Have you proved that the SVTF is as fast/faster than the RX8 yet?

Whenever I see pics of your car I wonder, why the heck didn't I save a couple grand and get one of those instead?

Nice Octavia up there 👍 Great cars, love the honesty about them, no pretence of being a premium car but you still get great quality.

Excellent 👍 Something to have a snoop around at the next GTP meet :D

Here's mine, and mine. Well, the ForTwo isn't mine, I just borrowed it a couple of weekends back.

Two rear-drive convertibles for the win. Also probably the campest collection of any GTPer :P

Earlier with all these electric cars, the Fiesta and the MX-5 purchase we all just assumed.. Now we know for sure with that Smart cab.. 2010; the year hfs came out of the closet.. :)

1. In a manner of speaking. She was following me home and we came to a light and it's one of my favorites because it goes under SH75 and has a rather large double bridge with multiple lanes each way (as seen in the pic below). There was a new Dodge Challenger SRT-8 in front of me and my fiancée was next to me in her RX-8, the light turned green and we all went for it. And yes the Challenger left us for dead. But, I was pulling on her pretty easily until we shut it down at the next light. The Challenger driver gave me a thumbs up though. :D

One day I will get some sort of device that reads lateral G's and acceleration stuff and test both cars in the same conditions on the same road surface.

FYI, the noise driving under these bridges is almost like driving in a tunnel--granted for only a few seconds. But it is enough to bathe in the glory of your car's noise. :D

Oak Point Park?

Bob Woodruff Park on Spring Creek right off of Parker. It's where the yearly Balloon Festival launches.

Sir? Um, excuse me...sir? I hate to be a bother, but it seems you've parked on my grass by mistake...

2. Then don't look at this sir... :D

One of the best moments was the unmarked Plano Police truck that drove by and didn't say a word about my car being parked in the grass.

 I think my girlfriend has been suspicious for years...

Oh, that was my second guess, honestly. I've never been to Plano, only Dallas or Arlington (SFOT FTW!!), so I was just looking at random parks on Google maps.

You run the car under Addison Airfield yet? Now, that's a fun tunnel. :D

washed, buffed, washed, waxed today. It took like 4 hours and there are soo many blemishes still. It does look pretty hot in the sun though.

It's off Midway near RAC Performance. Not a very long tunnel (& it's a toll road technically), but it's the closest I've found to a decent sized tunnel in Dallas.

Hey, I think that's the tunnel Jeff took me through in his S2000 when I went down there to pick up my miata. It is fun... :sly:

Cool, I live just off of Preston Rd so I could just take that down to Keller Springs and hit it up that way.

And I just found it in Google maps street view...and omg it's a nice little tunnel! Looks to be about 2,000-2,200ft long. How's the Police presence? Are there cameras in the tunnel? Do I need to hit this at night to reduce the possibility of traffic? Details my friend details.

Yes I'm excited. We don't have tunnels in Texas. :sly:

I cant say why, but US Spec cars looks so much better then the Euro Spec cars... Something is just different... maybe its that some cars dont have front plates or, maybe its the US license plate size or the orange parking lights...

Chris

The only cameras are probably just the toll ones when you come in/out on to Midway. Haven't really seen any police presence there, plus, it's little tricky for them to post up on the east end b/c there is a side street that merges when you come out just before you hit Addison Rd. It's a dead end side street, but I've still seen 1-2 cars every time I pass by.

The tunnel also has a slight curve in it anyways, so if you start slowing down once you hit it, you should be fine; map doesn't really illustrate this.

Traffic wise, just depends. A lot of people aren't going to pay to go under the airport & will take Arapaho around if need be. But, then again, some people are in a rush or don't care. I'm sure going at night eliminates the traffic easily, but I have no idea what the police presence is like in Addison at night.

There is one tunnel in Houston, the Washburn Tunnel. It goes under the Houston Ship Channel. I've never been in it, but one day I'll take the Tundra for some good ol' tunnel blasting!

McLaren, is that one of your cars? I don't recognize the bonnet and dash vents.

Plus, I need to make it down to that tunnel soon. Just need a video camera first.
