So you probably know that I wrote an e-mail to Porsche some time ago, asking why they don't appear in Gran Turismo 5. Much to my surprise, I actually received an answer today:
That's great, it's a shame i missed this post earlier. I might be crazy, but judging by the wording what doesn't make sense today and can't be revelead might suggest that they are in but can't say anything at the moment.
Porsche can't be this crazy, they know that it would be better for them to appear on the right game. NFS has made a mockery out of Porsche in some recent Underground themed games, and to be honest, it's only 2 or 3 models on each NFS iteration.
It's like they paid big money for exclusivity but they are not using it. Why is it cool for EA to let their rivals Forza get the license and not GT? shouldn't be the same rules for other competitors?
To me nothing explains more the situation than the fact that somebody in the middle of this PR thing didn't want to conceive (pride, money, something). It's looks more and more that their absense is silly, something that other people taking care on both sides would already figured out.

McLaren's post about GTR license is a good one. If you can get the cars somehow directly through FIA, then this WOULD BE great. If this was the case, then some of the most important Porsches could be in it (like the Fina McLaren was on GT4).
It's a shame PR responses are always so evasive. Still, congratulations on the effort, it's already miles better than anything gaming websites/magazines ever did.
Maybe their second response can help us a bit more.
