Got cable broadband for 20€/month.

I could still upgrade it but I think this is okay.

This is just cable broadband, but because of some weird, totally unknown reason, I get this:
content

Keep in mind that my friend gets 12 down and 19 up with 50ms latency on the same exact plan as I do, and he doesn't even live a mile away from me. Which makes my speed all the more weird.

Just a question, I have about 4 devices hooked up to my cable broadband (desktop, laptop, ps3 and a satellite dish), so does that affect my internet speed. What else does it affect?

I can't copy it with my PS3 browser.
Download 19.03mb/s
Upload 0.82mb/s
Ping 29ms
My closest server was 150mi. away and my isp was double for compared to the avg.

The ping test were all over the map and couldn't even do the packet loss test. What does all this mean lol.

Crappy 840k and 440k, don't know the ping ( Live in Alaska ) but it probably sucks.

At least GT5 has a stong offline mode!

Although I look forward to racing online, I'll still probably invest the majority of my time working my way through GT Mode!

My online friends arent as reliable as built-in AI that you can fight against at a drop of a hat.

Hopefully your internet services improve soon, so you can at least try it.

👍

Depending on the specification of your router, and if your other devices are sending large volumes of traffic, it shouldnt affect GT5 online performance.

Some routers can be configured to reserve bandwidth for certain types of traffic (i.e. Gaming, VOIP), this is called Quality of Service, but may well be re-branded on your router as something else.

It's definitely worth spending some time understanding what your router can do for you, and do some google searches to see other people discussing these topics!

Hope that helps,

Send: 81,53 Mbit/sec
Recieve: 92,50 Mbit/sec
Ping: 3 ms
Server: Sundsvall - Sweden
ISP: Bredband2 100/100

with speedtest

These results are done with my pc, don´t know the results with my ps3 but a lot slower i guess

mine looks rather slow but i had a feeling it would be but i guess if its fast enough for gta and for gt5p then it should be ok i hope

Im surprised mine isnt the worst. Although i reckon its probably the most unreliable. No its not Virgin Media, i used to have Virgins 20mb service before moving house. This is the fastest service available in this location. Pretty laughable really. Shows internet connections still needs several improvements

Hopefully this will be good enough, i mostly don't have any trouble playing anything else online. I hope GT5 has good dedicated servers as that would ruin the game otherwise.

My local exchange is curently undergoing a upgrade to fibre optic, so will have to find out after 31-December-2010 is when its supposed to be done.

They estimate it will be 30.0Mb download, 7.2Mb upload after its done.

So THAT'S what universitys are spending money on....

And yes, my Internet is BS.
-.9-1mb/s download, .3 or so if the Internet crashes/parents invade the Internet
-.3mb/s upload...

Yeah...qwest sucks...big time. No 7mb package in Tucson, and my dad is 't working due to tearing his arclilie tendon...so yeah, 🤬 on money.

The speed of your connection doesn't only depend on the speed delivered by your ISP and the speed of the etherenet/wireless at home.

It also depends on how far away the server is you want to connect to, how fast the routers & connection are on to way over there.
