Will You Buy GT7?

I'll wait to see what's actually in the game a couple months after release, before making a decision on purchasing GT7, or even a PS4 for that matter. I got a PS3 and G25 for GT5P without knowing what would be in GT5, or when it would be released. Was hyped by PD's mostly empty promises. Not making that mistake again.

The people who voted to pre order the game without knowing a thing about the game are the reason PD can deliver a half assed game. Why work hard when people will pay full price for your unfinished product:tup:
I wouldn't say the reason, but they are definitely a contributing factor. As you say, you don't have to set the bar very high when you know you've sold a significant amount of copies before it's even released.

Not even a reason ... they knew already that the game wouldn't be finished in time ... so pre-orders don't effect that process... the only thing that's tackled with pre-orders is the number of copies available at launch (retailers just hate to be unable to sell you your requested product ... they just wanna sell as much as possible ... and this is the right tool for that .... ) .... sure it gives an indication but it will never be the or a reason to deliver an incomplete product.

True. And I think the majority of the game would usually be finished before the availability of being able to pre order.

However, if they had enough pre orders and the demand for the game was high enough, they may choose to release the game slightly earlier than intended and attempt to "polish it off" with updates instead of just waiting a little longer to release the "polished" version.

This could happen seeing as the PS4 may be without a driving sim for some time. Project Cars may take some of the demand for GT away but they may be different enough to warrant a high demand for both games. Plus PD now have precedent in releasing an unfinished product with the intention of adding to it later.

If GT6 is any indication, those days are over. GT6 pre-orders were way down relative to GT5 and sales are also way way, down accordingly. I'm sure GT7 pre-orders will be better than GT6 but I think for the first time, GT7 will have to make it on it's merits after release. GT5/6 have done some damage to PD's stellar reputation in the marketplace and they can get it back in GT7, but I think a revamp of the gameplay from the ground up is necessary. Rehashing the same old tired career mode and crappy AI won't cut it for GT7.

I'll wait for the reviews and especially what GTP has to say. But no next ten title is going to be an automatic purchase as I need to invest in new hardware. Actually, as I see it now, I will most likely switch to PC sims. PC offers a broader selection of sims and I also have a feeling that the PCars PC version (I am really looking forward to it) will be better than the PS4 version.
That is my thinking too :)

If I get a PS4, I will probably just buy Project CARS until at least a year after GT7 comes out and I see what all you crazies are saying about it.

It would depend on if they finish GT6. If the missing features are added, then possibly if one day I can afford a PS4. Well, actually if I could afford it, then it'd be yes. If they indeed decide not to add the promised features to GT6, then a guaranteed no. I'm not going to support a company with no integrity, same reason I won't buy Pcars and don't watch ISR or support anything Darin Gangi is involved in. Integrity still means something to us old guys. lol.

Considering from what I've seen this is a factor for many people, if possible it might be a legit thing to add to the poll.

IE: Only if they finish GT6.

I wont' be purshuseing PS4 or GT7, just not worth it. I allready own a PS2 with GT3,GT4. PS3 with GT5 and 6. Im really satisfied with PS3 and it's capabilites. Dish out 400+$ for console and another 60+ for game to experiance the same thing all over again, just not worth it for me. GT5 sim and graphics are far superior Im satisfied with them.

Well it`s hard to say if I will buy GT7...Because...When GT5 released, it was the most faulty game ever seen...The servers, the loading times, the exit times etc etc etc...Then they came with GT6....One would think that all the faults and shortcomings of GT5 would be solved....Instead GT6 BEAT the GT5 error&fault record completely....Almost everything that was good about GT5 has turned baaaad in GT6, and all the faults and glitches of GT5 are still there, or even worse, and 100s of new, almost unbelieveable faults has occured on GT6...So GT6 has proven itself as a joke....There is absolutely no reason to believe that GT7 on ps4 will not be faulty and glitchy...IT WILL...It will set a new record of faults...

But will I buy it??? My BRAIN says NO WAY...But...I might buy it nevertheless....meeeh :dunce:

Of course I will pre-order GT-7. Yes previous versions have their issues. But I still enjoy what it has to offer and have no regrets. I have already purchased a PS4 and look forward to using it for the next generation of GT racing!

I won't pre-order. But with the lack of any other racing games on consoles at the moment I'm sure I'll get it in the end...

As long as a few areas are improved and some basic key features are added, Ill buy it.

I mean GT5 and GT6 have hit rock bottom it cant get any worse

Ummm, PCars....
I was just going to say..

Project Cars, possibly Drive Club and even The Crew will most likely be out before GT7. There will be options. They may not all come out at once though; no matter how confident I may be in my product, I would be reluctant to release it at the same time as such strong competition. But I imagine they'll be out before GT7 none the less. Which is why it better be bloody good.

Don't forget the recently announced Grid Autosport. Graphics and physics won't be up to par with GT6, but it looks like they are making a real effort to provide solid gameplay and and offline. And its on PS3.

Didn't mention it because I wasn't sure about a release date for it. I haven't really read up or heard much about it other than the general rumblings of opinion. But yeah, that too for sure.

So basically, with all the options there will be, pre ordering GT7 is even more of a gamble than it would be otherwise.

June 27th is the date for Europe I think. So not particularly far away.

I need to start saving some pennies for a PS4 from the sounds of things. I intended to wait for the price to drop but it'll be difficult to resist the temptation to get one with these new alternatives to Gran Turismo coming out.

On a side note; why is "Gran Turismo" spell checked on this, of all websites?

It will be a PS3 release as far as I know. So I will be definitely looking into it.
