This happens to be my 'new' favourite out of the all the standards in my garage. It even looks good on a rainy, wet and grey Nurburgring.
Some of the standard models are a bit of a let down in the final looks department.. don't get me started on the new VW Beetle :yuck: a polygonal disaster. But a few little gems are in there to make up for it like this divine looking beauty, couldn't find any bad angles on this... either on a modelling or viewpoint perspective. I'm sure people have their 'favourites' and are likely and/or welcome to disagree with my choice. These are from a selection that I'm having a go at for a PMC running currently.

One thing i've noticed with the standards, from grrlpurple's excellent shots too, is that PD often seem to skimp on the resolution of the registration plate, even if the rest of the car looks really good. When I start to play with photomode I think I might dust off Photoshop, but only to sharpen those letters and numbers a little if I can :)

Great shots all round though, and you're right, the Karmann Ghia doesn't have a best side, ALL its sides look good 👍

Appreciate your comments Tyger: :)

I do agree with your observations about the 'standards'. Some of the models depicting a lot of livery with sponsors and logos suffer from the low res finish to them.
Emblems on the bonnet (hood) and boot (trunk) fall prey to this as well sometimes, you really notice it when you fire up the game and your current car is dropped into one of the randomly generated PhotoTravel locations running in the background of the start menu.

:sly: Gonna keep my eye out for few more rough diamonds in the UCD 👍

Just a short post to preview a taster of my first stab at the HDR techniques that others have seemed to have mastered. A long way to go to reach the results of some on these forums and it seems to take a knack of knowing how much to tweak before you go to far but after a few mini disasters I think this is close to what I'm striving for. More in the pipeline so hope to put a larger update in fairly soon.

Seems like an age since I put anything up on the gallery so aim to put that right today. Been caught up in the wave of competitons and have been sucessful once leading to being "guest" judge for a week along with getting into the polling stage of all the comps I entered last week ( 4 outta 4 ...woo hoo. ) and 3 of 3 this week.

Gonna chuck in some of the shots I made along the way onto this update and updates to come with some I decided not to enter along with the final selections.

Drifting

F1 time

and messing about on PShop

Its a lot I know but its been so long and I got a load more to add when I get the time..... who knows when that will be?

Comments good and bad welcome :):nervous:

Thanks Grand Prix :) ... that came around 3rd in the final poll but it was up against some exceptional competition. I think PD have excelled themselves with the attention to detail on some of the locations... getting in the right place at the right time seems to do the trick :sly:.

Lots of nice pictures there.

I voted for that one, too. Nice collections you have here. Looking forward to your next update 👍

Cheers guys, really appreciate the comments :)... haven't been around the 'gallery' forum for quite some time and I'm looking forward to taking the time to check out all your latest updates along with some of the others.

Thanks a lot jgda9rs: I believe the Element just turned up on the UCD one day, the one and only time I've seen it (SUV's seem to do that)...... I tend to buy cars that rarely show up wether I like them or not. A bit of a hoarder I am :sly:.

A couple of HDR Photos. Full size versions really justify these.

Working on some more, a bit time intensive though.

Really like the first one, the second one is a bit too extreme for my taste but it appears that you were going for a extreme surreal look. Are you using Photomatix for these? If so I can give you some presets and tips.

Extreme photos there

Extremely nice HDR shots there.

Cool, I can hardly tell the first is HDR, which is good. 👍

Thank you guys :) means a lot to me that you like them 👍

Cheers c_f.... The extreme look was admittedly deliberate, went for a punchy in yer face kinda result and always knew it would be a love it/hate it sorta thing.... am definitely going for more subtle finishes like the first one (which happens to be the latest) more now. Just using the standard Photoshop method at present.... looking at possibly getting Photomatix cos it appears to be more user friendly.

really nice indeed. i love the mclaren shot too. it could use a bit of tire shine, but whatever. good job.

I thought the McClaren would appeal to someone, tyres do look as though they've been on a dirt track recently lol.... keeping it real :sly:.
I happen to like how this process has brought out the anti-glare tint on the windscreen. Nice touch by PD.

A few "Hard light" images inspired by my GT Photoshop/Photomode competition entry.

And my competition entry.

More to follow :sly:
