Not being a fanboy, but I expected much less from it. This little taste of GT6 was absolutely delightful. Now the wait for GT6 is going to be much harder. I just wish they gave us a tiny bit more. 11 out of 10

Pretty much my feelings. In love with the idea of what it will be on release!

I gave the demo a 'good' rating. I didn't give it an 'excellent' as the AI was poor as usual, and the fps drop is ridiculous when in the cockpit view. I'm sure the latter will be sorted come final release, but I'm not so sure of the AI becoming much more competitive than what we have in GT5.

However, I was pleasantly surprised about the new suspension model and the new visual effects/lighting, especially at Autumn Ring, and it turns out I now love Silverstone:tup:.

My guess is that they think the buying public is aware that the cars are just placeholders. Some won't be of course, but I think it's a sign of complacency on their part and feeling they have a captured market and don't have to do any better. I was disappointed to see cars on the track at all and would have preferred simple free run type TT's and the ability to free run all the cars on each track. How difficult would it have been to set up a series of TT's based on each car/track combination, prolonging the gameplay and fan immersion into the demo? Not difficult at all methinks.

I went back to the first races this morning thinking I'd be able to attack the leaderboards there (since I'm in a country that doesn't support GTA, so no point working on that).

I was mighty disappointed to find that there was no leaderboards for the Leaf or 370Z races. That could have been a good few hours of gameplay right there.

Funny enough I didn't see the FPS drop only when it went from Rolling start to actual game did I see the FPS as a problem, but that was short lasted.

The Shadows issue saw it once, but it wasn't enough to bother me. Maybe later it might depending on how bad it gets.

Well I went back to the demo today and checked my settings. I was running 1080P and had not saw any issues. Today I ran a few races and some against the ghost in 3 different views, bumper, roof and cockpit.

I paid very close attention to the track, railing and such to see if I saw any frame rate shudder on screen and the result was that in cockpit view I could barely tell that there was maybe a small frame rate drop when coming up on 3 cars and one of them kicked up some dust in a corner. The only other issue I noticed was at the start of the race some flickering on the track which if I am not mistaken has happened in every GT I have played so far regardless of resolution.

So basically I do not see what the big complaint is. Either you guys are seeing something much different than I am on my PS3 Slim or you are begin far to critical of the game demo.

As demos go I thought it was "Good" (for the poll vote), it was pretty much what I expected though there were some things I don't personally like.

Physics: Great improvement generally speaking, there is the obvious change / improvement in the body roll and the car / suspension generally felt much more alive than in GT6, there are also a lot of more subtle changes too that I can sort of feel but not necessarily articulate properly.

Graphics: Generally better and more polished, in some ways it doesn't look "that much better" than GT5 but again I think there's a lot more subtle stuff going on in the background (this is what I was expecting to see). One thing I didn't like was it seems that the the colour saturation or contrast or something was a bit high at times, e.g. the colours on Autumn Ring just seem way too vibrant and need to washed out some. I did see some minor framerate drops in cockpit view, mostly if I was doing donuts, which I assume are simply down to it being a demo build.

Menu / UI: I like the functionality of the new menu system, it's much more fluid than GT5 and I like the way the actual race event menu screen, garage menu and other secondary menus look. But I really don't like the look of the new main menu / GT Life screen, it reminds me of some kind of cheesy smartphone / tablet menu you flick across with your finger with it's big "press here" buttons.

Tutorial / Guide: I'm all for tutorials, driving schools, tool tips and other useful stuff like that but I found the Lucas Ordonez tutorial feature to be more annoying than useful. Now I'm not being mean to him as a person just the feature, it was cool at first to see Lucas (a former Academy winner) pop up to start the game off but from there on his annoying grinning face kept popping up with "helpful info" and reminded me of the whole MS Office / Mr Clippy Assistant fiasco from a number of years ago.. Oh you want to race, first you've got to buy a car! Don't forget to brake for that corner up ahead!

I wasn't expecting much, so I was a surprised by the FFB and physics, it's definitely an improvement over GT5 here. I actually had fun driving the leaf, as it handled like some FF cars I have driven before in real life and not the usual understeer only as GT5.

I did think the body roll looks a bit exaggerated though.
The lighting looks better, but overall the graphics are worse than GT5 with no AA.

Not sure if I'll buy or not yet.

A must buy for me ... I just spent 6 hours driving with all of the cars, and still wanted more laps and more laps. No frame rate issues, smooth on the races and TT - tried the chase, cockpit and bumper. I mainly play in cockpit though.

Now I want the physics in the demo transplanted via an update into GT5, PRONTO !!! Suspension and tire model update would be more than enough.

I found the demo to be very good and it shows GT6 is heading in a positive direction. The new physics feel so much different on my wheel than in GT5 meaning you have to really work hard to push fast.

I will still be reserving absolute full judgement on the full game until the release.

lets not kid ourselves, most of us will buy the game.

i liked:

physics
background graphics. trees etc
loading times

didn't like:

car sounds -gt4 had better sounds than gt5 and this demo
framerate issues
graphics/ menus/ menu music in general feel abit acadey - gt5 looks crisper
lack of excitement - strong ai and better sounds would have greatly helped

overall i went to sleep thinking 'its ok i guess'

6/10

Great little taste, but I am a biased fan. Menus look a lot more ordered, loading times faster, love the new handling.
Only complaint being the AI, still almost slow enough to be dangerously difficult to avoid crushing into most of the times...

Although this was just a demo I could see and feel the small details and improvements that PD have a reputation for being meticulous for. The most notable was the suspension. Driving these cars that were pure factory really tells you a lot about each car. In the FF I felt a decent amount of push and understeer when corners as well as body pitch and roll. In the FR car I felt the weight transfer when transitioning much better than in GT5 for an all around more realistic sensation.

The graphic user interface kind of gave me a through back feel with updated tech. It was easy to use fast. I'll be excited to see what the finish product will like.

I vote "Good" because, hmm looks good, but we have months for wait and they
have time for got more fixes and better things, the final release is for "Exellent"...

Different physics, but otherwise no meaningful improvement on any aspects that I felt needed serious work. Which is what GT6 was supposed to have.

I downloaded the demo to set a lap time for GT Academy, and the actual 'racing' in the demo was a complete and utter waste of my time. There is no race that is short enough that would make racing opponents with that AI bearable.

A sterile experience, and overall, a pathetic effort from PD. If GT6 is anywhere close to the quality of this demo then I will not buy it.

While I voted Excellent, that was more a combo of the GTA Trial and what I expect GT6 to be. The "demo" itself is pretty good. I was hoping that it would feel a little more PC sim than GT5, but PD seems to advance incrementally. Regardless, it's a very welcome increment. But one thing that did stick out:

5) Hearing Get Away by Liuca Ceccatelli for the first time since GT5P.👍
I seriously love the inclusion of some Prologue soundtrack bits! SONY should bring over every soundtrack piece from Prologue to GT6.

I think it's too early to assess this demo; this is hardly a demo, if anything. It's a offset build of GT6 that is used for GT Academy 2013; that's all it is in my eyes.

But for my experience of playing it, I'd let it off with a 6 or 7. There wasn't much else to do after nine hours of playing it; now it's going to sit on my HDD until a possible update.

I'd like to change from my original "good" to "poor"

The more i play the more i realise it is a very slightly tweaked GT5 physics model, the graphics have got worse, the framerate is terrible (with only 1 car on track too!!!), the AI are thick as #*&@ and the load times are masked by different screens.
From pressing button in menu to actually driving can't be far off what it is in GT5 and remember this Silverstone track and all data is on HDD so it will be slower when it has to search a Blu-ray for bits of data on the GT6 disc. !

I'd like to be optimistic and think it will all be sorted for release but there is no point kidding myself.
Its going to be another mess that the gaming media are going to rip apart.
This isn't where Gran Turismo should be in 2013.

This is the only GT game i have not got that feeling where i'd like to sleep until release day then buy it at midnight.
Its a sad, sad day for me:-(

It's about what I expected, but even if all it offered were a slicker UI, decreased load times and better physics, that's enough for me to pick it up when released, although I do of course hope there's more improvement in other areas as well - a much better AI being on the top of the list.

I enjoyed the demo, and I thought it offered a lot for being a simple demo. I remember the GT5 demo was just one time trial.

From my experience playing it, I felt Polyphony made subtle improvements all around. Biggest standout for me was the new improved physics and suspension modeling. This is by far the most realistic GT game to date. However, I do think the new suspension modeling was a bit too exaggerated. There were times were one side of the car was practically touching the asphalt. It's just a small complaint; I rather have the new suspension modeling with all its flaws than not have it at all.

The menus look great, loading times seem faster, graphics of cars seem to be the same, but the tracks seem to be just an extra bit more detailed than in GT5. The AI was far too easy. I don't know whether PD handicapped them on purpose for the demo, or not, but if this is how the AI of the final product will be, I'll be greatly disappointed.

I'll most likely be buying the game, but personally I don't think this is that great of a leap for GT. I like the improvements, but I have to wait and see how the game really is until the final product comes out.

I am enjoying the demo for sure, but I am really wondering about how the loading times will be once this is a disc game vs an h.d. game, I am worried that the demo menus etc. are responsive just because this is an h.d. install and once this goes on the blu-ray drive with a ton of cars it will not be nearly as quick.

I need more playing time but I'm very pleased with the physics. Since that was my#1 area of interest, I have to say it's very promising. I intend on doing some hot lapping in the stock Z and comparing it to GT5 more.

Otherwise I'm tempering my judgement as this really isn't a GT6 Demo but GTA 2013 running on GT6's engine. Game play with the AI was pitiful, sounds were the same and I had issues with frame rates in cockpit cam. Enough that I switched to bumper. Hopefully these are all QC issues. Overall graphics weren't a huge leap but GT5 looks great already to me except for jagged shadows etc...

The UI I liked better I guess but really was expecting something more interesting. Didn't like the full screen flag screen transition. Too generic and cheap looking.

The main thing I'm looking forward to is the physics change. Having the cars be closer to their real life counterparts and allowing them to have more personalities will be wonderful. The cars are what's most important-how they feel and react to inputs in a believable manner is promising.

I like it, heres the pros and cons imo:
Pro: Graphics are enhanced, and The menus are amazing  much more user-friendly. The track scenery is beautiful, the trees are not trees, but no longer green and brown pixels, either. The camera replays are much better, and the shadows are pretty cleaned up. PD impressed me!
Con: The penalty system still disallows you to get on the rumble strip :(. The AI, while more content to block are still driving like its a cruise. And while i never experienced this, people are getting choppy frames.
Neutral: The sound is still Gt5 sound, but as we were told Pd still is working on this. There are Zero fans at the racetracks, but seeing as its GTA if im not mistaken, you cant buy tickets to see GTA competitions.

Buying this for sure 9/10

Okay. Here are my full thoughts from the start up.

Tutorial: Nothing against that guy Lucas, but I don't want to see him or anyone else in the final game. Enough of Zombie Jeff and his passive aggressive tips. Although it adds a bit more of life to the game and it gives it this very nice oldschool feel, I don't want someone patronizing me while I play. I've been playing GT since the 90's so I know what I'm doing. And option to turn it off/on would be nice.

Menu: Wonderful, wonderful! The simplicity of the menus, yet the nice modern feel to them is so welcome to the game. It lost the flashy car showroom from GT5, but it kinda works. I was for once afraid that the menu would loose the old GT feel to them, but it feels so damn great now. So intuitive and so easy to navigate through all the features and the options. The new garage reminds me a bit of GT4's, but it looks like it will be much easier to organize everything now. Well done, PD. Don't you dare change it in the final version.

Options: Everything is available quickly and without much navigating through menus. We still are missing options while driving like in GT5 though. I believe that will be added in the final version. Also, don't forget the option to turn off the HUD, PD! I want my screen clean, with nothing more than my cock pit view.

Graphics: The graphics are not better than GT5; they are just different. And that's good. Graphics were already great in the previous game. This is were opinions might differ, but I honestly didn't notice any framerate drops at all like some people claim. I don't know if the game starts suffering from this at higher resolution, but with a small 32 inch HD TV running at 720p, graphics although different than GT5 they felt smoother and I could even see the dashboard with more detail than before. Light effects look smoother as well and I loved how they changed the shadows inside the car. Contrast is better as well, and vision doesn't go black when the sun shines in front of your car anymore. On the negative side, I could notice some glitches in the shadows at Autumn Ring mini, but it was only at the distance in a very small spot and unnoticeable when driving.

Tracks: People can say how Grand Valley still looks the same as GT4, but I beg to differ on that. The track looks okay and I find no reason to say it looks like rubbish. The new dusk setting works fabulous on it and I can certainly notice a whole different and better feel to it. Tracks have never been an issue to me, unless you park in a corner and decide to take a pic. Autumn Ring has suffered a drastic make over, and I surely hope more classic tracks receive the same treatment. The detail on the trees, the barricades and the sun felt so warm. I never expect for PD to improve an old track so drastically, but I'm happy they did. Now to give trail Mountain a bit of love! Silverstone was in a another league. That track is absolutely gorgeous.

Physics: I honestly didn't thought they were going to be this different from GT5, but also so damn enjoyable. Here I was thinking that I wouldn't feel a difference in the Leaf, being such a slow car, but OMG, even the little Leaf was such a blast to drive. The body roll looks fantastic, although I may add that in the Leaf it was a bit too exaggerate. Driving the Fairlady was a completely different deal. I don't think I've ever taken a car to its limits so easily in GT5. I actually avoid it because I hate making mistakes. But here I was taking the stock Fairlady near its limits in every turn and something about how the car feels now made me push it harder in the next lap. I play with a DS3; analog sticks for steering, accelerating and braking. I could feel each tire now. I could feel how it gripped, how it lost traction, where each tire was now. It was beautiful. The weight transfer works beautifully and there are no surprises of what the car would do in the next turn anymore like in GT5. Then I jumped in the tuned Fairlady, expecting that things would feel flatter and lifeless with a racing suspension, but how wrong I was. there is less grip now, but it's somehow easier to take the car through the turns as fast as you can. Then it was the GT-R... Such a boring and lifeless car in GT5 despite being an incredibly fast machine. Now that car lives to its legend. I found myself doing lap after lap with no intention on putting great times, but having the drive of my life! GT6's physics have brought new life to this car, and I can't wait to try my favorite cars in the final version.

Sounds: Still a placeholder I know. However apart from the softer volume, the sounds are as good as they were in GT5. As long as they give each car its distinctive engine note and finally fix that nonesense were if you change the exhaust you get a random and usually terrible sound, the sounds don't really need much improvement. If what you want are 2F2F unrealistic and artificial loudness, then try NFS. In that game you'll get your dose of distorted and horribly compressed engine sounds.

Other: I hope I'm not the only one who noticed that the tunned Fairlady had larger brakes with bigger orange Brembo calipers. This technically being a stock car tuned with the game's parameters and parts, and not a separately modeled car, might be a hint that we are finally getting brake upgrades!

Hmm, perhaps I'm one of the few than wanted more from the UI. It's too basic for me. I'd like to see more depth and variety. While it looks nice, it doesn't look innovative. I especially don't like the dealership. It doesn't even feel like a dealership. It feels like buying right out of your garage!

The game is a massive improvement over the last game (Except for A.I and for now the sounds).

The new physics are delightful and the new graphics show their worth.

I gave it a good as to be honest some things still need to improve. I'm still sold on this game though.

Thinking it over, I do change my mind. I think the dealership at least might need some improvements. It almost feels as if the cars were from the UCD in GT5. And as you say, it looks identical to the garage. Maybe if they add a "Showroom" feature, apart from the basic car display that would improve things a bit.

Ah yes, the UCD in GT5. That's one way of putting it.

Honestly, the dealership in GT5 was already awesome for me in terms of car display. You could see the cars in night settings, daylight settings, studio settings, etc. It had closeups to show the car's fine lines and what. It sometimes get close enough that you can even see the interior change colors and you browse through the different paint options.

I'm pretty confident that it won't be as basic as the GTA 2013 demo though. I mean if they are, that's really stepping back.
