Breaking news: Trump against wind farms in Scotland
Hmm, this could be a headline winner. Imagine whenever he gives an opinion on something:

"Trump on the Homeless"

Or if he gets a bit peeved about the paparazzi:

"Angry Trump Floors Photographer"

Or, as President, he acts to delay legislation:

"Trump Postpones Patriot Act Debate"

Or just gets the plane home:

"Trump Aboard Air Force One"

He's just the git that keeps on giving.

The Republicans have a real problem now: do they accept Trump on their ticket and let him risk damaging their image, or refuse and let him be a thorn in their side with a parallel campaign?
It doesn't quite work like this. There are election laws that set the rules for what has to happen to appear on the ballot. Then once on the ballot a candidate says what party primary they are running for. Republicans can refuse to support Trump, and in general one candidate gets the majority of support from the party during the primary anyway, but if that candidate wins the primary they are that party's candidate.

The current system rarely backfires on a political party, but occasionally the party-supported primary candidate will lose, and the party immediately rallies behind their new candidate. This is how Rand Paul got into office. He won a primary against the party favorite. The next morning every major Republican was his best friend.

So they could genuinely end up supporting a run for President Trump, do you think? No English-speaking country would take that guff seriously.

Considering this is Trump's second or third go around at a presidential run I think we are just dealing with an immature generation. When I hear trump I think of cards. Of course, trump in the way you all are describing it is not common in American English.

And the truth is that Trump isn't serious. He always drops out just after he makes enough noise to get back in the spotlight. Trump is a brand. A presidential run is marketing for that brand.

Now I just feel deflated.
I'll be honest. I'll need an urban dictionary search after work to get any trump-related jokes.

But I now want to continue using trump in my language in the hope that I will make an unintentional funny.

Also, when an American says, "I trumped you," what does that mean to you?

Or if someone wants to be Trump's apprentice?

You have to admit though,

dat first lady...

Is that a dress? It looks like something I'd have to beg my wife to wear to bed.

It is surprising what passes as a dress these days... pretty much stuff that would have been in the bedroom 20 years ago.

That reminds me, the first daughter. I'd vote for him if it meant she would tour the country campaigning.

You know, it's hard to take claims of adding jobs seriously when they have a show where they fire someone every episode.

Yeah, he has contributed to the unemployment of young professionals more than anyone else!

I thought this was his first year of officially running...? If my memory serves correct, he only mentioned it last year...?

What do you guys think? It's still an income tax, but it's a huge improvement.

One thing about Bernie Sanders which does impress me is that he talks about issues. No mudslinging, no accusations, he just brings issues he is passionate about to the front and puts in his input.

Yes, issues like why we only need one type of deodorant. Bernie is a typical socialist demagogue.

Cutting taxes won't work when you start another war.

It's always great to see these promises when they are running, as soon as they have the seat things never turn out as promised.

Rand Paul is not a war hawk. He also wants to cut all foreign aid and shut down a number of the hundreds of overseas military bases. Until recently he has very much been on the not getting involved at all side of things. With Iran he has taken the stance that something needs to be done but military intervention is the absolute last choice.

I did notice an interesting thing about Paul's ad. He presented his plan and what he says it will do. He did not say that if he is elected he will make it happen. That is not in the power of the president to do and he and his father have been careful in their careers to propose plans and say they will work with Congress to make it happen and not claim that they will enact it themselves. That was Obama's biggest mistake in the healthcare law. He made definitive statements about what would happen before it was finalized, when he had no real power to make any of it happen.

It looks like a good idea but is it feasible? If you remove the FICA workers tax, where does the money come from to fill the money gap caused by the removal of the tax? Also, are other taxes increased? What about the small businesses that have tax breaks but would now have to pay 14.5%? Is that fair for them?
