No chance Porsche will be in the game. If it were i would love to see the GT3RS but it really won't. I dont really like the ruf cars. They do accelerate beautifuly but i cant seem to make them handle from what i remember. I dont own any ruf cars on any of my GT games.

To be honest I think Porsche is one of the dumest car companies to have sold themselves to EA, and they don't deserve to be in "The Real Driving Simulator".

They do deserve to be in, because they at least can complete the Le Mans grid.Correct me if i'm wrong, but aren't RUFs built for straight line acceleration & top speed ?.

This is one of the reasons why it's good this thread is still open... gather all the nonsense and Porsche hate in one place..

You could say that... but so are most modifications to any car because it's what people look for in a modded car. But that's not all. RUF made a few very good cars with good handling or at least not ruining it, and that's very easy do that to a 911 (the most used).

I was just in the process of reporting this thread just to at least get a response from the mods, but then I realized something. We could just wait til GT5 comes out, and this thread will die it's unavoidable death.

The mods have responded before you asked... His name is Dan, he is wise, the force is strong with him :)

Search the thread and the truth you'll find.

/end yet another lame yoda impersonation

No, but by BMW supplying the engine they became a factory team. This is why they have the license to that one car. Notice how there has only been that one McLaren and no others, it's because all the other McLaren teams were privateer teams and have no rights over the car.

BMW became a factory team because they bought several F1 GTRs from McLaren & issued them under BMW Motorsport. The biggest reason as to why BMW got their car in GT4 was because after receiving the cars, BMW Motorsport then further developed the GTRs with their own tech in collaboration with McLaren. Due so, BMW Motorsport became the soul owner of chassis #17R, #18R, & #26R (the one in-game).

-> I replied on the CES Motor Trend thread...

-> Hmm...

KY = 'No Porsche's in this edition'.

-> That could mean a lot; it is not a definite 'NO' answer in my opinion. I've been wondering for the past few day ever since. 💡

- Edition would also mean that there are no Porsche's on the CES '10 demo. :sly:
- Another thing that KY didn't mention was, 'No Porsche's in GT5, end of story'. :)
- Licensing issues may be relating that it isn't March yet.
- And there will be no Porsche announcement until March 2010.

;)
^ So its not a definite answer...yet. :nervous:

~> And I'm already pessimistic-mode! :scared:

hmm, EA bankruptcy? Wasn't the problem EA wanting too much for porsche license? maybe they lowered their demand and sony scooped it up.

After the second "No" to the Porsche question, I believe it's final: it will not be included in GT5. And that's ok for me, but I do hope it makes it in GT6.

Now, I really hope RUF has the CTR3 snd RT-12 in it, or else I'd be mad. Those are very formidable cars that can go up against its Porsche counterparts.

^^ I guess that is possible Dave, who knows. This might be the reason GT5 is delayed.I don't want to lose the NFS series, that's like an end of the life of NFS.

^ EA ruined NFS from themselves. I don't know who swayed their original ideas (primal exotic car arcade series), to a dissapointment (F&F wannabe, to GTR wannabe). :indiff:

-> I hope EA learned their lessons, but hopefully they should 'relax' on holding the Porsche license.

I like how you incorporated my name. I feel like we're family now!:sly:

Prostreet isn't a bad game it's quite good, just the rolling ( crash physics ) cars is naff that's all. You've got drag, drift & circuit racing which equals fun.Overall EA didn't make a mistake here, where they did was with Underground 1/2.If Undercover had been in dev for longer & could use cop cars that would have helped popularity a bit.

^^ Huggs:P:D.

This is all I need.

 I'm afraid that when GT5 comes out, this whole site will die a death. Everyone will be on PS3!!

Didn't come in here to add fuel to the fire anyway, and before I start let me begin by saying that i'm ignorant to the whole situation because i'm not a massive porsche fan. But...

Does anyone have confirmation of porches licence being renewed with anyone? I've heard the current contract puts them on the free market in march?
And after the news of pretty much all other prestige car companies inclusion, wouldn't porsche have been pretty damn stupid to have missed out?
Also, if there has, and i'm not saying there has, been some kind of shady hand shakes going on at Sony, wouldn't Kaz be stupid as to respond with anything but a firm no until the current contract has expired!?

I read in an interview that there are cars still being modelled even now, and i've heard many contradictions from sony employees about the total car content over the last few show reports. Either someone isn't getting their facts to representatives properly, or there is something being hidden, or considered, or maybe even kept for a suprise. Whatever it is i'll be happy to finally play GT5. Porsche or no, there will be plenty! of other cars to drive!

RUF Dakara

^ A good competition to the upcoming Tesla Roadster. :)

Are there any good looking RUFs?

Yes, go back one page and look what I posted. Or look at this (it's a Porsche Carrera GT chasis re-done uniquely by RUF):

Again, the powerful CTR3
rufctr3rear.jpg

CTR3 technical data
Performance
Max speed 232.5 miles/h (375 km/h)
0-100 km/h 3.2 seconds

Power 515 kw (691hp / 700 ps)
0-200 km/h 9.6 seconds

(Replying to the bolded portion at the top)
Not going to happen at all. When GT5 hits, everyone is going to pop in to share their experiences (and complain), form teams, discuss tuning options, ask how to pass this or that license, etcetera, etcetera, etcetera...

I've been reading here, off and on, for years (like many) and the chatter goes well beyond rumors, release thoughts and whatnot. And don't forget about the new ideas of a GT6 and the PS4 that will inevitably begin, not to mention expected DLC for GT5.

It actually "comes from" (shares very little basically) a 997 Turbo with the front being based on a 997 GT3 shell. Other than that, it's near-completely all Ruf designed/made.

But still RUF is a Porsche imitation and it does not carry the legendary Porsche logo, sigh... oh well at least we still have 1000 cars hehehe!
