As for mounting points, does not change the geometry of the mounting... you can do the physics behind it.

As you can see,i was able to mount it on C pillar, but i didn't intensionally.
I know it's better if the angle is bigger, but i actually don't know anyone that actually had problems with this kind of mounting.
People drive hill climb with this kind of mounting (or cage mounting on this position if it's proper 4 point with 4 actual points on the ends, that's why i refer this one as a 3 point belt, not that hard to understand)

Sorry, I must be mistaken in assuming those snow tires have tons of dry grip. Or that the Yugo has profoundly well designed suspension from the factory. And brakes. My bad.

First of all, they aren't snow tires but that's not so important after all.
Second,who said suspension is stock?
Although i should recommend you to try a yugo with properly lowered suspension,PA6/Aluminum bushings/mounts,florida trailing arms and sleds.
Only thing better on that cars are coilovers on the back, but not necessary for good handling.

Here you go,these are almost stock cars, slightly stiffened and lowered with street tires on very old tarmac.

Further, if you roll it, your body wouldn't lean out of the way of the roof as it gets pushed in...
Although this could actually happen, factory seatbelts and seats are designed to hold your body upright in front of the airbag and in the seat. If your body moves out of the way in the event of a rollover, then the seatbelt hasn't done it's job. Sport Compact Car actually researched this and spoke with a few safety engineers and confirmed that this was a myth.

Otherwise what you said what correct.👍

That actually looks like alot of fun no matter what type of car you're driving.
I never would've thought that the Yugo would ever be raced like that but it's nice to see someone taking this platform and actually having fun with it.👍

They never did develop the 4 door version the Yugo and if they ever would have done something like this, they'd have called it the Wego.

But seriously, have fun with your Yugo, and never mind the naysayers that see it as a utilitarian ride that most purchased this car to do.
I hear the same thing driving a Cavalier so am quite familiar with the people ragging on the car saying it will never serve the purpose of a track car.
So far, like you, I'm proving them wrong.
Enjoy the ride man and keep us up to date with it. :)

Well, you can do lot of stuff with that platform, this one is well prepared car.

The 4 point cracks me up...Mostly because with the way you have that in there it is more dangerous than the stock belt. Mounting to a lower point behind the driver versus a cage increases the risk of spinal compression if you are in an accident..
Mounting to the rear seat belt locations on the floor of the car is perfectly acceptable. As long as it's not more than a 45 degree angle from the floor of the car.

Though I'm new to the idea of both shoulder belts merging into one. Seems like a recipe for strangulation. I assume the headrest rods will keep the two belts from cinching together during deceleration?

5th Gen 97 Prelude Si

:D It's not much.. but it's mine... Any ideas of what I should do to it?

Frist off, stop by the Honda thread and revive it with an introduction. Its always good to see another Prelude owner on this site. 👍

As for what you should do to it...how much money do you have? Just hand over the credit card info and I'll have parts flying at your door in about a week or two.

Na I just don't have any and I like it better without trim rings.

You should find some, put them on and then meet me at the St Thomas drag way this summer so I can blow them off when I pass you in the quarter mile. :sly:

Made few adjustment, installed sprint filter, sparco sprint junior and so on...

Pretty cool stuff.
I never thought I'd see a tuner Yugo, ever.
It's great to see this although there's some haters out there with this but I think it's ballin.
Way to go and have some fun with your ride man. That's what it's all about in my book. :D

Hah tuner,it's just my ride till February 3rd 'till the MOT is valid.
I may trash it after that,or build it full, dunno actually.
But i'm having fun indeed :D

+1. A tuner Yugo is the sort of thing that shouldn't exist, but you've decided to make it. Noice.

They are pretty common in Croatia,Serbia and Bosnia :)

Haha. Funny. Although true. Need a 5spd swap a positive displacement supercharger bad haha.

Well since the pictures I posted a few things have been done... new paint job (yeah black again) and bodywork done to it. New headlamps/foglamps, tailights replaced with stock ones not the clear ones (:yuck: ). Next on the list as you can probably see the right tailpipe is hanging. I plan to get that remounted and replace the two tailpipes with new chrome ones, same style though. Eventually get new rims once I need new tires which will be awhile.

Here's a sloppy video of stock Yugo 55 (with Weber DMTR 32/32 as only modification )acceleration with long 17/64 differential
It would be quicker if i installed 13/53 differential and short shifter, but it will wait for a while,i'm just driving 'till the MOT is valid.

Not sure why, but I felt the need to take pictures today.

Blazer and 240

I'm 0% Finnish :guilty:, but we bought it in Calumet during the rally so it all ties together .

Yes, the fisheye is fun, but that's actually a wide angle lens, but it pretty much has the same effect just not as round and disfigured.

a112, I love you, no homo :) please add some berg cup flava or some lowzzz for me :)

Oh, I have a new addition to the fleet.. A mondeo mk1 I think it is, a white estate which I have no use for.. And possibly a couple of more cars soon :)

The car will be redone in the next few months for next MOT.
I was first thinking of all clean outside with tons of new exterior parts like bumpers, lights etc.

But I'm probably aiming for all go no show, matte red color outside and minimalism inside with good mechanics.
Dunno about the wheels,if I can get two more OZ 5.5x13 4 spoke,it will be that.
Or maybe ATS Classic 6x13.
Aiming for light wheels for starters, maybe one set of 8x13 banded steels for fun.
