Loving all these pics of the HSV W427, Joss JT1 and Monaro.:) Nice stuff.👍 I played this game on the weekend, the tyres truthfully look awesome at a stand still. I played with a G8 GXP and modified Joss JT1 from VWAG, the game belonged to a VWAG tuner.;) Does anyone here know VWAG?

On topic though, without mentioning any names, some of these photomode shots are terrible!! And what makes them look worse are the truely amazing alternatives. Honestly i need some help understanding the diversity of quality.

Hopefully chromatic can help 👍 Your shots are phenominal and i was wondering... is it all down to HSR and post processing in photoshop? Are there tools in forza you make use of other people dont? And how is it even possible that the cars all look so damn pretty!? Did turn 10 make GT5 level car models which are available in photomode, yet come actually playing the game they have to be toned down detail wise? Or is it down to lighting why GT looks better than F3 ?
 
A lot of chromatic's shots are down to getting the in game contrast and brightness right, I imagine. The sharpening and resizing in post processing helps loads too, as I found out recently with mine.

The pics I posted on the previous page don't have any photoshop or sharpening. Hosting on flickr and linking the small uncompressed image helps the clarity.

In photomode you get a higher poly model. Some are quite detailed like in GT5P but most I'd say are little below GT5P/GT5. Then you have exposure, brightness, contrast settings etc. This can help you make the lighting look realistic, but move the camera and the lighting is all over the place. It's really just manipulating one angle.

Gameplay and replays have the low poly model with pretty drab lighting I have to say unfortunately. It's generally a good looking game though. You can see T10 are working hard and newer cars look better modeled. I expect the lighting and reflections to be a lot better in the next game.

Lighting is key but also the photomode cars have rounded panel seams, more polys on the curves. Detailed headlamps. The inside of the car is clear to see on photomode. All which give the lighting more to enhance and look believable.

Just a quick side by side comparison with GT5 photomode images which obviously are taken from PD's released images. Nothing malicious intended. Obviously reduced from the original 18mp size, a slight re-work in PS: less saturation, a bit lens flare on the second image, added a bit of noise and sharpening.

Other than the fact that GT5 images allow for bigger size, a good PS knowledge (along with good eyes for composition) goes a long way as chromatic9 proves.

All liveries and custom logos are done by me.

Mostly the DUB 300C and the Acura ARX-01b.
Saw similar cars and wanted to recreate my own versions of them.
And of course the real life liveries aren't my desings, but that's not the same.

It looks like there's some kind of rail in front, but it is really hard to tell what's going on. I'd say there is a little intersection going on, or a very strange two wheel photo.
 
I wish Forza has the USB transfer system that GT has but oh well. The pictures always look WAY better in the game. By the time they are transfered to the Forza site and saved, they look like crap.
Every single one of the gauges and dials and anything you see is legible in the real game. You can zoom all the way in and see the text perfectly. But once its transferred to the Forza site, the pics just look like garbage.

With that said here is a recent random interior pic I took this weekend. None of the other pics I took this weekend would load. This pic was taken through the side window.

Hmm good question. I drive so many random cars just to see the different interior. I think maybe a Hyundai but I cant remember anything other than that. Oh wait maybe a Genesis Coupe?? I was driving some random D class car that I upgraded to C class and noticed it is the same exact car they have on the billboards in New York (in F3).
The pics look much better in game. I should just take pics with my camera from now on and avoid the Forza site.
The gauge pod behind the steering wheel has purple gauges. Thats why I decided to take a pic of the car but couldnt get a good pic of the gauges so I took a pic of this dash area instead.
