Will You Buy GT7?

Yes Shift 2 had its problems no doubt about it. But as @VBR I think the community involvement in PCars will make it something very much in tune what sim racers actually want. What I am very sure of is that it won't be comparable with Shift 2 at all.

Once the PS4 becomes worth buying(if it does), I will then buy GT7. Which is a shame because I expected it to be the primary reason for me to buy one in the first place. :indiff:

There are some games coming out for PS4 that I think will make the console worth buying (Watchdogs, Uncharted 4, next Mass Effect etc). At the moment though it isn't worth it.

If GT7 comes out before those games I don't think it'll be reason alone to get a brand new console just to play it. A shame really because if it hadn't been for GT6 I may have thought otherwise.

...I bought a ps3 just to play GT5 when it came out....

I bought it basically because of all the hype....omg the "legendary GRAN TURISMO...

The point of this poll exactly 👍. I'm interested in how GT6 has effected this.

Yes, if they add wheel offset settings, better rear spoilers, all 'premium' cars and the BMW E36 (preferably the sport touring vers)

Currently have no interest in a PS4, no groundbreaking games out yet so no GT7 for me. Probably wouldn't buy it anyway, just another waste of money for me I can't afford.

I was honestly expecting more "no" votes. It seems there is still some faith after all, at least for the time being. Interesting.

After reading the comments here it would seem GT may no longer have the power to encourage someone to get a new console anymore.

There's a lot of momentum from the GT fanbase even from the most disgruntled players. I think it's because most of us can see the potential for greatness it still has if they make some common sense decisions regarding GT7 game design. It'll probably never be a hardcore simulator nor does it have to be, but it certainly must incorporate some of those elements if the franchise is going to move forward.

I must say, GT6, as fun as it is, feels empty. Until they get their crap together and listen to feedback some more, I'll wait for reviews this time around. Had GT7 be for PS3, that would be a different story.

On this, a dedicated forum for GT there will always be a large number of die hard fans that would pre-order GT21 tomorrow given the opportunity, put down a 50% deposit and wait patiently for it's release in 2054 with no info about it until 2047. Fortunately for the future of the game those people are the minority and the general public are much harder to sway, as GT6 sales seem to show.

"wait patiently for it's release in 2054 with no info about it until 2047." Around about my 6th month of playing GT4 I'd probably have been one of those people.

I think 6 has still had an effect on many of that kind of person though.

I voted pre-order. But there should be an option for "Will preorder when there is information about it."
The reason I didn't put that option is because I want the results to reflect whether or not GT6 has knocked that confidence people have to pre order regardless of information about it. (See Samus' post above yours)

You're right though, it's a valid option and many will do the same I think, but some won't take PD's word for it.

After the debacle called GT6, I will wait until well after the release and after I have read reviews on the game. I am not going to pay to be a beta tester again, I'll leave that up to the fanboys that buy on release day.

Not so much that I have lost loyalty, but, I'm not dropping $460 For a PS4 and 7, until I know what I'm getting back.

I will only buy it if the sounds are properly fixed. So I voted no, because that is never going to happen.
I feel your pain, but for the sake of a series I've grown up with loving, I really hope you're wrong. It's tough to love the sound of a hoover...sorry, vacuum cleaner.

I bought the PS3 for GT5, which was a let down. Now they managed to make GT5 look like a fantastic game by making GT6 far worse than it should have been. I hate to say it, but I lost faith in Kaz and GT. They keep making promises they can't make come true. I hope I'm wrong and GT7 is a blast of a game, but for now I'm not going to get my hopes up to be disappointed again.

I predict gt6 will be abandoned and pd will rush out gt7 to try and get some sales before drive club etc gets released. I've got ps4 but can't see pd making a game worthy of it.
All that makes gt is the handling and as soon as another developer gets that right on a console pd are as good as finished imo.Hope I'm wrong but the signs are there.

I think drive club 2 will probably be out before gt 7 lol.

After GT5, future GT games were not guaranteed buys for me. Like GT6, I will wait for the reviews to make a decision. If it is a good game, I will buy it. That said, I have little to no faith that core gameplay issues will be resolved for GT7.

This generation I will be spending my money more wisely, and will only be buying games on launch from franchises that have reputable review scores- reason being due to next-gen tax over here in Blighty. So GT6 has become a franchise where I'll "wait and see", due to PD's blatant disregard for us as consumers who bought their game under the promise that features would arrive regularly- which hasn't happened. So I'll just wait and read reviews and hear you guys' opinions from here on in.

I'll be pre-ordering, but only because they normally give something special to pre-orders. If they don't, I'll be buying it after release. Definitely getting it, on graphics alone I'd buy it.

It mainly hinges on PD/Sony's communication with us and the AI's capability to race for me now. I can live with most other things if these are addressed.

The bulk of my play is offline so a very important factor in a game is the career or story mode. If the reviews indicate this hasn't been addressed then it's going to take something seriously special to make me buy it.

I know it's a driving sim first and foremost but why have races in career mode if they're just parade laps with just you trying to get past to get into first. That isn't a race, it's an obstacle course. This chase the rabbit thing is unacceptable now.

It would be better to get rid of the race cars, just have production cars and build a game around concourse, staggered time trial events, like the Grand Tour thing in GT5, and Autotests than it would be to stick with the current races and AI, in my opinion. I'd pre-order that!

If we are going to have races in GT7 then the AI should be capable of overtaking and defending. The AI need to be faster too and we need qualifying sessions. VBR's recent thread/suggestion regarding the AI matching the players average lap time in qualifying is a fantastic one and would be a very welcome option.

If I heard something about this from PD then I'd probably be willing to pre-order it again.

YOU HEAR THAT PD? IF YOU TALK TO US SOME OF US MIGHT CHANGE OUR MINDS!

I'll probably wait and see how people like the game. Unless, if there is something absolutely amazing, then I might go for a pre order.
