So its really just open to those who are useful with photoshop. Darn thats a bit of a shame. :guilty:

well, im pathetic! im just giving it ago, maybe my opponent would kindly agree not to use photoshop, except for brightness etc.

unless im mistaken, the rules are limited to croping, brightness/contrast, resizing, and using the clone tool to remove the watermark stamp (the regular pmc) unless agreed on by both competitors?

erm, what hapens if one guy says: sorry i cant use photoshop at all, the other guy says, well i want to use it, and i am using it?

Unfortunately it looks that way. But then that seems to be what people want. I didn't see an option for the ones that don't have or don't want to use PS or whatever other kind of software to manip their photos. So we add yet another PS competition. Good idea Treefingers but, it seems to me that if we keep adding competitions nobody will have time to "play" the game. :D

So far we have these:

Photomode Competition (with a little bit of PS)
Advanced Photomode Competition (with a medium dose of PS)
Photomode/Photoshop Competition (with "the sky's the limit" PS)
Manufacturer's Photomode Competition (with same rules as Advanced)
Rally Photomode Competition (no PS, cropping only)
Drift Competition (not sure how much PS is allowed)

And now:
Photomode Tournament (depends on who you go against for amount of PS)

All these competitions (except one) favor the same dozen or so that are proficient at PS and the rest of them are left to be the "also rans". So before anyone can even come close to winning, they'll need to practice their PS skills and even then, they'll be behind that dozen or so that have been practicing for months or even years for some. Don't take this the wrong way but, seems kinda one sided to me.

Like I said, this is a good idea for those that wish to have another PS competition to enter. It seems well structured, organized and I know Treefingers will do a good job running it. 👍 I just hope that it doesn't get into a "pi**ing" match about a user being paired up with another who is better at PS than the first. I can see some users complaining that they got paired up with someone that's better at PS than they are.

I personally think that you should be able to enter any sort of picture you want according to your ability. A good picture is a good picture no matter what you do to it - anyone will tell you that. I will admit that PS (or any other editing program) can dramatically change a pictures look, but you have to start with a great image As its been quoted previously - you can't polish a turd.

The amount of photoshop will be the same as the main Photomode Competition, which hasnt been a problem for anyone. There are other programs out there, that plenty of other people also use, that allow you to do the same things as photoshop, within those rules. You dont have to use advanced photoshop. Thats just an added option.

If both people agree to not use any photoshop, thats fine, but basic photshop will be allowed otherwise.

lol, the fomfTx rides again.
I dont think that completely taking away photoshop will make this tournament any better. Whats the point of penalizing the people who have practiced makeing their photos look life-like with ps, and bringing down the quality of their photos, just to take it easy on the new guys, that just became members yesterday? When i was new to this site, i saw what people were doing and i wanted to learn how to do it to. I didnt just sit there and wish that it was more fair to me because i was new, and i wasnt as good.
And why are you concerned about complaints about this tournament? If you're not happy with it, why do you care?
End chapter 1.

HaHa, funny....

Entry, yes I would like to enter.
2.0 PS rules would be nice.

Possible theme: Your first car. The very first car you bought in GT4, when you first cracked open Career mode. If you have gotten rid of it, than just buy it back.👍

If you'll go back and re-read what I posted, you'll notice that I was being silly about it by putting a "smiley" behind it.. Of course this will make it more fun. I never said it wouldn't.

I understand that how much PS you use is optional. I read the rules. I wasn't faulting this or any other competition for using PS. All the competitions have been widely accepted as they are.

I NEVER said anything about taking away PS. I merely pointed out that there are no provisions for the "new guys" or the ones that don't want to or can't use PS.

I also NEVER said anything about not being happy with it. If it's your thing than do it. If you'll go back and re-read what I wrote I told you that I thought it was a GOOD idea. And I even complimented you that you'd do good at being the one who runs it. I just thought that I'd bring out some complaints that you may or may not have thought about. No biggie.

I didn't think I was being rude or complaining or even being insulting. If I was I apologize.

You werent being rude or insulting. I think i was sort of turning it into a joke by taking it a little to far. No need to apologize. 👍

Something to think about; I know the matches will be random, but how about sorting them into two random pots; have all the names who want regular PMC rules in one, and those who want Advanced in the other. That way we have matches were both people are sticking to the same rules, to avoid this type of complaining.

In addition, maybe have "No PS" as an option beside PMC and 2.0. I'm personally happy with what we have, but if that appeals to a wider audience, than there you go.

I've thought about doing it that way, but it might complicate things a bit more in some ways. If its easy to do it that way, i probably will, but it will all depend on how many entries we have.
Like i said earlier, using no ps is fine, if two people agree on it. I guess i didnt think that would be necessary to add it to the options, because i didnt think there would be that many that would want no ps. I guess i need to go ahead and add it.

New option for photoshop: NO PS
If you've already entered and want to change to NO PS, please go back and edit your original post.
