I would think yellow is a dangerous color to paint calipers in the Porsche community. Doesn't that, from the factory, mean it's equipped with carbon ceramic discs?[/QUOTE]

Yellow does means ceramic discs.I think I'm going to go with red.

I've been driving my Sierra too since the last tank in the Mazda I averaged 10.5 mpg. Lead foot? Maybe.
Not sure if I missed the mishap, but what happened to the engine?

The original engine spun a bearing. I then bought a used shortblock and did a mild high compression build (from 9.5 to 11:1 CR) and that engine developed a rod knock in 45 minutes. Turns out the engine came from a rollover and was probably starved of oil. So I just dropped it off at a machine shop. Getting it bored and the heads rebuilt. I'll know tomorrow if they can salvage the crankshaft or if I need to buy another one.

Ah, gotcha. Was it an EJ25?

There's been a massive void in my life which could only be filled with a Toyota Celica, so I bought one. 1990 GTS with 230K miles.

I have no idea how it's in such great shape for the mileage. No rust on the frame or anywhere else, the seats look almost new, the dash isn't cracked, and even the steering wheel isn't that worn out. Only thing that gives it away is the faded paint. Interior was dirty, but it cleaned up nicely!

And naturally it's gonna rain all week so no wash and no spirited drives. But it needs a wheel bearing which is making a metric ****ton of noise so I guess it's fine.
