And I need to sort out the front lip.

Looks a bit better..

So, I did a website for a friend. He traded up for an E36 M3 Convertible, so he gave me his old car as payment.

1993 BMW 525iSE Touring
It's been converted to dual fuel so it will run on LPG/Autogas too... sweet.. got 182 miles on a £16 of gas :D.. thats the equivalent of 61 mpg if it were petrol (UK) :D

It also has a 42 sticker :)

I took if for a drive in the countryside, then gave it a wash... some pics:

The tractor makes a comeback in its current guise. Screw lowering, it's that high and the underside engine cover scraped the snow once this winter.

Good work. Not been to Knockhill for years. Maybe 95 when I was last there. Keep thinking about it but other stuff gets in the way (Spa 6 hours is using all my spare funds this year).

More proof, if you'll be so kind.

Like a shot of the car with a sign saying "Hi GTP, From JohnnyGT" or something. I'm not saying you don't drive it or anything, just that we get those people.

+1 for autocross!

Got a few new pics...

I love the 300ZX. I’m pretty confident it will be my next sports car in the garage. I’ll probably be getting the non-turbo version though. I’ve heard too many horror stories of the twin turbos blowing up, and costing more than the entire car to fix. It happened to my dad’s friend, too. :scared:

But yeah, it’s always been a dream to own a 300zx in excellent condition. 👍

Edit: I thought I posted a picture of my new car here. But it looks like my last post was in 2007...
2000 Celica SX; 2ZZ-GE 1.8L engine (with 180bhp).

Edit 2: Wait... I did, in this thread:

Why on earth do we have two threads so similar?

How's this?

Um, well not much better, really, because you pulled that off the internet like anyone could.

The point of it is to show the non believers that you do in fact own/drive the car, by showing us a photo unlike any that we could find doing a quick google search.

Hence, a photo of the car with a handwritten sheet of paper saying "Hi GTP, from JohnnyGT" would put any doubt to rest, because you have now shown us a photo no one else could and that isn't already on the internet.

As I said, I'm not saying I don't believe you, though some might, because all you have given of proof of ownership are shots that are already found on the net, so what's stopping the next person posing as the owner and showing is the same shots?

👍

Awesome car though. :D

LOL @ You guys doubting Johnny.

You all must have missed this thread: https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=126404

It's his car, and it's one hell of a build. Makes my single turbo V8 S2000 project look shrimpy in comparison!

LOL @ You thinking that he's given us anything I couldn't go out on the interwebz and rustle up myself. ;)

I'm not doubting him, I just want proof, because it is a pretty steep and cool claim to make.

JohnnyGT, nice car... but you could have given us a little more backing then just a picture. Owning a Celica is very believable, but any random n00b can rock up, claiming he owns a rocket-powered Ford GT. No evidence initially makes you look like a fool ;).

^ Jeez, you guys are ridiculous.

I tend to forget that this is a forum primarily for gamers.

He makes similar posts on car-specific message boards all across the internet and receives his due congratulations, but here he gets, "Proof?"

I'm sure if John Hennessey came and posted a thread about a new standing mile record in one of his company's Vipers, you'd all say, "That's cool and all, but how do we know you're the real John Hennessey? Please provide copies of last month's invoices with 'Hi GTPlanet' written on them! Also, pics of your breakfast with the Mona Lisa painted in jelly on your toast."

You might not believe it but we get a lot of n00bs here which is why we may be a bit more weary than those in a car specific message board, theres nothing ridiculous with asking for proof. This is the internet after all and theres nothing personal about those pics if you know what I mean, they could have very easily been taken off some website.

He'll get his due contratulations after he gives proof - wanna know why? Because I also have a balistic Ford GT in the US - here it is:

Here's my car on the dyno:

Yeah, the thing is awesome in a straight line. Makes like 1800hp on a good day, and I use it as a daily driver to do the groceries and take the kids to school. I fill it up with 98RON and it does about 10mpg in city traffic. I have no idea what it tops out at, but we are aiming for 275mph when I take it to Bonneville, if the tires will hold.

See? Not that hard to do. ;)
