Dear Sir,

Licensing the Porsche brand to Polyphony Digital's Gran Turismo 5 video game franchise is a fantastic opportunity not only for Porsche, but also for car and Porsche enthusiasts to experience the next best thing to owning one.

By licensing, you will be able to promote to adults and children:-

* The Porsche brand.
* A variety of vehicles on offer by Porsche.
* The handling, sound, look, texture and build quality of each & every car.

This opportunity can not only help Porsche to sell more vehicles (a clear motivator) but to also make more people aware of the vehicles on offer. Mercedes, Ferrari, Citroen have all liaised and worked with Kazunori Yamauchi at Polyphony Digital to bring their cars to the Gran Turismo franchise. Not everyone can own a Porsche, but there are millions of people who would love to own a Porsche. Someone has to win the lottery - and when they do - would you want them to buy a Ferrari?

You have a responsibility to make people want to buy Porsche. Licensing exclusively with Electronic Arts and the 'Need for Speed' franchise might at first appear to be a fantastic proposition and financially lucrative, but the truth of the matter is that everyone knows Gran Turismo. The Gran Turismo franchise has sold over 50 Million copies worldwide, featured on TV shows such as "Top Gear" and the latest installment of GT seeks to promote car magazines and TV programmes via "Gran Turismo TV".

Review your agreements for exclusivity. Sign with Polyphony Digital and bring the joy of driving a Porsche to millions of people.

Sincerely,
Lord Von PS3.

Well-written e-mail sir. I will be sending my 2 cents to The Man shortly.

Fine. You guys all drive Porsches in GT5, and I'll blast past you in my GT-R. :sly:

There have been RUF cars in previous episodes of the game, and it is said that there will be 1000+ cars in the game, so I think that the game will host a number of RUF cars.

Then your drivetrain will inexplicably explode, then they'll roar past in their Porsches, then snap oversteer into a tree, while I'll fly past in my Corvette, and during the trip home, I'll fall into a deep depression about the terrible interior.

None the less, I still want a normal Carrera S.

I will spin out due the horrible handling traits and watch it burn in fire that will destroy the crappy GM interior.

Fixed for the truth. :D *cough*

well, if they will get Porsche, I will be happy if they include 911 SC-RS.. come to papa, pretty one..

That might be the best argument you got there

He thinks there will not be a Porsche in the game. They're re-branded as RUFs.

Ah,couldn't tell if he was saying he wanted no Porsches or if he was saying there would not be any. Also as Stew2000 points out, Rufs aren't rebranded Porsches. They are unique cars constructed on supplied & unmarked Porsche chassis.

I want that CTR3!!!

EDIT: i removed the image tags because that pic is huge.

On another note, i have a theory.

If EA is blocking PD and only PD, they are abusing their market position. The fact they have allowed Turn10 access to a license, and not PD is abuse of their market position and a breach of EU competition laws.

Anyone who reads the news knows that Microsoft and Intel have both been fined in the past for abusing their market postion by the EU.

Someone should send an e-mail to the EU to ask them to investigate this matter. This very well could result in PD being able to include Porsche. But sadly only in their PAL release... :(

Although it borders with copyright law, if EA are found to have refused a licensing deal to PD purely because they could gain a market advantage over EA, this is breach of EU competition law.

Personally, the only "but" to this game is the absence of Porsches (are Rufs but not the same). Historically, Porsche has been one of the greatest winner cars in many tracks, events and years (examples Porsches 908, 917, 956, 962, et.). I hope that in a future in GT game versions, Porsche finally will be included, if possible.

Regards,

EA...pfff...C***Blockers.
Wouldn't surprise me though, ive heard crazier conspiracy(theories) that turned out true.

However for PD to incorporate Porsche "proper like" they'd need to include 50's, 70's, 80's and 2k's Cars.

You are absolutelly right it will be a pitty if Porsche couldn't make it to GT5.. Porsche is one of the best Manufactures on the world and it isn't the same like RUF. Ruf is just a company that makes tune-ups to Porsches. If Porsche can't make it to GT5 i would prefer to see Gemballa instead of RUF.
For example a Mirage GT! My favorite Supercar!! It is just...AWESOME!!!!

watch this and put your speakers loud!!
