Back to the turbo issue, there is another workaround, slightly less painful perhaps - it turns out that it's not actually selecting the affected car in itself that triggers the issue, but highlighting a specific different car (or cars) as you navigate to it! I know this is weird, but bear with me ... the following are instructions from QA for the affected cars. Essentially it means changing the vehicle filter to "group by classes", before attempting to select the car in question. Following this method means you can select the problem cars "normally", without having to restart the game.
Porsche DLC:
Porsche 959 - Select Via Class E
Porsche 935/78 - Select Via Group 5
Porsche 935/78-81 - Select Via Group 5
Fun Pack DLC:
Audi Sport S1 quattro - Select Via Group B... apologies again, I know this is messy, but I want to be transparent about it so that some time and frustration can be saved, ahead of the next update.
(If somebody could confirm this works for them, I'd appreciate it.)
Weren't people saying it's also affecting the 908/3?
That's what I thought. Yea it's a fun little beastIt doesn't have a turbo so I would presume it can't be affected by the turbo bug which afflicts the 959 and 935. I've driven the 908 a few times so far as it's my favourite from the pack and not had any problems with it.
Workaround for those having issues with turbo on the DLC cars on consoles:
Porsche 911 RSR sound comparison.
I wonder why its soooo hard to get the engine sound / noise right in a game. The RSR just sounds wrong in both GTS and PC2. AC and Forza 7 are way ahead IMO. Still, after all the graphical and technological progress we have seen in the last couple of years, the sound remains an issue in too many racing games.
Do any of the cars sound realistic in cockpit cam? Or replay cam? What I don't understand is that they came out and admitted that they messed up on that one. Ok but did that problem show up in testing and they just had to push it out as to not hold up the rest of the pack and we'll fix it later on down the road in a patch? Or did it sound ok in testing and development and something somewhere happened with the release that messed it up so it actually was a surprise that it is broken?

They need the guy that did sound capture and editing for this videoWow... 911 RSR sounds like garbage. I was highly considering the DLC but I'm gonna hold off now. That engine sound is just plain annoying, there's no depth oncesoever just a loud whine that sounds nothing remotely similar to the real car.

It does seem to be another car that is a little more sensitive than necessary. I had figured SMS was working their way through the car list fixing that.I struggle to keep the Carrera GT in a straight line. It's not like I'm losing the rear every second, but the steering feels very unstable at high speeds. For example, I can drive it full throttle down the Mulsanne in 5th gear, but all I feel is floaty instability at the slightest steering input. My gamepad settings are for the most part fine when driving other cars in the game, so I'm not sure what's wrong here.
Another thing, is the Carrera GT fast enough? To me it feels a little slow and sluggish for a 2004 super / hyper car, but maybe I'm wrong.
Read on the forum they already improved the sound, coming in a patch soon.
Reminded me ofPlease no, if that video capture or editing is "good", then I'm sorry..
