If you "right click view" you'll see them much sharper and clearer. gtplanet blurs the pics.

If you want to retrieve your photos you must have a Xbox live Gold account. So this is why they won't allow you to use USB
It's unfortunately, a Microsoft shortcoming. Several games like Forza, do hold the abilities to transfer via USB device, but Microsoft doesn't allow it. As far as I can see, the only reason MS won't do so is simply because they can't control it

This might come across as a fanboy post so i apologise, but this is exactly why my loyalties lie with sony. Its obvious from my presence in these threads i have a healthy respect for forza, and i dont dislike the xbox either. I think its amazing how cheaply you can buy a current gen console to be honest, but my lasting impression of microsoft is that they would bleed their consumers dry if given half a chance. The only people they hurt are the end user, and how do they even get away with telling a game developer how the game content should be managed!? Turn 10 must be outraged. Well... i would be. I wonder if it were left up to turn 10, wether your dlc would be free too?

I guess the long and short though, is if they didnt operate like this then you wouldn't even have a 360 to play forza on. It must be slightly annoying for you all though.

Btw, to chromatic and shidapu... 3rd pics are awesomesauce! 👍
And McLaren, i like your compositions, but they're too saturated for my tastes

I LOVE when chromatic posts his pics because thats the closest it gets to showing how good Forza 3 TRULY looks. Just think, it looks even better in the game. People just dont understand that the images we post are all COMPRESSED for the site and lookin nothing like the in game shots. Thats why it drives me nuts when people say the graphics are not good in Forza 3 because that is not true at all.

Thats why from now on when I post pics, they will be directly from a camera because the compressed images from the Forza site dont look anywhere near as good as they do in game.

Captain Rosh, that pic you posted is what Forza 3 looks like BEFORE the pics are compressed to the site. It really looks that good. :)

Thats really impressive that is. But why cant you save the photos to your xbox directly? Is that a hardware or software shortcoming? Also does forza have straight to youtube video uploading, like GT5 is rumoured to? I'm guessing those would look quite terrible. Handy feature though i guess.

Heres another image i found anyway, be it a promo, uncompressed photomode, whatever, its looks incredible!

Unfortunately, that's a pre-rendered promo image that was around months before the game's release. Still looks great, though. :)

The image in post 986. Thats what the game looks like and if anything, even better than that image. ;) Just look at chromatic's pics. The game looks even better than that.

That's not a pre-render. The only thing done to it is T10 bumping up the quality of the image above what the game normally outputs.

If someone has the time, a good camera, and a good HDTV, they should post a comparison pic to the one in post 986. I guarantee the pic you see in the game looks even better than the image in post 986.
Dont take the image from the Forza site, take it with your camera and then upload that pic to imageshack or something to show how great the game looks.

I don't know a whole lot about T10, but aren't they essentially part of MS? That might explain how that happens...

I come into this thread occasionally, against my better judgement, because every single time, Chromatic is more effective at selling me on a 360 and FM3 than any sales person could possibly be. My eyes are happy, but my wallet is shaking it's non-existent fists in your general direction!

Awesome, awesome stuff, guys 👍

Sorry but I have to disagree. Outside of photo mode the cars look nowhere like this. Forza 3 has very detailed car models but they aren't used during gameplay.

Tried to replicate the promo shot but its hard to get the red correct with my camera and the background was washed out. My cheap digital camera won't pickup everything correctly. Someone with a £200 camera and a more recent HDTV would be better. These came out okay though.

My thoughts exactly, the game has received no real graphical improvements from Forza 2 outside Photo Mode. Note the generic, black interior, lack of detail in the rear headlamps and the lack of dynamic lighting, which lends vehicles an unattractive "plastic" quality to them. I don't understand why Turn 10 held the game back from a visual standpoint, it's not as if the Xbox isn't capable. Just look at games such as NFS Shift.

Moglet how do you know David Yu?

I don't know him, I just read the column he wrote on his car in EVO magazine and replicated it from there. I also saw the car at the Autosports & Pistonheads show this year.

As always, great pics chromatic. 👍
drivatar,
Again you are wrong. What you see in these pics is how the game truly looks.

Those are great pics, but while playing in game Forza3 does not look like that. In photo mode the cars look way better. Again Those are nice pics though 👍

Forza 3 doesnt have a separate "photo mode" like GT. Those pics above are the IN GAME pictures. You can pause the game at any time during a race and take the pic, its not any special photo mode at all like GT has. I wish it had a photo mode like GT where you can move your car around and take a pic in special settings, but it doesnt. All he did was drive his car to that part of the track, hit pause, and take the pic. Hitting the pause button does not magically add graphics to the game. lol That is what Forza 3 looks like during every race.

Bro im sorry but this is known already when you go into replay mode or photo mode the cars look way better.

This is in game shot of Forza3. Look at the interior its dark when you go to replay mode or photo mode you can see the interior. I have the game man Im not making this up.

The quality of that picture though is god awful & does not represent what the game actually looks like in-motion.

That's Camaro's point against it.

Im not talking about the quality Im talking about the detail, and the lighting. Photo mode in Forza 3 makes the cars look way better than in game mode. Some of the photographer on FM.Net make the game look amazing  My pics always come out ugly  Im not trying to knock the game please dont take it in a bad way.

That's obvious, but if you're going to use a picture example to show how the game lacks detail, don't use some crappy image off Gamespot.

If it was obvious why did CAMAROBOY69 say "Forza 3 doesnt have a separate "photo mode" like GT. Those pics above are the IN GAME pictures. I was talking to him Just showing him the blacked out windows and the lighting of in game. Im not trying to diss your beloved FM3 man, BTW what Image should i use then do you have a better one?

An important question to ask: Do you have Forza 3?

Yes i have all of the forza's 1,2, and 3 and a Porsche wheel. I am a fan of the series so don't even try to play that card I'm a fanboy or I don't know what I'm talking about. I know for sure photo mode and game mode does not look the same. When i'm driving in cockpit view and I look over at my bros car I cannot see in his interior as i could see in it like photo mode.

If you have game, then why choose such a demeaning picture that makes the game look less than it does? Yes, the interior darkens when the race starts, and yes things look a bit better in Photo Mode but that's largely because only a set distance is being rendered, not the entire environment and eight cars, and even when eight cars are in frame (let's say you want to take a photo of something involving the other seven vehicles. An incident, perhaps) the same still applies - only a set distance is going to be rendered, and beyond that distance things aren't going to be as high of quality.

For comparison's sake, GT5's photo mode will take pictures at 18MP. You have any idea what resolution that is? Everything is going to look better in Photo Mode because there's less to render, therefore there's more to dedicate to the entire scene(s).

Ohh boy... I can care less about the damn picture as a whole. I'm talking about how the windows are blacked out and the lighting of the game. They only way i can show him another example if i take a picture of the game in game on my screen if you have a better picture of in game please post it. It still will have blacked out windows and funny lighting making the cars look weird. In Photo mode some of the guys can make the cars look beautiful even if the pic is from far distance.

This picture is a far view however because its in photo mode you can clearly see the interior and how great the lighting looks. Forza3 has good graphics, but they really show during photomode replay, and when the car is parked by the railing during career mode.

Hi Camaro i just want to point out a few things, while Forza doesnt have a separate photomode, this is not how it looks ingame (still i think Forza 3 looks gorgeous while racing).
Theres a few changes like the more AA, bump mapping and some subtle changes, but the most important thing is the change of the players car model, while you race you use an ingame model but when you enter in the photomode the model is replaced for the the ones you see in the menus, which have higher polycount and more details. Its a pretty clever change and most of the people doesnt notice the change.

Im 100% sure about this and if you want to see it by youself all you have to do is chose a same car that AI and while racing put your car side by side with the same AI car, then pause and enter in the photo mode, then you are going to be able to see the change between the ingame model and the photomode model.
