hoping they know what to tweak/add/change after GT5. Even with the problems with GT5 it was still a good (just not great) game. 👍

I answered the poll just to see what the consensus was. I was pleased to see a healthy 1/3 are not frothing themselves into a frenzy about the imminent coming of the Messiah. Look, let's face facts:

1. PD are pretty good at generating hype with their trailers. The hype rarely translates across into the game.

2. They still haven't figured out how to get decent sounds in game. If I were a betting man, I'd put my money on them not appearing until GT7 but even then, I wouldn't hold my breath.

3. The AI will be non existent. The only racing that will happen will be online.

4. Course maker? Let's judge that on merit, not hype or (dwindling) area numbers.

5. And finally, no amount of speculation or random thread generation about 'what are you most looking forward to' will make an iota of difference to the end product. Sorry to pi$$ on your parade but it's really quite pointless.

On the flip side, yes, I pre-ordered. Can't go wrong for £35. But I fully expect it to be incomplete out of the box with gradual, yet ultimately insignificant improvements along the way.

Sheeeet. I think I've just justified PD's business plan.

No.

Sound, sound, sound, sound.

I let it go on PSX and PS2, even the first GT on PS3 gets a pass. But to read that the sound in GT6 won't be improved on release, well that has forced me to the dark side. I have owned every major GT game, but this time I will be buying my first ever Xbox with a copy of Forza 5. No GT6 for me (never say never though).

No. I might be wrong for judging a game we know so little about, but seeing as how broken GT5 was, I really don't have high hopes for this game. I probably will buy it, but... eh. It just doesn't seem like PD is doing everything they can with this game. There's a whole lot more they could have done with GT5 (which I will now call GT4.5 because it honestly seemed like GT4 plus a few premium cars, DLC, and multiplayer). Lets hope GT6 is everything we wanted and that it is everything GT5 should have been.

I can't vote yet. Certainly better than the already enjoyable GT5 in my eyes.

I'm hoping it will be a good send off for the PS3. Of course, no matter how good it is, we're going to see about 650 rant threads on day one about how absolutely appalling one very minor feature (or major feature that doesn't actually suck) is. The ones that will never be satisfied will always be here waiting.

I don't think GT6 will be a great game, that is in an overall kind of sense. I think it will have some great things in it, but will also suffer from a multitude of serious flaws, like all other GT games.

It most likely will be better than GT5 but I don't know if I would use the word "great". Time will tell if PD comes through, anything else is just speculation.

There was too many things I didn't like about GT5 to pre-order 6, I will sit tight for a few months after release before I make my decision.

I think it'll be a decent game at best and maybe what I/we expected GT5 to be 3 years ago but nowhere near great, the standards have risen a lot while PD's design probably hasn't.

I voted no because at launch im pretty sure it's gonna be a complete failure..but after time it will become a great game

I don't really "believe" anything, either way. I expect it could be a great game - depends what you want from it.

It's practically given that it will be better than GT5 overall, though. The fun will be in seeing which parts have regressed this time around despite that.

GT for all its flaws some how makes all other racing games I'v played feel empty and small.. So yes it will be the ps3's swan song.. The last of us was more off a debate ender ..

Well now that Drive Club is reported to be delayed into 2014, I really hope it's great to fill the gap of a game I was looking forward to!!

I think it's horrible that we're even expecting some parts of the game to be as bad as GT5 or worse. That shouldn't even be an option in a sequel.

I think they should have just put out GT4HD+Online at the start of the PS3 generation and done away with all the fuss.

2nd has always been the best on previous generations. A lot still depends on how much they improve things like sounds which is silly that it is still a problem to them when compared to competition. If they just add tracks and cars, it just will be a good game. To be a great game, they need to improve bad things about GT5 and not put all the effort on things they already are good at, like car models.

With that said, I must say that new physics will rock entire simracing genre(including PC)

I suspect it will be a very good game not sure about great because I won;t be able to tell until I actually play it.

Voted yes, but you might need some extra options, like 'Not convinced but hopeful', or 'expecting the worst but could be better'.

I voted yes, perhaps out of blind belief. I believe it will be better, but I can't lay my finger on why. Perhaps for me, not having so much info prior to launch is a good thing. It was actually all the pre-release PR and talk that setup the dissapointment for me...

Yes I'm sure of it.

This is very subjective.
But I found GT5 to be great so no doubt I'll think the same of GT6. ;)
GT for all its flaws some how makes all other racing games I'v played feel empty and small..
What they said.

I know that "greatness" in a racing game is entirely an individual perception. For some of us here, it seems like sound quality is more important than physics! But for millions of us on planet Earth, one game stands above the rest as a love affair with all things automotive. I have a lot of unplayed games because that weird but wonderful beastie known as GT5 keeps bringing me back to my DFGT.
